Description
Have you looked for and find Trig Points (also known as a Trigonometric Station) on Geocaching Australia? If so, how many have you managed to find and claim?
If you've managed to find and claim 500 of them, well here is an extra cache for you to go and find as a reward for all those hikes up those hills. Simply head on out and make the find and then log a find here. Just remember you must have found at least 500 Trigs. I'm sure you know where to look to check if you found 500, but just in case.
From the main page of geocachingaustralia.com.au :
- Click on 'Menu' on the top right hand corner,
- Click on 'Statistics,
- Click on 'Statistics - Graphs of Cachers' View Now,
From there select the following from the drop down boxes:
- Geocaching Australia Only
- All
- Cachers by Finds Trigpoints
(Note: Checking the statistics in this manner will include any Trig Points you may have found in NZ)
Once you've checked the stats to see how many Trig Points you have found, and if you qualify, you can head out to find and log this cache.
A few tips to help you enjoy the walk:
- Allow 2 hours. You can walk to the summit and back in less time, but you have to find the caches, and maybe check the views along the way and certainly from the top,
- Park at these parking co-ords, S35 22.790 E149 04.620
- Find the caches in the numbered sequence,
- Follow the trail to the summit of Mt Taylor. The caches will be off the trail 20-40 metres. After you find the cache, head back to trail the same way. This way you wont miss any.
I will check claims against this reward, and even though I can't delete your log, I can name and shame you on the page....so please, don't log this cache until you have reached the required number of finds.
Have fun...while you find yourself a few more smilies........

Logs
Having done all but one of the (obvious) caches up here my main aim was to finish the Trig Reward Caches. All were found with no problems and they are in good condition.
As of today I have 562 Trigs.
TFTC !!
Cache on....
(Goldenwattle - feel free to log a find without the need to go up there again, unless you want to of course)
Apologies to those who missed it...I'll see what I can do about that. Stand by.....
Now I am going down the hard way, bush bashing and scrambling over boulders, to find a GC puzzle cache. (And it turned out to be about four star terrain.)
Thanks Sol De Lune for this reward series. We appreciate the work that went into selecting the sites and placing the hides. Thanks for the opportunity to review our journey, the trigs we have found, the great views, marvelous monuments and great walks. It is a great series and a fitting reward for all those geocachers who love hunting trig points either in urban or bush environments.
Our journey today was monumental, great weather, mind blowing views, memorable encounters with a variety of muggle walkers, runners and riders and their dogs and of course 10 trig reward caches, 1 multi, 2 GC trads and a trig. And yes we do qualify to log a find on this cache as we recently found our 500th trig point.
We hope many geocachers we see this series as a challenge to help them extend their caching experience.
Thanks again SDL for a really great series.
