Description

Dragon Zone has many Trophy Challenges, some of which require careful planning to achieve

One of the Dragon Zone challenges is to move 10 or more moveables at least 1000km. As we are making a fleeting visit to Perth (WA) in late July, we are going to attempt that challenge. However, there are less than 10 moveables in Tassie that we haven't already found and that we could find and move to WA. We needed more moveables.

After consulting Baldrick (of "cunning plan" fame), we thought that we would publish some new moveables at the "Th' Lost Loot O' Mary Hyde" event in Launceston on Sunday 16 July 2017, give those pirates attending an opportunity to find the moveables and then, after finding them ourselves, we would take the moveable caches to WA to meet the challenge requirements. This is one of the 7 we published specifically for the Gragon Zone Challenge.

Once in Perth, this moveable can be found and moved anywhere - there are no restrictions. We may even see them back in the Eastern states at some time in the future.

Called in but could not find the cache. We checked quite a few spots around GZ which matched the hint, but found nothing.

I'll contact the last hider to see if I can gather some more info on the hide as there were several possibilities further afield but with my parking about to run out we couldn't search any longer.

This guy might be wanting to Head West, but at the moment he's enjoying the Grass is Greener music festival at the Broadwater Parklands today. Made it impossible to go and find him at the moment. Will keep an eye on him, and hope to be back in the area in a few weeks, although if someone else comes through - be our guest.

In the meantime HW, enjoy Peking Duk, their set starts at 9pm. Dancing

Day 4 of a 5 day caching run around south east Queensland with LuckyL10n.

After leaving Nanango we headed for Brisbane via Toowoomba and stopped to grab to the GCA caches that were in the area of our travels. Once in the park of this GZ, the cache was found and is now on its way back to Brisbane for a flight back to Nations Capital.

Thanks 2y'stassies...will relocate soon.

#GA3581 - 13:23; Day 4 of a long planned mission to South East Queensland with Sol de lune and after a couple of days in and around Nanango and the wider South Burnett area, it was time to head back towards Brisbane, then home later on Tuesday. After a whirlwind tour de Toowoomba, we were back on the highway and down the hill headed east through Gatton and on to Ipswich. Took a detour to grab a few moveables in the area, including this one, which is now headed south. TFTC 2y'stassies Very HappyClan Cerberus

A quick find while in this park left here as per previous cacher

This little park is only 750m from my home so I went for a stroll to check out the little group of movable caches that have been dropped here.

It took me a while to locate this as it was well camouflaged by the surroundings.

There is no log attached to the cache so I took a photograph and replaced the cache as I found it. There is no race on for the cache so there is no need to relocate the cache.

All good to go again....

Sorry about the delay in placing this moveable cache in a new location.

A review of this moveable shows the cache may have been collected from its currently listed co-ords, however it has not been relocated. The previous finder was contacted regarding the cache however it has not been re-located. As a result, we are archiving the cache to stop cachers looking for a cache that is obviously not at the listed co-ords. This is also done to keep the Geocaching Australia database clean and up to date.

If the cache owner can confirm that the cache has be relocated, they can post an unarchive log and the cache will be back in the game.

Reading previous logs, this moveable may have been found, removed and not relocated yet. We know moveables can sometimes be forgotten / missed / left in the bottom of a caching bag, so a check has been undertaken to determine its location.

An update will be posted within 28 days….

I was being looked after by Chwiliwr and the better half for the day at their place and whilst there saw a whole big group of moveable caches that were being organised for a move somewhere by my grandparents so played with them for a bit before they were packed up. (Those that were not too fragile to be played with.)

Thanks for the cache.

Discovered 'Heading West!' at the Moveable & Mystery Madness Event held in Whiteman Park. The forecast was for rain but we were blessed with good weather for the day. A small but dedicated group of geocachers and a couple of new faces attended and exchanged stories of caches found and missed. Many thanks 2y'stassies for the cache.

Hello 2y'stassies thanks for the cache.
I had come up to Launceston with EeePees and Lil Raffa to attend the “Th' lost loot o' Mary Hyde” event.
After making our acquaintance with everyone who was there at the time we ventured off to find a nearby cache before returning to making our acquaintance with the new comers who weren’t there before, when we making out acquaintance with everyone who was there.
After making our acquaintance with everyone who was there I noticed a log sheet and some loose sheets of paper. I ventured over and asked you about the log sheet and some loose sheets of paper.
You explained how you were trying to achieve a challenge of moving seven movable caches 1000 kilometres. And the log sheet was picking a person who would be able to log the FTF and the loose sheets of paper were the code and name of the movable.
Good luck in moving your caches across Australia and acquiring your challenge token.

With such inclement weather today, going any where to find geocaches out in the wild for me seemed to be out of the question. At least even bad wearher is useful to geocachers as it allows us to catch up on various puzzle caches plus a good time to plan the various trips required in order to satisfy the various conflicting elements of the current DZ trophy points system.Just as I was scouring the GA Cacher maps to fill the various requirements lo and behold, the cache 'Heading West!' turned up in the hands of Mr 2y'stassies on my doorstep for a quick visit.Mr 2y's was greeted by two barking canines...Sirius and Murder. The elder Sirius(now 16.5 yo) was none too happy but Murder(not quite 4 yo) soon settled then became rather friendly. It was great to see and log this cache before it continues it's rather long journey to the northern island....lets hope it has a safe journey. Many thanks 2y'stassies for another cache for us all to enjoy...cheers ST

Dragon Zone has many Trophy Challenges, some of which require careful planning to achieve.

One of the Dragon Zone challenges is to move ten or more moveables at least 1000km. As we are making a fleeting visit to Perth (WA) in late July, we are going to attempt that challenge. However, there are less than ten moveables in Tassie that we haven't found. After consulting Baldrick (of "cunning plan" fame), we thought that we would publish some at the "Th' Lost Loot O' Mary Hyde" event at the Tailrace in Launceston on Sunday 16 July, give those pirates attending an opportunity to find the moveables and then, after finding them ourselves, we would take them to Western Australia to meet the challenge requirements.

Heading West was found in a box at the pirate event in the grounds of the Tailrace Reserve. It was glad to be in a box out of the cold wind and also liked the idea it was not going to be planted in some cold garden bed where it would most likely be frozen on the frosty mornings many parts of Tasmania are currently experiencing.

After being found by those at the event who support Geocaching Australia Heading West collected with Six other little moveables and will travel with them to the big island after a trip on the boat. They are then in for a road trip to Adelaide in South Australia followed by a plane trip to Perth, Western Australia. Hope quarantine in Western Australia doesn't confiscate it and its four relatives as Western Australia’s plant quarantine laws are very similar to those of Tasmania.
