414 Km from home.
Heading home after a week in Sydney, as an ex-serviceman (24 years Army) this one was on the list. After finding a spot to park and ‘refresh’ after the drive we wandered over to this monument. To say we were blown away by the detail of this sculpture is an under statement. Being a retired ‘gun plumber’ (Armourer) I couldn’t fault the period correct SMLE .303 #III*
The camera got a good workout here so I could take our memories with us.
Thanks for bringing us here.

We took nothing but memories and left nothing but footprints.

The co-ords were good and we found the answers easily enough.

Thanks for the cache Sam Spam.

Just had to stop at this one. Had a grandfather who rode in the Light Horse and being a horse lover listened to his tales for many years. Never realised the scale of their involvement in the wars. Found the info boards fascinating, over 500000 horses sent overseas and only 1 of them returned to Aussie shores. Thanks, a thoroughly enjoyable virtual.
