Description
Turn off the Dolcoath Hill road (Lemonthyme Lodge road) past the 4km marker into Dolcoath Hill 1.Travel straight ahead along slightly overgrown road
which takes a downhill grade to Lake Cethana.
Should be able to get within 100m or so with 2wd.
You can also access the cache via the lake with suitable water craft.
Cache is a black container with couple of swaps.
Logs
Staying on a night away at lemontymne lodge we decided to tackle a few caches in the area. We managed to find some and not some others.
We had a good time exploring areas that we wouldn’t have normally seen if not for caching.
Followed the road all the way down and managed to drive within 30m of the cache, after an extended search we found the container with no lid or log inside, luckily had some paper in the ute so replaced the log. Checked the lake out looks like a great fishing area will have to come back with the fishing rod. TFTC

Hi sirius
Started the drive down to this cache and started to think I'd bitten off more than my little Toyota could do. But made it and then wondered if she'd get out?
Find the cache first and then worry about that after!
A quick find; signing the log at 1029hrs.
Could imagine you here fighting speckled fury and then enjoying it for tea or breakfast.
Car made it easily, but had it rained.....?
Great spot and picturesque!
Enjoyed the adventure.
TFTC and cheers

The road is clear to this cache at this point in time drove Geojero right to the lake. Cleared lots of fallen bushes as we went but it all added to the adventure. a very peaceful spot. The cache was in good condition, just covered it up with a bit more bark. TFTC

Given the description and previous log, we planned to drive into this cache (or very near). However, there were many trees down over the road after the logging area. A path had been cut between some trees (not all) wide enough for a quad bike but a chain saw was definitely needed to make a suitable path for us (of course, no chain saw in our caching kit todat!!). So we set off on "shanks pony" for a very pleasant walk in and out. The sun was shining, not too hot and barely any breeze - and the walk along the road through the bush was a great reward. Once at the lake edge, a quick find was made. As it was downhill all the way in, we were not looking forward to the walk out. However, the very well graded road resulted in a good walk, never over taxing at any stage. It took us 2.5 hours return from the logging area. Thanks Sirius for a great cache.
The moral of this cache is: If you're driving down a track and there are actual, bonnet-high trees growing in the middle of it, a) it's the wrong road, and b) don't keep on going anyway...
Um, that small misadventure came about after being presented with multiple options for which was the correct road and choosing the wrong one. We found Dolcoath Hill road alright, but the problem then was the interpretation of 'straight ahead,' because at the top of the hill the road split into two in the midst of a recently logged area. So was it left, right or one of the side roads back? We tried the latter option and, as stated above, found that it was a rather silly way despite what the GPS said. So we went back to the summit and the road that was sweeping down the side of the hill. At least it looked like it was going in the right direction.
From then on it was pretty slow going, as it usually is with our cachemobile on these types of tracks, stopping every now and then to pick fallen trees off the path. Eventually came to a stop about 700m from the cache because I was getting hot and tired and didn't want the engine to blow up, leaving us stranded deep in a random bit of bush in the sweltering sun without even fishing as an excuse...
So we walked the rest of the way and finally got to the lake. Very calm, very peaceful, no muggles. After a bit of a search we found the cache, safe and clean and dry.

We made another trip to this area today and were able to gain access to the cache area. The track is now clear. When we arrived at GZ and found the base of the container only. It was evident it had been muggled. Maybe It can be replaced by sirius Tas and reposted. Until this is done dont bother looking.
Access still blocked by logging. Several trees dropped across the road to make sure nobody gets in, not far in from the turn off.
We almost got to the cache today taking the wrong road and we got stuck down some washed out low range 4wd goat track. Eventually after scratching the fourby way too much as the track closed in and fallen trees halted progress we started to walk the last 2km. Some way down a really really steep hill we decided to drive back out and take the route Sirius described but found the logging and gave up today! It was an adventure.

we were unable to access the last section or the road due to forestry operations. What a shame, we were very disappointed but we will return.
Simple little description seemed harmless enough but true to form 'red tag' turns it into an adventure!
I was on my own, late in the day, after a very wet winter, driving a road that seemed to go on and on, I had no mobile reception and I was driving further and further down a hill and the road was getting narrower and wetter. Some people might have considered to turn back but the cache(and the fish) were calling and the trees that had fallen across the road hadnt got so big that I couldnt drag them just off the track enough for me to get my car through, so on I went.
I whimped out of driving the last 300 or so metres and with all the excitement I left my camera in the car so there aren't any fishing pics.
I enjoyed the whole drive in and the location immensely and its definitely doable in a 2WD.
The water level is very close to the cache but its unlikely to reach it now. Container was full of water so I replaced it upside down in the hope it doesn't refill.
AWESOME CACHE Sirius. LOVED IT !!!!
and no I didnt catch any fish, this time

Hopefully we were discreet enough for the campers 30 metres away to be unaware of what we were doing. Nice spot. Easy find.

Had been meaning to do this one for a while to complete the "Lets go fishing" series.
Track was quite overgrown and bumpy in places but the Lancer did get me to within 100m.
When I got to GZ there was only one place the cache could have been, but it wasn't!
Also fresh footprints all around.
Just happened to have a spare everything so replaced.
So cache is no longer black but clear and has no swaps.
Logged with permission from SiriusTas - many thanks.
