Description

The Chocolate Factory

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is a 1964 children's book written by Roald Dahl, with a sequel Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator released in 1972. A third book in the series was never completed. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory has been made into 2 movies, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (1971) starring Gene Wilder, and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005) starring Johnny Depp. They are both favourite films in my household. I'm sure we all know the story about the 5 Golden Tickets and the tour of the factory - as well as the interesting characters and of course the Oompa-Loomps and their quirky songs.

The Chocolate Factory - the Ultimate Prize and Charlie's reward. If you have ever visited a Chocolate factory such as in Hobart or Junee who can ever forget the smell? Or the samples at the end ! If you make it this far then well done !

This series of caches plays homage to the ultimate fantasy - owning your own Chocolate Factory - and the final reward for this series is just that! There are three sets of six Traditional Caches, each with a clue to the seconds of a Mystery Cache. Find the three Mystery Caches, and you unlock the key to the final Mystery Cache - The Chocolate Factory !

Enjoyed this series that kept us on our toes collecting clues and collating them right to the end. Even though a couple were missing we still managed to work out the mysteries. The grand finale that ends the series. Appreciate the time and effort gone into creating this series.

Many thanks Fitzy_1965for publishing this cache and adding to our geocaching experience.

Out by myself today as Joolay is back at work, so decided to come back and finish this seeries. Unfortunately the first one was missing and I had already done 3,4,5 and 6 but I had lost the the required information so had to do them again. It was good to gather the required information from this cache and apply it to the given formula which enabled me to find the mystery caches. TFTC Fitzy_1965. Great series. Went out with Joolay and KittyKatch to grab this awesome series about Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory, just loved the 3 puzzles thrown in to make it more interesting and fun. 2 DNF's made us work harder and we had forgotten to take down the clues from Puzzle 1 and 2 so had to go back and get them, note to self to read everything in the description particularly where clues are involved. After retrieving the other clues we sat down and worked out the final and off we went to GZ and oh fantastic we found it signed the log put back where found and huge High Fives and a photo. thanks Fitzy_1965 for putting out this little series with a twist and fun, great effort put into this lot Very HappyClappingDancing

What a smile we all had on our faces on finding this cache. Was it because the trail was based on a movie favourite? Or because it was all about chocolate? Or the fact that we had to pick up clues from the puzzle finals so that we could make the final find?? All of these things and the lovely way it was all put together and presented. And because even with two of the trads missing, it was still possible to finish the series. Result - everyone is happy. Top power trail Gavin !

Found with Kittykatch and Darzee Di on a SoN GA finding day. Very interesting series and appreciated the effort the CO has gone to. We did do a bit of back and forwarding but eventually worked things out. I really liked the way the caches played out and how you had to be careful to get all the clues.

After manipulating the information obtained from the puzzle caches in this series we had a set of coordinates that would enable us to locate the Chocolate Factory. We moved off and soon found ourselves close to GZ. What a pretty area this is. We feel sure that the large majority of the motorists whizzing past this spot have never stopped to look at the environment noting the beautiful trees, the little creek and the neat banks.

After taking in the scenery we turned our sights on locating the cache. Again the coordinates were very good and we soon had the cache in hand. The container and contents were in excellent condition but alas no chocolate.

So this is the end of our adventure with Roald Dahl and his characters from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Thank you very much Fitzy_1965 for a well planned and exicuted series. We thoroughly enjoyed the journey and will recommend it to our caching friends. We appreciate all that has gone into putting this together.

Last one. A quick find, and not too far from others Smile

Hooray, that concludes the series

TFTC Fitzy - it was a lot of fun. Time to hit the other GCA power trails now (as I type this, SDL is moving the AFL series across)

When I got to "Oompa-Lumpas", I realised that I hadn't read the descriptions properly and neglected to record the information from the puzzle caches, so headed back to the the previous two puzzles to gather the information - then back to GZ for this one! Didn't take too long to backtrack I suppose!

Thanks for the series - a nice way to spend a sunny afternoon.

With no rain as per the forecast, I decided to head out this way after checking out a few element caches.
Hence I started this series from the northern end and did have to add a few extra kilometres to complete them all, but a very pleasant drive in the country. I even got to have a chat with Just a Cacher and Black Bunny during my travels, so an added bonus.
Thanks Fitzy_65 for the fun and the cache.

Yes I drove!!!

Out today with Just a cacher to grab this series and make the most of a pleasant day. Most caches were a quick park and grab after finding a suitable spot to park and all caches were nice and dry after the rain of yesterday. Bumped into Boot65 while on the series run and had a quick chat before heading our separate ways.

Thanks for the series fitzy_165 ad our vote is for the Gene Wilder version.

Off for another short foray into the world of pain and misery (caching). Weather was much better today, though, and we stopped to eat our lunch at an oval where there was a soccer game going on. Nice to have a floor show.

Thanks for putting these out, FITZY_1965! It was a pleasant drive and fun to find them. We even ran into (not literally) Boot65, whilst we were out and about.

#GA1708 - 16:10; On a beautiful Canberra afternoon, I headed out for my third attempt to complete this series and I'm pleased to say that today, I made it to the end of this interestingly themed series. I'd been collecting the information I needed to locate this cache on each of my missions along this road. Did the figuring out and was surprised by the result. Decidxed to check it out anyway and what do you know, I found the cache. Log signed, I was happy that I'd finally made it through to the end of the story. TFTC fitzy_1965 Very HappyClan Cerberus

After completing all the lead up caches and gathering the clues, it was time to head off for final this.

Once I had the co-ords in the GPSr, it was a simple matter of getting back in the car and heading off to GZ. Arrived at GZ and after another short search, the final cache in this neat little series was in hand. Knew the FTF would still be there, but again, was still happy to see the blank log. Log signed and cache was replaced to wait for the next finder.

Thanks fitzy.....enjoy the caches, however the theme was what made it for me. Something different and just shows there are still lots of ideas that can be used for a series..... Very HappyVery Happy
