Description

A mythical creature from ancient times,
Raises its snake like head to conceal, with a rhyme
A treasure worth finding, or at least hiding.
A beast of the myths but nothing to fear, don’t let your knees wobble…
For this herbivore has placed its stash away from what it prefers to gobble!

You may or may not see the mythical beast but keep your eyes open and let us know what you do see.
Hidden on an easy walking, or riding track. Two possible entry points, if you come in one it’s worth making it to the other.

Searched today but pretty sure the location is no longer with the tree suffering extensive storm/termite damage and has been heavily pruned recently.

I needed a nice cache hidden in 2007 for the Summer Scavenger Series and this cache was on my radar. As I had DNFed it 7 years ago, I was very nervous about being able to find it today. So off I headed, arrived at a well-remembered GZ, put my hand out and grabbed the cache! Now how did I miss that last time??

Now that the walking track circles the whole lake. this is an even better cache Very Happy

A nice walk on this sunny winter day and a quick find right where the Garmin thought it should be. After signing, I walked down to the water's edge to check the distance for a Geosportz claim (it was 17m) and fittingly, several of the creatures were passing by. I didn't know we had them here. Thanks TopoTurtles.

20-Dec-15
Straightforward find. Took a space shuttle, left a snow globe. SL TFTC.

05-Oct-15
A nice easy find on a walk around this section of the lake.

Still looking great, came especially to give this cache some winter Dragon love. Took a while to find but that was due to my phone GPS not working well. Lucky it's my birthday and there is a new Garmin on the way! Very Happy

15-Sep-14
Found today while on a walk around the lake, lovely area to spend some lazy time in!
Thanks for the cache, nice camo.

30-Sep-13
Paddled around the lake, beached the kayak and soon found GZ. Awesome camo, it really blends in well. Nicely constructed log book. Good to see a 6 year old cache looking good as new.

25-Aug-13
A great spot on the popular Narrabeen Lagoon bike trail. The cache is in good condition and its a nice camo. There are more signatures in the log book than on-line logs and it seems to still be found fairly regularly.

EcoDave & I skyved off from family lunch to bag a couple nearby caches. 1 of 2 for the day. First find with the smartphone app (finally some success!!) TNLN TFTC

Rode the pushie around for an easy find. After all this time it's still in great shape. Camo works well. TNSLLN

On a sunny winters day running around Narrabeen Lagoon. TFTC easy find.

all in place, time is helping this caches hide

23-Jan-10
After a lovely walk around the lake and no luck with the GC cache nearby (it seems to have disappeared back in August 09), we couldn't find this one either! I'm not sure if we were just no good at looking or if it's gone. Plenty of bike riders on this great little path today and it was a great walk.

28-Aug-09
decided to take the dog for a good walk around the lake and picked up this nice little cache on the way.
Nice camo on the container.

28-Apr-09
A nice easy find after logging the other nearby cache, but a VERY impressive camo job! Thanks, TopoTurtles!

15-Mar-09
Lovely stroll along the water and found after getting the nearby GC one. Loved the camo on this hide. Very nice.

Found a GC TB which I will move on, no swaps. Thanks TopoTurtles. Then off to nearby South Narrabeen for a swim.

18-Oct-08
On a walk along the lake side with a few friends, picked up the GC cache and then grabbed this one on the way back. Beautiful area for a walk.

13-Jul-08
Found easily despite all the muggles... watch for the silent bicycle riders! They appear without warning! Nice ride around the area by the way Smile

12-Jul-08
Quick check today found all in order.

29-Jun-08
I'm sure that this is probably an easy find but on a gorgeous saturday afternoon this track is busier than Pitt St! Felt way too conspicous tramping around in the bush so will come back mid week.Nice spot though.

25-May-08
Our first cache after a big break. This is a pretty regular walk for us. No swaps today.

08-Mar-08
None around here I am afraid

I fear,

To Manly dam they have strayed

Only pesky ducks in this neck of the wood

Fly away,

Naa, too fat, no way they could

But wild life is plentiful

Spectacular

And beautiful

Well worth the trip, stuff you will happen upon

Just a shame

It wasn’t the majestic black swan

03-Mar-08
Found at easily 6.30pm after not being able to find the other cache nearby.

I really enjoyed the walk into this one through the rainforest and you've chosen a nice spot for a Cache. Thanks for taking me there

I haven't been checking GCA much lately, when all of a sudden there's two new caches on my regular MTB ride. Didn't see any Cygnus atratus' today, just some bedraggled canoeists & dog walkers.

With a few days off work, I decided to go caching today and saw that this was still unfound, and decided a little Northern Beaches caching was a good idea. I parked outside the parking area to avoid the fees and walked a pleasant path to the cache. I couldn't really see a great resemblance to the named creature, but a great spot nonetheless.

13-Oct-07
Hidden today with the help of the Blandford Crew. On a 10.5km cycle and picnic around the lake.
