The North Shore Cycleway Bike-Cache Adventure #6

North Shore Cycleway Series #6:

The Missing Link

Please see the NSCS #1 cache page for the background to the series, route planning and general advice.

This Cache: WARNING: This cache is particularly hazardous for pedestrians. While approach on foot is not forbidden, this is a bike only path so be careful if not on two wheels! Now things get a bit scarier. After leaving NSCS#5 you have two options. Both require you to very carefully cross Amhurst St. There is are no signals so take your time, traffic moves quickly up the on ramp. Once across you can take the high road (signposted) or the faster low road along the hard shoulder of the freeway. I commute the freeway as it cuts 5 to 10 minutes off the journey to the city and cuts out a big hill up to Cammeray. The shoulder is wide and it is a legal bike path but if traffic worries you go up and over. Either way, you'll end passing by or through a massive bus lay-by. Come here in the early afternoon and it will be packed! There is a proposed upgrade to properly join Milsons Point to Naremburn through here rather than having cyclists risk the hard shoulder, its traffic and broken glass. However that may be a long time coming yet! GZ is safely away from the very fast moving autos. Good Luck!

The Final: Just like my original series here there is a puzzle cache final to be found! Collect the bits of co-ords from each of the caches along the way, piece them together, and voila! There will be a bonus box for you to discover at journeys end. Please leave the laminated Co-ords cards in the original caches for others to find.

Today I cycled from Chatswood to the Sydney CBD, main goal was to do the North Sydney Cycleways Series by Zalgariath, the rest being logged is collateral damage (I mean finds Smile

..... after the previous one I thought I had seen the worst. Nope. First I went under the bridge... and cycled back. Then I went over the bridge... and cycled back. Aerial map, aha that's where I need to be! Under the bridge again.... looked up. Saw the railing. Put one and one together and cycled back. Then approached it on foot, found somebody's stash of stuff and drugs. And then the cache containers. What an adventure.
