Take a Photo
Timing is everything to claim this cache.
To find this cache you must take a photo of a ship in the passenger terminal at Portside in Brisbane. You must take the photo from the Portside area itself and not using a telephoto lens from a distance or from the south bank.
If you can get a photo of a ship that no other cacher has got then you also have the bragging rites to that as well. Enter your photo into the Gallery for this cache to make your claim for a find.

Logs
Departing right now on Sea Princess. Tried to get a photo while we were boarding but the border security people did not like the idea of me doing so ... so here's one from the shop as it moves away from the dock.
We went to Portside Brisbane to farewell our geodaughter. She was on her way to Vanuatu and other islands. Filling o tick on her bucket list. We took this photo from the viewing platform. TFTC

We were nearby doing a Scrabble multi for the GC souvenir. As we were leaving I noticed the cruise ship was at the terminal and said "we have to go and get a photo for the virtual!" So we did. TFTC

We've been to Portside many times and one evening we went to see the Rainbow Warrior when it was in port.

120 Km from home.
We were on the Pacific Dawn for a 9 day cruise for Christmas and our 35th Wedding Anniversary.
Almost feel bad about claiming this find as we knew exactly when the ship was going to be here, but only almost…
Took nothing but memories and left nothing but our tag and footprints.
Thanks for the cache Sunshine Toledo.

We've been portside heaps. We were here to visit the Doulos and saw the Pacific Dawn in port this week. Tonight we met friends for dinner at a nearby cafe and decided to take a stroll along the portside. This is a great spot to stop off. TFTV Sunshine Toledo

I spotted the Pacific Dawn from the other side of the river this morning so decided that today was the day to finally log this cache. After crossing the moat to the darkside, we made our way to Portside and grabbed our happy snaps.

I had to log this ship on this day.
We were supposed to be on this cruise (Around Australia) from Sydney starting last Thursday but my wife took ill and we had to cancel the trip.
We had a couple of NZ friends who were also on the cruise and so I had to meet them as the official Brisbane Welcoming committee.
We spent the day playing cards in my wife's hospital ward. Bon Voyage Bruce and Bronwyn. We hope you enjoy our cruise for us.

Noticed the ship was docked when driving home from 'Woofstock', at nearby Albion Park Raceway.
The ship photographed as 'The Silver Shadow'.

Pacific Dawn was on the way out for the cruise up the Queensland coast. I was here to see off the other half and her 2 sisters for a week.
I finally got around to pausing for a pic of a boat in dock...
In dock today was the MS Amedea. Details from wiki:
MS Amadea is a cruise ship owned by Amadea Shipping Company and operated under charter by the Germany-based Phoenix Reisen. She was originally built in 1991 by the Mitsubishi Heavy Industries shipyard in Nagasaki, Japan as MS Asuka for Nippon Yusen Kaisha. In 2006 she was sold to her current owners and entered service with Phoenix Reisen.
Already set sail for Hamilton Island, she was anchored at the Wharf throughout the day.
Quite surprised to see that there have only been a handful of logs for this cache... Lets hope we see lots more...
Cheers

Over near portside looking for the circus and took the chance to find & photograph the Pacific Sun. Never realised how big these things are. It was action stations as crew and dock staff were unloading and loading. There were even painters paintings.

FTF the Dawn Princess on her maiden circumnavigation of Australia! She docked at Portside at 8am today and is departing at 6pm. She carries 1950 passengers, has 14 decks, is 261 metres in length, 77,000 gross tonnes and has a maximum speed of 21 knots. The Dawn Princess entered service in 1997. I had a lovely time looking around and I had a rather expensive coffee and delicious cheesecake...just so I could enjoy how the "other half" lives. A lovely escape from reality - thanks Sunshine Toledo! - svn07

On my way to the airport at lunchtime today and a great opportunity for a photo stop was waiting at Portside.
The world's oldest active ocean-going passenger ship "Doulos" is in town for a couple of weeks.
Launched on August 22nd, 1914, the Doulos has been a frieghter, transported immigrants, a cruise liner and now a floating library operated by a non profit organisation. Travelling the world on humanitarian and educational missions.
The ship has its own website 'http://www.mvdoulos.org/' and is open for tours whilst in Brisbane.

Went to Portside today at 11am after looking up the Cruise Ship timetable, and sure enough there was a HUGE ship there. You just don't realise how big they are til you're standing right there. Don't know if I'd like to be on one out in a cyclone or something... So am I FTP (first to photograph)?
