Description
All you need to access the log is at the cache.
This gadget cache is located on a previous section of the New England Highway, now the scenic backroad loop of Barleyfields Road. A deviation in 1980 eliminated this section containing the railway crossing and narrow viaduct. Hard now to imagine this narrow winding road was once part of the highway.
In July 1982 the nearby dam was the scene of a reenactment of the bushranger Thunderbolt's last day. Chased by Constable Walker, 'Thunderbolt' had to swim across the dam. In a heavy coat on a Uralla July day, this was quite a feat!
Don't feel intimidated that the cache is attached to private property, the owner is fully aware of it.
There's parking for normal size vehicles at the side of the road or at the gate.
Congratulations karsen - FTF

Thanks geono.
Approaching this I was wondering about the name. Holy hell, this wasn't much fun in the rain. Nah, honestly it really was fun. Had me smiling non-stop once I got momentum. Council workers were earning their wages driving up and down the road over and over again. No doubt they were wondering what the hell I was up to. haha.
And now it's the fun time of writing all the logs (or copying and pasting them to be entirely honest) whilst having a bite to eat and a local pale ale at the Top Pub. Still waiting for the meal. Beer is good though.
As for the cache, well, my first though was how are we going to do this....looks like a lot of hands required. LuckyL10n then has an idea...and then we found the tools...ok that makes a bit of sense. So after a bit of work LL soon had the cache in hand and we signed the log.
Nice one geono....something different yet again. Recommended.

After leaving Tamworth, we are now in Uralla and did a bit of caching around town with Tassie Trekkers. We had GCA caches on our list and GEONO caches. This was a great cache. TFTGC
Finding the hide was easy enough but finding the ‘tools’ to get the cache out took a bit longer. (If they had teeth they could’ve bitten our toes )
Then we set to work. Slowly... slowly, oops. Perseverance paid off. Was a lot of fun retrieving this one.
Two visitors in 2 days!!! Wonderful!
Thanks for another beaut cache in Uralla.
