Description

Nitrogen

Nitrogen is a chemical element with symbol N and atomic number 7. It was first discovered and isolated by Scottish physician Daniel Rutherford in 1772. Nitrogen is the lightest member of group 15 of the periodic table, often called the pnictogens. The name comes from the Greek πνίγειν "to choke", directly referencing nitrogen's asphyxiating properties. It is a common element in the universe, estimated at about seventh in total abundance in the Milky Way, the  Solar System, and the Masterchef Kitchen.

This series of caches is dedicated to the Elements and the Periodic Table. While my aim is to get them all out eventually - they will broken down into subsets of caches - in this case 7 caches, 6 Traditionals and a Puzzle cache as follows :

Trad - GA10205 Hydrogen (find 'a')

Trad - GA10206 Helium (find 'b')

Trad - GA10207 Lithium (find 'c')

Trad - GA10208 Beryllium (find 'd')

Trad - GA10209 Boron (find 'e')

Trad - GA10210 Carbon (find 'f')

which you can then use to find

Mystery - GA10211 Nitrogen (find 'AA' for future reference) at S35 10.abc E149 14.def

Good Luck and Happy Hunting !

On a cool smokey morning I went out towards Lake George to get a few of the Australian Animals series and a few of these elements on the way back. The day went smoothly and I located each of the caches i looked for. A fun morning of roadside caches.

Thanks

Found today with Kittykatch out and about on a lovely sunny afternoon. Of course we started on the wrong end as we did not realise there was a puzzle but took no time to finish the series. Thanks Fitzy for bringing us here. It was nice to be out in some country. Dancing

Found a nice sized cache at gz and signed the log book and were on our way. We didn't pick up the AA clue though, so I will save the coords for GZ and head back to get that clue. Thanks for the fun Fitzy !

Yesterday I found the first of this series when taking a walk from the IBIS Styles where I was staying. This morning as I left for the day for first chore for the day was to drive by and stop at each of the rest of this series and when all 6 had been found using the information taken from each moved on to the final of this series of six caches.

And finally we reached nitrogen, one of the students favorite elements. Regularly used in its liquid form to shatter squash balls, bananas and roses during science shows it is always popular. Younger students always asked how they could make it or where they could get it after a visit to Questicon or a similar science show. Liquid nitrogen is also used in medical practises.to burn off skin growths including warts.

We used the data collected from the six traditional caches to calculate the final coordinates for this cache which we found tucked away in a familiar place. We recorded the data provided in this cache and will store it away for future reference.

Thanks for this cache Fitzy_1965 for the series and for the fun we had as we went from one element to the next. Who said that a sistema in a guard rail couldn't be fun.

#GA1901 - 18:00; After grabbing the last piece of the puzzle yesterday in the wet, I thought it might have been more of the same today. While it was mostly overcast, the rain was holding off as I homed in on this one for a quick find and sign. I got a bit of a surprise when I encountered a mob of roos on my way here, but managed to avoid any issues! TFTC fitzy_1965 Very HappyClan Cerberus

Decided to grab this series on the way home - All done before it got too dark. Done in the reverse order which meant some backtracking at the end, but not too far.

Thanks,

With no rain as per the forecast, I decided to head out this way and grab a cache or two. No worries finding all in the series and I too look forward to seeing the full set / table.
Thanks Fitzy_65 for the fun and the cache.

Gathered all the required clues as I found the 6 qualifying caches and then set about working out GZ. Easy enough, and once the GZ was in the GPSr, it was a little drive to head off and find it. Soon had GZ in my sights and soon after the cache was in hand.

Good to see BB and JAC had been out last night...and now my name was in the log book as well.

Thanks fitzy...looking forward to the next ones.

Just a cacher spotted these caches hitting the ether tonight so we decided to head out to bag a few.

A nice elementary drive by grab for a *FTF* with Jac.

Thanks for the cache series fitzy_1965.

As we get older, the lure of a nice warm bed grows, but just as we were thinking about it these caches were published, so we managed to delay being sad old people for a little while. Smile
Thanks, Fitzy_1965, for placing these nice easy caches.

*FTF* with Black Bunny on a pleasant evening drive.
