Description

Helium

Helium is a chemical element with symbol He and atomic number 2. It is a colorless, odorless, tasteless, non-toxic, inert, monatomic gas, the first in the noble gas group in the periodic table. Its boiling point point is the lowest among all the elements.

After hydrogen, helium is the second lightest and second most abundant element in the observable universe, being present at about 24% of the total elemental mass, which is more than 12 times the mass of all the heavier elements combined. This means there will be fancy balloons and funny voices for many years to come.

This series of caches is dedicated to the Elements and the Periodic Table. While my aim is to get them all out eventually - they will broken down into subsets of caches - in this case 7 caches, 6 Traditionals and a Puzzle cache as follows :

Trad - GA10205 Hydrogen (find 'a')

Trad - GA10206 Helium (find 'b')

Trad - GA10207 Lithium (find 'c')

Trad - GA10208 Beryllium (find 'd')

Trad - GA10209 Boron (find 'e')

Trad - GA10210 Carbon (find 'f')

which you can then use to find

Mystery - GA10211 Nitrogen (find 'AA' for future reference) at S35 10.abc E149 14.def

Good Luck and Happy Hunting !

A quick find on a spectacular day. Thanks for the cache fitzy_1965

I was heading out to Sutton to visit the last few caches along mulligans flat road, and I felt I could not drive past these last two element caches again.

Thanks

I was with the CO when this series was put out. Now I have my own GCA account I have been given permission to log them.

I always enjoyed chemistry at school - just like my Dad !

Sorry about the generic log Fitzy_1965 but. I have lots of puzzles to solve tonight.
Today I decided to take advantage of the fabulous weather and the May Madness and go caching with the GCA caches in my sight. There were plenty to be had so I planned a circuit up to Gunning and then across to Sutton and home again via the Federal highway service road. Had to do a detour via Breadalbane to avoid driving back through a large Road Bike Race but all is well.
I found all 6 in the series but ran out of time to go for the final. Another day. All logs were signed some as SG and caches returned to their hidey holes. Thanks for the series Fitzy_1965. Dancing

Found today with Kittykatch out and about on a lovely sunny afternoon. Of course we started on the wrong end as we did not realise there was a puzzle but took no time to finish the series. Thanks Fitzy for bringing us here. It was nice to be out in some country. Dancing

Interesting to be out on the old highway once more. I remember bits of this road very well ! Thanks again Fitzy Smile

Grabbed this as a series of drive by snatches. I did my best impression of a tradie stopping to take a call on my mobile. TFTC Very Happy

Yesterday I found the first of this series when taking a walk from the IBIS Styles where I was staying. This morning as I left for the day for first chore for the day was to drive by and stop at each of the rest of this series and when all 6 had been found using the information taken from each moved on to the final of this series of six caches.

After finding hydrogen it was on to helium. We remembered the difficulties we had with our year twelve male chemistry students who wanted to use the helium gas we kept for filling balloons, used in a range of chemistry and physics experiments,to make their voices go squeaky.

The cache was where the GPS and hint said it should be and was in good condition.

Thanks for a second cache in this series Fitzy_1965.

Found 5:52pm. I was on my way back to Canberra from the Central Coast and had my eye on this group of caches so stopped to grab them and sign the logs. Yes same as the others. Very Quick find. But still got to wait for muggle vehicles, so many at this time of day.
Thanks for the cache.

Nice easy find. Thanks.

First for the day, bit of traffic which was odd, but nothing so much that I didn't have a quiet time to collect. A quick and fun series. TFTC Fitzy!

02-Jun-17
Another quick stop on the way to work this morning. There was a car parked slightly further ahead of where I parked but I think that he was sleeping (on closer inspection when I left). Managed to sign log before any other cars passed which was rather surprising given the time of day. Returned it safely to its hidey hole and went on my merry way.

#GA1759 - 13:15; I came out to collect this one yesterday to plug a hole in the dragonZone calendar, but muggle activity meant I had to keep moving on to the next in the series. No problem here today though and noticed while signing the log that I was the second visitor for the day! Looking forward to completing the rest of the series and wondering when the remaining 111 will appear. TFTC fitzy_1965 Very HappyClan Cerberus

Decided to grab this series on the way home - All done before it got too dark. Done in the reverse order which meant some backtracking at the end, but not too far.

Thanks,

With no rain as per the forecast, I decided to head out this way and grab a cache or two. No worries finding all in the series and I too look forward to seeing the full set / table.
Thanks Fitzy_65 for the fun and the cache.

18-May-17
Another new series of caches and another reason to head out. The whole periodic table you say....well, I look forward to finding them all.

Todays little sojourn took me down a road I have been down before, with one of the caches right outside a horse property I've been to many times. Didn't look like anyone was home today, so it was on to the next one.

Thanks fitzy, a neat little series that has so many options for a puzzle or two. Look forward to finding a few more.

Just a cacher spotted these caches hitting the ether tonight so we decided to head out to bag a few.

A nice elementary drive by grab for a *FTF* with Jac.

Thanks for the cache series fitzy_1965.

As we get older, the lure of a nice warm bed grows, but just as we were thinking about it these caches were published, so we managed to delay being sad old people for a little while. Smile
Thanks, Fitzy_1965, for placing these nice easy caches.

*FTF* with Black Bunny on a pleasant evening drive.
