Description

The Amazing Boeing 767

I love to Travel, and I love to Fly. I have been very lucky to have traveled a lot around the world for both work and pleasure. A lot of those flights have been on Boeing aircraft. A lot of the domestic and US flights have been on the famous 767 !

Research some data on the 767 (hint hint Wikipedia) to find this Mystery Cache at South 35 1A.BC5 East 149 1D.EF2. The cache is CLEARLY NOT at the posted coords !!

First Flight : 26 September BA8C

Produced : DE8F - present

Operated by QANTAS of course - but all but phased out of service !

BYO Pen.

Happy Hunting.

I needed a few things today, fuel and a Regular sized cache. Since this redwood forest has been re-opened and the cache has been maintained, I decided to give it a go. A small music group were having some images taken right at the car park, but that did not stop me walking across to today's caches. The trees have been heavily pruned, but seem in pretty poor condition. I hope this rain gives them a chance to get growing again. I was happy to find this one, the only one of the four GA caches I was able to locate today.

Thanks
Albida

Had to drive to Queanbeyan to get parts for the car and stopped off at a few places to get my exercise for the day, a couple short hikes from Queanbeyan to get some GCs and a nice hike in Redwood forest to collect mostly GCAs.

Found among the needle leaves, coords are good and made it straight forward, at least to know which 2-3 trees could be it here in the open. A stick helped to reveal where to duck through the branches.

Thanks for the cache fitzy!

With Upoj now non-responsive due to a significant hardware and software problem Sad, it was time to turn to the smart phone despite the President of the Free World's edict that they are not to be used. Shocked At least Xiānshēng Huawei was able to get me close enough to allow the caching senses to eventually nab the find at 15:05.

TNLNSL. Thanks fitzy_1965.

Found this cache on the way to, at or on the way home from the Mega at Clearwaters. My trip to the Mega was great, found lab caches which while like gadgets are new icons to me. Found some great caches and brought back some neat ideas for new caches in Tasmania.

Day 4 Mega Road trip. Arrived at Queanbeyan today for the Clear Waters Mega and headed out to find a few caches in the Pialligo Redwood Forest with Tassie Trekkers and Gullivers Travels54. A lovely area to explore. Enjoyed solving the puzzle. Wow the planes seemed very close above the highway as we headed here. TFTP

After finding the traditionals in this series yesterday we realised there were several mystery/puzzle caches also. Last night while sitting in our motel room we solved the three of them and decided to locate them prior to the event that brought us to town.
Last for the morning in this series. again the cache was found quickly and is is good condition, this is another one we walked past yesterday.
Thanks for the hide fitzy_1965.

A beautiful, but cool second day of Spring. Near windless conditions contrasted sharply with yesterday. I headed off to the airport today & grabbed a few caches while I was in the area. All quiet, apart from the planes, in most locations, being father's day & all. No DNFs today.

Are these redwoods or plane trees ?

Thanks

I decided to use these convenient caches to fill in a few days of my streak.

Its only a short detour on the way in to Canberra and work. Parked in the familiar car park for the short walk to GZ and the find.

Thanks for the interesting puzzle !

We first visited this park some years ago and were pleased when we saw a number of new caches published there recently. We cannot remember the heights of the redwood trees when we last visited but wondered today if the redwoods liked the area and the climate. We know that redwoods are very slow growing but they did not appear to be thriving. Hopefully we are wrong as this is a unique reserve. We walked an approximate circular route looking for eleven caches and we managed to find them all. We enjoyed the Boeing series of caches, learning a little about the differences between the various models. Online research soon gave us the information we needed to solve the puzzle. Accurate coordinates and a familiar style of hide led to a quick find. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks fitzy_1965 for the puzzle, cache and the series.

Found 3:47pm with my girlfriend, seventh find for the day. A fairly quick and easy puzzle and find. We pretty much knew what we were looking for we thought and it wasn't difficult. Cooords are pretty good. Interesting history on some of these planes too!!
Thanks for the cache.

Decided to head out and take a lovely stroll around this neck of the woods.......again. I had the place to myself apart from a rascally rabbit or two. A very pleasant stroll and no dramas locating my targets.
Thanks Fitzy_65 for the cache, the fun and the stats on the planes while some were creating some noise pollution in the distance.

#GA1680 - 13:30; An unexpected opportunity to go caching presented itself while I was out and about with the geohoney. She wanted some time in the city to shop, so I decided to head out to Redwood Park, which wasn't far from the drop off point, to give the CO's new series a try. Dropped Sol de lune a line in case he was already in the area. He wasn't, but changed plans and we met up to tackle the new caches in the area. It was such an impromptu mission, we had to load the coordinates for all of the caches into our GPSrs as neither of us had run an update to capture the new caches before leaving home. Once that was done, we collected the moveable then headed off on a clockwise circuit of the park caching as we went. We had to take care with this one as there was a muggle who looked like he was building himself a shelter not too far from GZ. We managed to stay out of site as we managed another quick find, with another blank log for another joint *FTF*. TFTC fitzy_1965 Very HappyClan Cerberus

Was heading towards the Barton Highway to finish off the series out that way when LuckyL10n rang and suggested a run around this park to grab the new ones here. So my plans changed and I was off to visited the Redwood Forest again. Once at the park we headed off on a walk around the area grabbing the caches as we went. Had solved the mystery caches earlier so it all was good and we had the area covered and all the caches found.

Thanks fitzy.....neat area for the well named caches.....
