Description
Edgey - Western Ring Path
The Western Ring Path is the continuation of the Western Freeway Path along the Western Ring Road and provide more opportunity for some walking or cycling along a nicely made asphalt path way. This small section of the path is very noisy as you make your way alongside the very busy freeway. But if you're up for the challenge then this little section is only about 800m long and you should be able to park close enough to each end to make these geocaches a brisk walk and grab. This is a 200ml Sistema container hidden in the usual style of this path where are few things of wood and more things of stone.

I was feeling a little edgey here, being so close to the traffic but as it is peak hour, no one even noticed the lone cacher grabbing smileys along the trail.
Shame on me! I walked straight past the SPOR and around onto the high ground.
The cache was found in good order. Signed, replaced and covered.
Thanks for the series and the cache C@W.

After a morning of Lax I decided to grab the treddly and ride home.
Bypassing from Newport and caching thru Sunshine before heading back towards the west.
I bypassed down the Western Ring Road Bike Track for some smileys.
I replaced the bollard that was ripped out.
Then got a smiley.

I know this intersection well... just around the corner from my favourite TB hotel. Not enough time to go there tonight, though.
------
Well.
This wasn't the day I'd planned, but family matters had turned the weekend on its head. Between sleeping in after the fun of caching in the dark until so late it was almost early, and staying at home to referee while the better half ran some errands, it wasn't until mid afternoon that I rolled out the gate.
Finally logging my first cache for the day after crossing the Whitten Bridge, I continued anticlockwise around the Ring Road, bagging 42 finds, and a handful of DNFs.
Thanks, C@W... today's haul has gone a long way toward my ambition of getting my GA logs over 10% of the GC total.

This was the last of the Western Ring Path caches for us. Again it would have speeded up the process if we had read the clue before hand. As we hadn't and our GPS was having a little hissy and spinning uncontrollably this cache took longer to find than was necessary. After putting her GPS down and doing a quick circuit of the area Mrs Y'stassie identified a couple of possible hiding places. She found the cache in the third place she looked - checking the container size would also have helped, no need to check spots that would only hold a bison tube.
Container and contents were in good condition.
Thanks for this cache Caughtatwork and for the series of caches along the pathways beside the Western Ring Road. They have certainly given us a clearer picture of the regions this freeway runs through and we have, on a whole, enjoyed walking the paths.

#GA1912 - 14:09; Day two of a caching mission to Victoria with Sol de lune. Our major goal for the week is to complete the SSS and other series along the Western Freeway/Ring Road and to then collect enough GCA caches around Docklands to bring our total finds for the day to 100+ which would build our trophy cabinets a bit more as we complete a few more 'missions'. This was one of 82 finds in just under 6 hours along the various series, where we only had the one DNF! We had now finished the 'ring path' to the north and after some lunch now headed east again on the home stretch. Grabbed this one after collecting a bonus GC cache near the road crossing we took. Apologies for the mostly generic logs. TFTC caughtatwork

After grabbing lunch nearby, it was time for LuckyL10n and I to start the last leg of these caches. A bit of shelter as we headed along this path so the riding was a little easier without the wind in our faces.
All was good with the caches and all were found in good condition.
Thanks for the continuing series C@W.....

This morning my auntie 'cathlud' came to watch me play hockey and then we did some geocaching on our way home.
My auntie let me use her GPS and I followed the arrow until I found the cache. I found a pathtag in this cache.
Thank you for placing this cache.

After picking my niece (PrincessFiona) up from Yarraville we were ready for a few hours of geocaching along the Western Ring Rd Path, on our way home. Earlier in the week I noticed that four new caches had been added to the path and this morning the FTF glory was still unclaimed.
We parked in Plummer Rd and took a short walk along the path to find the four caches up to Piper Rd. PrincessFiona was in charge of the GPSr and I used my geosense. Finding four blank logs was a highlight for the princess and also finding a few pathtags to add to her small collection.
Thank you caughtatwork for the series.
