The traffic was quite thick this afternoon and whizzed by as we looked for this cache. The cache was located in a familiar hide and we found the container and its contents to be in good condition. We recorded the information we needed for the finàl in this set. We then but everything bach as found.
We both have sodium stories but perhaps one of favorites comes from our year 12 class's presentation to the some of the primary school students during science week. One enthusiastic demonstrator was talking about the properties of metals and cut off a marble size piece of sodium which he then proceeded to drop into a trough of water. With a fizz and a flash and a burst of smoke and flame the sodium caught fire, became airbourne, and landed on the carpet where the burning continued until it was extinguished. As the sodium took off the student said 'Oh sh....ivers Sue I think that piece was a little big.'
Thanks for this cache Fitzy and for a chance to recall some of our sodium experiences.
Nice and simple drive-by find - love it ! Info noted and I headed off to work.
