Had a nice day in the Mt Field / Styx area, although we were up and going earlier than we wanted due to an incident in the street at 4.30. Perfect weather for the day - 17 - 19 degrees overcast.

Great walk to the cave and was easy to collect the required information

Visited this place with Wazza9 and Nana Nel after a walk down to Florentine River. The last time we were here was in summer and you could have easily walked into the entrance. Today, the river would have knocked you for six! Amazing how different it was! TFTC Polfil!
Cheers,

TFTC,
We went out to do GC1KKDD - Florentine today and also found a number of other GC caches together with this GA Virtual.
What an amazing location and learning experience. Now to find out more about it.

Hi Polfil, thanks for this cache. Sorry but I'm unable to find your email address anywhere, but I've taken pics of the signs with the info. I was going to slip the answers, somewhat obfuscated, into my log, but decided not to.
I was in the area today with AlbyDangles in search of the recently published GC cache nearby.
We enjoyed our walk up to the cave entrance, with many stops along the way to spot the trout in the very clear and shallow Junee River. We even had a paddle before leaving.
Initial plan was to be here yesterday, but that was thwarted by the closure of the Gordon River Road from Westerway due to smoke and ash from the large bushfire to the NW.
As we drove up this morning evidence of smoke was negligible, but by the time we left an hour later, the skies were again filling with smokey haze. Hopefully conditions change soon so that the fire can be properly controlled and eventually extinguished.
An excellent reserve to visit, thanks.

Logging with permission from the owner who quickly responded to our email. We arrived here late in the day and just grabbed a small torch in case we needed it for the way back. Wish we had taken a more powerful one so we could have shone it in to the cave and checked it out a bit better.
Decided this might be a nice place to spend the night and backed the van up to the now closed bridge so it was well out of the way of the turning circle [as requested by the sign]. All was good until about 3 in the morning when lights and noise awakened us and there was a large water tanker backing in to the opposite end of this very short bridge. Think it took him about an hour to fill it up!!! Up until then we thought we had found a wonderful quiet place beside a beautiful clear little river to stay.
Despite this experience we loved our visit to the caves, learnt a lot that we didn't know and enjoyed the short walk to the cave through very scenic territory.
Thanks.

Logging this cache with permission from CO.

Found on our school holiday caravan and caching trip to the South West.

We have enjoyed exploring this part of Tasmania and the weather Gods have been extremely kind to us providing fine but cold conditions for cache hunting. This was a place we had not visited before and we enjoyed the walk to the cave. Another interesting spot that Geocaching has bought us to. Thanks polfil for bringing us here and your prompt response to our email.

#5 of 8 caches on 8/10/12 for the cache "GA2512 A Busy Day" - Virtual.

After attending the Geocaching 102 Event in Hobart the previous evening, we decided to head home via the West Coast and along the way try to meet the requirements for the above locationless cache. We enjoyed the drive to Maydena then to the Junee Cave carpark. It was a lovely walk into the cave - many photos taken. The information required for this cache was obtained by 9:20am, without any problems. Thanks polfil for your prompt reply confirming our answers to the questions. thanks for the cache and for bringing us to such a lovely area.

What a beautiful place to visit. Even the light rain wasn't enough to deter us from taking the little trek to this place.

A very interesting walk to an amazing place. Have never seen water pouring out of a cave like it does here. Very glad we came. We were introduced to the cave spiders by the ranger at the Marakoopa Caves in Mole Creek Kaarst Nat. Park. Could see another nearby cave entrance up the hill from here.....only 293 entrances that we haven't seen yet Rolling Eyes Thanks for bringing us here polfil Very Happy

Hi Polfil
Logged this cache at 1225hrs in the rain as my third for the day.
Have been to the caves only once before, but wet or dry it's a great walk in beside the creek. Saw two speckled fury (trout) facing upstream looking for food. Got back to the car and had a flat rear tyre. Great cache, great walk with the odours of the bush in the nostrils. Thanks and cheers; OldSaint.

Wow! What a spot! Lovely clear water in the river, and lots of it. A great mate, the smell of Aussie Bush just after (and during) rain, an amazing geological feature, and a cache (or two). It doesn't get much better than that!

Thanks Polfil; I can't believe I haven't been here before!

Email with answers sent!

There are not many rivers with water this clear and being distracted by the many small fish was fun. A lovely place.
Thanks Polfil for the experience

Visited the cave entrance during a really fun fishing trip with Red Tag and Rebulus. We were almost completely distracted from the purpose of our visit by the small native fish in the clear water of the stream. Thanks Polfil
