Hi and thanks for the virtual.
Taking advantage of the Hobart show public holiday, and making a 4 day geocaching trip West, and then North West, with AlbyDangles.
This is one we found along the way on an early morning day 2 start from Zeeshan to Trial Harbour.
It was a bit wet under foot getting to GZ!
Cheers, EPs.

A fun walk in shorts through the long grass on a warm summer's day! Thankfully there were no slithery encounters! A cool looking rock and a nice & easy find. TFTC!
Cheers,
The Hancock Clan

This was a fun cache even with us all having to go thru some very snakey looking grass, the cache was found quick and we were on the road again in no time.

When we arrived here we tried to find a track. Walking up there in shorts is probably not the smartest idea but I did it anyway. We picked what we thought looked like a track and carefully made our way up. The ladies (both generations) stayed down on the road and wished us luck. The cache was found in a great little hidey hole and quickly logged. Great place for a cache.

Caching weekend around Zeehan after the Oz Day event with SSRat and Goose&Egg. Today we started out down Trial Harbour way, this was a really cool cache location. TFTC

This rock reminded us of Trout Rock at Derby (which also used to have a cache). Sort of like bookends at opposite ends of the state. Boy, there's not much love for GCA's on the west coast though. Yesterday we found a GCA hide that had been patiently waiting for a fondle for over two years. This one was 3 years to the day (though it did get some TLC from the CO last year). Needless to say, things were in good shape. It was only a short climb through the buttongrass tussocks too, though I think I may have picked up a "fellow traveller" for my troubles. The flies at GZ were also very friendly. Perhaps they don't get much opportunity to feed! TFTC Sirius.

That was a shame sylken.....reckon you'd have found the cache too if you had gone to the rock...as not too many hides there.
Re GPSr...it wasn't at it's capacity for # of wpts. I've had similar with the Montana...sometimes caches get missed...I really don't know why. Glad you're still here enjoying your tour around the State...all the best....cheers.

Had found a couple of caches in Trial Harbour today and when driving back up the hill we saw Walrus Rock.(Hadn't noticed it on the way in.) geohubby said "Isn't there a cache here called "Walrus Rock".......I assured him that the Garmin wasn't showing any. He was sure he remembered seeing one on the pc in the caravan with that cache name. We didn't have inet when we passed the rock so couldn't check if his memory was correct. On arriving back in the van he checked the pc and sure enough there it was in the cache listings. He rechecked the Garmin....definitely not there. He had used gsak to upload the sites. He then tried sending the co-ords direct to gps from Geocaching Oz and it still wouldn't come down. Any ideas why that might have happened???? Great looking rock Very Happy

Found while staying in the area with Tassie Trekkers. Cool rock, spot on coords. TFTC.

Found on our West Coast Wilderness holiday with whitewebbs. While staying at Strahan we found several caches in the area and this was one of them. Thanks for showing us this great rock.

Found it, in the Pouring Rain. Was a great Cach to find and the Rock is pretty good. Great photo opportunity. Thanks Laughing

Found at 14:05. Certainly quite a cool critter and rather amusing. Nice views as well. The only problem we had at this location was lots and lots of bees! TFTC.

08-Jan-11
Decided to grab this one while on the way into Trial Harbour looking for a campsite. From that direction we were a little confused why the cache would be called Walrus Rock as the rock we could see had a different name. Eventually we turned around and slapped our heads as it became obvious.
Picked up my first ever Swaggie!

With some assistance from tattsus we were able to log this one. Not hard to find where this one is hidden, great picture just be careful when parking as road was unusually busy today.

A little wet in places but still a nice walk to the cache. TFTC

31-Oct-10
We came to this area after a solid days rain, water runoff was coming from every direction. This cache was good timing as someone got car sick reading about the local history!

10-Oct-10
A local "artist" certainly had fun with these rocks, making then a "guardian" feature to the area. Initially we though that the scrub between us and the rock would make access difficult but it was easy walking through very short and sparse vegetation. A quick find once we got to the rock. TFTC. Left Swaggie SW0163.

Cool cache! Found some cool looking purple Fairies' Aprons flowers in the drain below the cache. They are a semi-aquatic insectivorous herb and look really colourful like a type of orchid but they aren't. The view to the SW is also pretty awesome, all the way to the Cape Sorell light house in the very distance.

Found this one on the really rough 4x4 road from Trial to Granville Harbour, (didnt make it through) On our way back out there it was sticking right out. Very interesting, it did make us laugh. Cache was easy to find. The day was very windy and cold.

02-Jan-10
Heazle1 found this one because my husband rememmber name very windy place.

Loved it Smile

On the way in towards Trial Harbour it was raining cats & dogs, but on the way out it was clear enough for us to dash up the hill!

Thanks for the cache, and thanks for the laugh.

We enjoyed exploring this area and feeling the rough dolerite around this cache. This was the very first cache found by the youngest Carrolleyre so she was totally delighted. The art work was fun! We dropped off the "Stick with it" moveable cache that we had picked up from Quamby Bluff.
Cheers Sirius.

It's only 10 kms away. Hmm but what a long 10 kms it turned out to be. Love the art work. Mr Morris Played King of the World while we took some snaps of the feature. TFTC No exchanges made

An interesting creature. TNLN. Thanks

Found the cache just before having to refuel the cachemobile.
I hope they fix up the road a little bit more soonish.
TNLN, thanks sirius.

Beat Red Tag up the hill for FTF. Bit of a strange thing to have in such a great spot. Maybe Trial harbor is going to get a Theme Park!!
Thanks sirius Tas

11-May-08
Gspblu picked up this cache really quickly on our ‘Operation West Coast Adventure’

Think the FTF may been partly the reason he tore off ahead of me.

I took heaps of pictures of the feature but realized they may be ‘spoilers’ so attached a picture of the coastline instead.

TFTC sirius Tas. TNLN and STF to red tag
