Description
Oompa-Lumpas
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is a 1964 children's book written by Roald Dahl, with a sequel Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator released in 1972. A third book in the series was never completed. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory has been made into 2 movies, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (1971) starring Gene Wilder, and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005) starring Johnny Depp. They are both favourite films in my household. I'm sure we all know the story about the 5 Golden Tickets and the tour of the factory - as well as the interesting characters and of course the Oompa-Loomps and their quirky songs.
The Oompa-Lumpas - saved from their horrible homeland by Willy Wonka and then enslaved employed in his Chocolate Factory. In the 1971 version they were played by various Dwarves, some of whom couldn't speak English. In the 2005 version they are all played by the one actor - Deep Roy. The DVD for the 2005 version has a 'making of' extra all about how he filmed hundreds of different takes for each scene !
This series of caches plays homage to the ultimate fantasy - owning your own Chocolate Factory - and the final reward for this series is just that! Logs
Thank you for this big series Fitzy! A great effort. I very much enjoyed my morning joy ride out here. Most of the caches are still in good shape, a few are waterlogged and I will try to mention them here at the end if that is the case.
This one was in a nice hiding spot but somehow still the container starts being brittle.
The new film is my favourite.

Enjoyed this series that kept us on our toes collecting clues and collating them right to the end. Even though a couple were missing we still managed to work out the mysteries.

We arrived in the vacinity of GZ for Oompa_Lumpa cache and were dismayed to find a steady streamo of very fast moving traffic. It was several minutes efore a break in the traffic allowed us to cross over. The carefully hidden cache was soon located and the log signed. We collected the information we needed to locate the Chocolate Factory.
The container and contents were in good condition.
It was now time to head back to the car and piece together ythe data we had that would hopefully help us locate the chocolate factory.
Thanks for this cache Fitzy_1965 we have certainly enjoyed this experience and appreciate the effort you put into constructing this series for your fellow cachers to enjoy.
Fair bit of traffic again tonight, few odd looks I'm sure
TFTC Fitzy!
Thanks for the series.
Hence I started this series from the northern end and did have to add a few extra kilometres to complete them all, but a very pleasant drive in the country. I even got to have a chat with Just a Cacher and Black Bunny during my travels, so an added bonus.
Thanks Fitzy_65 for the fun and the cache.
Thanks for the series fitzy_165 ad our vote is for the Gene Wilder version.
Thanks for putting these out, FITZY_1965! It was a pleasant drive and fun to find them. We even ran into (not literally) Boot65, whilst we were out and about.
Grabbed the final clues for the Chocolate Factory and once that was in the GPSr, it was time to head off for it.
Thanks again fitzy....
