Description

Let's go caching

While returning from the Red Centre Experience Event in Alice Springs caching our way back to Tasmania, we left Mildura for Robinvale. On the way we spotted this rest area which appears rather new. There is a rest area on both sides of the road with new picnic tables and shelter, plus rubbish bin, but no toilets. As there is plenty of room to park for all sizes of vehicles including caravans and motor homes, we decided to place a cache to break the journey east/west as there are not any GCA caches in the area (except the water tower trig in Euston).

So stop for a break, find a cache and get a smiley.

Please return the cache as found. Be careful not to drop the cache when replacing.

Let's get out and about caching. See you in the field.

Finally back in NSW after a roadtrip to WA. The best thing about the NSW border... you don't have to throw out your fruit and veg. Very Happy Or stuff yourself trying to eat it before you cross a border. Sick
A really good safe hide that I hope to use in GeosportZ 2024. TFTC whitewebbs.

#GA5566 - 12:15; Day 5 of the Wang Mega tour with Sol de lune. After a day and a bit of caching in Sunraysia, we wrapped up our mission this morning with a few more finds and were now headed for Narranderra in the Riverina, caching along the way. I asked my German visitor, fairy penguins, to hop out of the car and look, thinking we probably wouldn't need the GPSr for this one, which turned out to be correct. She lifted the cache out and just about had a heart attack as a a "huge" spider headed towards her. She DID drop the cache, but all is well, however, according to her, it was the biggest adrenalin spike she has ever had. Her heart beat faster than on any roller coaster or scary ride she has experienced! Great little hide. Clapping

Today we left Mildura and headed to Nyah along a road we hadn't cached before. This was the first of many GCA caches we came across. The hiding place was established very quickly but we had to wait until a nearby truck in full view [and watching us] left before we could deal with it.
A nice rest area but the drought must have affected this area as we seemed to drive through very dry country with lots of dead kangaroos on the side of the road. Lots of rubbish along the side of the road too but you can't blame the drought for that!!!!!
Thanks, a nice hide.

We were passing this way today on our way to Adelaide to celebrate our younger granddaughter's second birthday so had to stop to look for this cache hidden by one of Tasmania's most enthusiastic supporters of GCA.

It didn't take long to find the well hidden cache and sign the log. The container and contents were in very good condition and the coordinates were spot on.

Thanks for the cache Whitewebbs. It is always good to have plenty of room to pull off the road when looking for a road side cache.
