Description

Oxygen

Oxygen is a chemical element with chemical symbol O and atomic number 8.   By mass, oxygen is the third-most abundant element in the universe, after hydrogen and helium. At standard temperature and pressure, two atoms of the element bind to form dioxygen, a colorless and odorless diatomic gas with the formula O2. This is an important part of the atmosphere and diatomic oxygen gas constitutes 20.8% of the Earth's atmosphere. Additionally, as oxides the element makes up almost half of the earth's crust. Common use of oxygen includes residential heating, internal combustion engines, production of steel, plastics and textiles, brazing, welding and cutting of steels and other metals, rocket propellant, oh - and Breathing !!!

This series of caches is dedicated to the Elements and the Periodic Table. While my aim is to get them all out eventually - they will broken down into subsets of caches - in this case 7 caches, 6 Traditionals and a Puzzle cache as follows :

A great second day of caching in the ACT and Queanbeyan. Today not so much numbers, but lots of fun. After a few local caches in Queanbeyan it was of into the beautiful Molonglo george and then to the event in Queanbeyan before doing the long drive home.

It was late in the afternoon when we set off to look for the next set in this series. Plenty of oxygen still available dispite the volume of traffic rushing by.

The cache was located in a familiar hiding spot, log signed, clue recorded and cache returned. The drivers who were passing by were intent on getting to their destinations as fast as possible didn't give us a second glance.

Cache and contents were in good condition.

Thanks for another cache in the elements series Fitzy_1965.

#1998 - 14:30; After finishing off the first part of this series recently, decided that I should make a start on stage 2 today. Headed out along familiar roads and soon found myself at GZ. On the wrong side of the road, but there wasn't any traffic to speak of, so I crossed safely and soon had my name in the log. TFTC fitzy_1965 Very HappyClan Cerberus

The boys and girls from work were hanging around a bit longer than usual for a Thursday night, and with the late finish, I had time to swing by and grab this cache on the way home. Arrived just after 0100 in the pitch black, but with the GZ area right in front of me, the car headlights were enough to show me the way to the cache. Cache was soon in hand, log signed and the clue noted. Then it was back to the car and home to bed.....mainly because I have to be back at the workplace by 1300. It's all fun though.

Thanks fitzy....just a couple of days to the final.

A nice quick park and find. Good on a cold windy day. Thanks
