Description

At the listed coordinates you will get a great view out over the hills and the valley downstream from the weir. You will also find a sign with information about Mundaring Reservoir and Weir.

You will need to find the following information to solve the coordinates. The cache Coordinates are S 31 57.ABC E 116 9.DEF

South Coordinates - the total of the following (the surface area at full storage + Concrete in wall (first 3 digits) + thickness of wall at lowest takeoff level (first 2 digits) - 262 = ABC

East Coordinates - the total of the following (the roue length + length of wall + height of wall above river bed) - 461 DEF

You will have a short drive to the cache location and here you will have a view out over the weir and the valley.

Mundaring Weir is open every day of the week until 6pm (closes at 5pm from May to September). Access can still be made by parking near the hotel and walk in to the site.

*However access to the Weir itself is closed due to a major upgrade of infrastructure until November 2017.***

Left home early this morning for a cache run in the hills with hhheddy
This being my first out of fifteen finds for the day, zero DNF.
Thank you for bringing us to this location we otherwise would have missed!

Out in the hills finding caches for the day. Picked up a mixture of GC and GCA caches all with differing DT ratings. Hopefully filling a couple more on the grid. This is one lookout I didn't know existed, Great views over the pumping station and weir. Once we stopped looking at the views we moved to the right area and quickly located the cache. Shame there are so few finders of this cache. many thanks dezzabills for bringing me here.

WOOHOO!! FTF at 4pm! I finally got this right, and made my way to the cache location for a quick and easy find at GZ. Thanks for the fun multi dezzabills! Clan Griffin

I tried to solve this one a few days ago and had a look at my calculated GZ, but realised when I got home that the checker didn't agree with me. I checked my figures and came up with a much better GZ, but the checker still didn't agree with me, so I contacted the CO and he kindly pointed me in the right direction. So this afternoon I came out armed with what I thought were the correct coords, but once at the location the GPS pointed me to I realised there was no cache here. I put my coords into the checker, and it still said no, so I tried walking the line in both directions for a while, but I couldn't find the cache today.
