Hi sirius
A quick "raid" on the NW Coast to look for GAs proved to be a long day
I travelled just short of the 900 km
My total finds cost me 11034 steps; 1825 calories in walking 8.58 km to make them
Having looked at doing this cache before; but never tried to get to it; BUT today I parked in the right position and set off for the cache
Took one way in and another out - the "out" way was easier than the "in" way off the beach
A great spot with excellent scenery
Another of your excellent caches now Sainted
TFTC and cheers

Today I went looking for this one, from the lookout I could almost reach this cache as it was only 30m away. But looking down that drop I thought no way am I going down over there. So I thought what other way could I get to this cache. On inspection I worked out that I could drive down the road and walk along the side of the railway to get around to the area, once at GZ a quick find lead to the log being signed then it was back to the car to go to the next cache.
TFTC Sirius tas this was a most enjoyable cache.

Great to see that you were up for a challenge, great effort 2y'stassies on scoring another FTF...and well deserved too.
We knew that getting to this cache would be challenging when it was published. We decided we needed fine weather so delayed our assault until today. Arrived at a suitable parking spot where GPS indicated that the cache was 31m to the north across THERE. No easy access here as the cliff is almost vertical, there is evidence of slippage and we do not carry abseiling equipment. After surveying the area we decided that there was no way across that did not involve sliding down a steep bank covered with blackberries and other climber which probably concealed all manner of rubbish that passerbys had turfed over the edge. Much of this rubbish is not visible. If we did manage to get down we then had to get up the other side. No visible access and if you fell you'd land on the railway track. Time to reassess.
Decided to go back to Hughes' corner and look for access. We were now 360m to the west of GZ. No immediately obvious way other than walking along the railway line then maybe onto the beach and up the western side. After walking beside the track we found the way to the beach to be very overgrown and steeper than we remember for past trips to the little beach and across to the island at low tide. The only option was to continue along the railway track until we reached the cutting. As we approached the cutting we noticed and access point and a small track through the periwinkles that headed up the hill. A short but slow trip to the top and a great view - well worth the trip.
GZ was located, coordinates as usual were spot on, and the well hidden container extracted. Container and contents were in excellent condition and the log book was blank. {FTF} at 11:55.
After replacing the container and taking a few photos we headed quickly back as we had to walk on the railway line where there was little room to get off in places save for jumping into the tangled mess down the bank on the sea side. We knew that there is usually a train coming through Ulverstone between 11:30 and 13:00 so we didn't want to be caught on the track. We were almost back to our parking spot when we heard the track horn as it started to make its way along the line at Sulphur Creek. Glad we had a little time to spare.
Thanks Sirius Tas for our morning challenge and another great caching experience. Top Cache.
