Description

The Amazing Boeing 727

I love to Travel, and I love to Fly. I have been very lucky to have traveled a lot around the world for both work and pleasure. A lot of my early flights were on the Boeing 727 - flown by both Ansett and TAA !

All have long gone from our skies.

BYO Pen.

Happy Hunting.

Had to drive to Queanbeyan to get parts for the car and stopped off at a few places to get my exercise for the day, a couple short hikes from Queanbeyan to get some GCs and a nice hike in Redwood forest to collect mostly GCAs.

Quick find among the needle leaves, coords are good and made it straight forward. I had a hunch here how I would hide it and that led me straight to it the first place I dug Smile could be hard as it is invisible after some time of needles shead from the tree.
Thanks for the cache fitzy!

I didn't find this one. Sad

This was the last find before my main hardware decided to pack it in. Sad AT least it guided me well to GZ where I soon had the stash in hand at 14:50.

TNLNSL. Thanks fitzy_1965.

Found during my adventures at the Clear Waters mega. Thank you for all the caches!

Hmmm, I thought this walk was going to be longer than it has been so far. On the map it looks bigger. But out here in the sun it's not as nice as under the big trees.

Found this cache on the way to, at or on the way home from the Mega at Clearwaters. My trip to the Mega was great, found lab caches which while like gadgets are new icons to me. Found some great caches and brought back some neat ideas for new caches in Tasmania.

A beautiful, but cool second day of Spring. Near windless conditions contrasted sharply with yesterday. I headed off to the airport today & grabbed a few caches while I was in the area. All quiet, apart from the planes, in most locations, being father's day & all. No DNFs today.

A B727 was the first plan I ever flew on. Sydney to Brisbane in about 1980. I remember being impressed with the acceleration at takeoff.

Thanks

What a surprising little plantation! A great little collection of caches here. TFTC Very Happy

I had trouble with GPS reception here. I think the trees were causing it to jump all over the place. A muggle came along so I left it on the first attempt and came back later in my walk. Approaching from a different direction, the GPS took me to a different tree where the cache was quickly found.

I decided to use these convenient caches to fill in a few days of my streak.

Its only a short detour on the way in to Canberra and work. Parked in the familiar car park for the short walk to GZ and the find.

Thanks !

We first visited this park some years ago and were pleased when we saw a number of new caches published there recently. We cannot remember the heights of the redwood trees when we last visited but wondered today if the redwoods liked the area and the climate. We know that redwoods are very slow growing but they did not appear to be thriving. Hopefully we are wrong as this is a unique reserve. We walked an approximate circular route looking for eleven caches and we managed to find them all. We enjoyed the Boeing series of caches, learning a little about the differences between the various models. Accurate coordinates and a familiar style of hide led to a quick find. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks fitzy_1965 for the cache and the series.

Found 3:28pm with my girlfriend, fifth find for the day. Decided to make our way around in an anti-clockwise approach. I had been out here in this area previously and found a couple but I didn't have all the information readily available to look for the other caches around here and then only discovered a bit before leaving how many GA caches were in the area. By that time as well my iPhone GPS battery was pretty much flat so gave it a miss that day to come back another.
Today armed with all the cache cords, and I worked out those related puzzle caches, we came back. When we found this we pretty much knew what we were to expect for the other caches. The area could use a couple of park / picnic benches. A quick find, cords are pretty good.
Thanks for the cache.

Sixteenth for the day, and a cache around the Forrest with Kittycatch

Easy and Fun finds, that's the way I like my caches. TFTC Fitzy!

A nice sunny Sunday morning to wander through the redwood forest finding caches. Some problems with looking in the wrong tree due to bad signal, but found okay by looking in the surrounding ones. Thanks for this enjoyable series of caches.

Visiting Canberra this weekend for a grand daughters birthday I was looking for a D/T of 2.5/2 to complete my 3x3 grid. One of five finds in this park this morning all with the same rating. thanks for placing.

Before some shopping I went for a short walk around this forest. As usual the trees make the final finds a bit of a challenge, but I managed the five traditional caches today.

Thanks

Decided to head out and take a lovely stroll around this neck of the woods.......again. I had the place to myself apart from a rascally rabbit or two. A very pleasant stroll and no dramas locating my targets.
Thanks Fitzy_65 for the cache, the fun and the stats on the planes while some were creating some noise pollution in the distance.

#GA1682 - 13:40; An unexpected opportunity to go caching presented itself while I was out and about with the geohoney. She wanted some time in the city to shop, so I decided to head out to Redwood Park, which wasn't far from the drop off point, to give the CO's new series a try. Dropped Sol de lune a line in case he was already in the area. He wasn't, but changed plans and we met up to tackle the new caches in the area. It was such an impromptu mission, we had to load the coordinates for all of the caches into our GPSrs as neither of us had run an update to capture the new caches before leaving home. Once that was done, we collected the moveable then headed off on a clockwise circuit of the park caching as we went. This cache represented our furthest point from the start and we again spotted the cache reasonably quickly. We were again greeted by another blank log signed for another joint *FTF*. Was heading towards the Barton Highway to finish off the series out that way when LuckyL10n rang and suggested a run around this park to grab the new ones here. So my plans changed and I was off to visited the Redwood Forest again. Once at the park we headed off on a walk around the area grabbing the caches as we went. Had solved the mystery caches earlier so it all was good and we had the area covered and all the caches found.

Thanks fitzy.....neat area for the well named caches.....
