Description

In the series of Trains In The Shire: Caringbah.

Caringbah station opened on 16 December 1939 when the Cronulla line opened from Sutherland to Cronulla. Part of the platform is directly under the Kingsway.

Caringbah was originally one of two stations on the single track, the other being Gymea. On 15 July 1985, the line from Gymea to Caringbah was duplicated with a new track laid north of the existing single line.

This was last of the Caringbah GCA trio before heading back to the ranch for some tucker. It took a moment or two before I finally spotted the hide at 18:20 and with the log signed and cache replaced, I was on my way. Very Happy

TNLNSL. Many thanks once again Team MavEtJu.

Slowly making my way along the TITS line. Another easy to find hide. Love it when there are no muggles about and today GZ was empty.

I have a reason to start doing some local GA caches.
Given that my GC goal is to lift the D/T rating to 1.9/1.9 for my 8,000th find (I am on 6,400 @ 1.82/1.79 now) and that we are doing the York Peninsular power trail in March (over 400 in a day mostly 1.5/1.5 and nearly 1,000 all up), I am trying to avoid doing any GC caches under a 3/3.
With this handicap and the Journey or Destination game drawing to a close, it is time to spread my wings and keep caching by doing GA caches and at the same time try to get myself into a position where I will win a PathTag.
Thanks for providing caches.
Just got 40 points when I needed 15. Now I need 10, sure.

On the way to Wollonong today decided to go via some of the train stations got to Como, Jannali, too busy at Sutherland, found Loftus, missed Engadine found Heathcote, I was running late to where I needed to be so didn’t stop at Waterfall. On the way back home had to drop my friend at Caringbah so finished the day finding Caringbah

Caringbah was the last stop for the day and took a while to get with all the vehicles coming in and out of the driveway & the NRMA turned up looking at me thinking I was the one he was looking for but it was a guy in the nearby units who had been sitting on the brick wall when I first got there. In the end everyone moved off so I went in for a quick grab so I could sign it away from GZ but blackberry is starting to grow there and it caught my shoe laces. Got away walked to the brick wall.

Signed the log and replaced as found. Both the cache and log are in good condition. Thanks for the cache Team MavEtJu

#GA2755 - 16:20; Day six of the 2018 Oz GeoMuster mission with Sol de lune. After a night in Kempsey, the plan for today was to cache southward through Harrington, Crowdy Head, Forster Tuncurry and then in to Sydney, in particular Rockdale and Cronulla to set up for an assault on a series of puzzle caches tomorrow morning. After another early start we soon found ourselves in Harrington, then on to Crowdy Head for the trig and the lighthouse out there. After checking out the views in Crowdy Head, it was back to the highway for a while before taking the turn off for Forster and a couple more finds. Took the tourist drive back out of town, emerging near Bulahdelah and then south along the highway back to Lake Macquarie to collect a couple more caches on the way past and then to check in on the remnants of the Mega crowd in Morisset before setting off for Sydney. Made it through the traffic much better than we did on the outward leg and soon found ourselves in Rockdale where we added another dZ to our found list. Just need the locals to get some caches into Marrickville and Ashfield now to complete the set in Sydney. It was then time to head into The Shire for a last run for the evening before setting up camp for the night. Almost turned this one into a park and grab, so enjoyed a quick find and sign. Day 6 of the Sol de Lune / LuckyL10n great northern escape. Or better put, a run up the NSW coast after attending the Morisset event.

After an overnight stop at Kempsey and a visit to Crowdy Head, Forster and Rockdale, this was our next stop....after a long drive and battling the Sydney traffic. (Don't tell anyone but the traffic was pretty good today)

Managed to park almost on top of GZ, but then backed off and after a short search, the cache was in hand.

Thanks for an interesting series...I'd like to have found more, but they simply got away from us. DohDoh
