Will move on with others. Many tftc OldSaint...cheers ST.
Its surprising how many holes there are on these guard rails, even with the hint it took me a few minutes before I finally put my hands on the little fellow. He will be moving in a southerly direction next I think
Cheers and thanks for the cache OldSaint
With such cold and inclement weather this past few weeks up this way in north west Tassie, going any where geocaching for me seemed to be out of the question. A good time to plan the various trips required in order to satisfy the various conflicting elements of the current DZ trophy points system. One trophy requirement is to find 100 moveable caches of which I need to find a further 16. So last night to my surprise, I saw 3 moveable caches had popped up on the radar and all with in a couple of kms radius of home.
I had thought of going caching last night but it was quite cold and even with a superb torch....power torch from Kleva Range.....with out doubt the best torch I have ever had.....it would be difficult finding all of the 3 moveable caches, so decided to head off early today to find on the way to yet another blood test over in Burnie....plus it was a better fit for some of the other dz trophy requirements..e.g. number of dz caches per day of the week, also for each day of the month plus the winter solstice trophy.
Thankfully the weather was clear as this morning with no clouds insight so the hunt was on. As soon as I had put my hat and boots on, Murder(the younger of the two canine family....4 yo) started to get pretty excited as he just loves both bush walking and travelling around in the geo fourby. My eldest canine...Sirius...is now too old(16.5 yo) to leave the comfort of his bed in front of the wood heater...which has an electric blanket of course(which he just loves and is great for his arthritis). Having walked 100's of km's with me geocaching over the years up numerous mountains, bush walking along many trails plus along vast stretches of beaches etc while geocaching, he has certainly earned his rest..an amazing companion who never gave up no matter how hard it was for him...a truly remarkeable effort.
Looking at the various cache locations I had planned an anti clockwise route which would take me along the highway around Ulverstone on the right side of the road as it is way too dangerous crossing 4 lanes.Looking at the first moveable cache on my list....'Yellow Thin Man'.... in it's posted location I had a pretty good idea on where it would be as I had found other moveables quite near here in the past. Once at gz...a short amount of searching found the little yellow thin man hiding inside a guard rail. This little cache will be set free today over in the Ferndene Reserve near Burnie. Many thanks Old Saint for placing this cache for us all to share and enjoy....very much appreciated.Having secured the first cache on the list it is now off to try for the 2nd cache...cheers ST.
When we left the sun had come up and there was no sign of frost or ice on the coastal roads. We did note however that there was a heavy snow cover on Black Bluff. At Sassafras we could see that the central highlands had a good blanket of snow and when we reached the Midlands Highway we could see that Ben Lomond was also carrying a very heavy snow covering.
The sun continued to shine and there was no hint of frost or ice anywhere on either highways so we made good time and reached our destination early.
After fulfilling our Hobart commitments we headed down the Southern Outlet to collect our daughter from the Antarctic Division in Kingston. On the way we made a slight detour to collect GA10651 and GA10652.
After finishing all our family commitments we were ready to head north again. But before leaving we decided we had time to find a few more caches. We started with this one on the domain.
Poor little Yellow Thin Man was freezing under his bark blanket so was grateful to be collected and moved into a warm car even if he had to share it with a dragon and two bales of barley straw.
After a trip north we will release this one into the warmer end of the island.
On my way home form finding another one of your caches I noticed this one pop up on the screen so turned around and drove back to see if I could find something a little easier. As I got closer to where you hide it I notices how the parking was absolutely full with all the people doing sporty things, it’s nice to see some fit people out there. NOT ME. I parked in a spot designated for busses twenty five meters from GZ I figured there would be no way a bus could get anywhere near here today with so many cars parked on the side of the roads. The walk to the Yellow Thin Man’s hiding spot was an easy one and his little house was quickly found.
As I am so scared of you I knew I had to move him to a new hiding spot or receive the wrath of the Saint. I took the Yellow Thin Man and rehide him a little further down the road so he is still on the Domain.
I found this song that the yellow man might sing
Very far away in a foreign land
Live the yellow woman and the yellow man
He's been around for many-a-year
They say they were there before we were here
Eatin' rice all day
While the children play
You see he believes
In the family
Just like you and me
Oh, yellow man, oh, yellow man
We understand, you know we understand
He keeps his money tight in his hand
With his yellow woman he's a yellow man
Got to have a yellow woman
When you're a yellow man
This a movie he might watch
The Thin Man is a 1934 American comedy-mystery film directed by W. S. Van Dyke and based on the novel of the same name by Dashiell Hammett. The film stars William Powell and Myrna Loy as Nick and Nora Charles; Nick is a hard-drinking, retired private detective, and Nora is a wealthy heiress. Their wire-haired fox terrier Asta is played by canine actor Skippy.
The film's screenplay was written by Albert Hackett and Frances Goodrich, a married couple. In 1934, the film was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Picture. The titular "Thin Man" is not Nick Charles, but the man Charles is initially hired to find – Clyde Wynant (part way through the film, Charles describes Wynant as a "thin man with white hair"). The "Thin Man" moniker was thought by many viewers to refer to Nick Charles and, after a time, it was used in the titles of sequels as if referring to Charles.
Nick Charles (William Powell), a retired detective, and his wife Nora (Myrna Loy) are attempting to settle down. They are based in San Francisco but decide to spend the Christmas holidays in New York. There Nick is pressed back into service by Dorothy Wynant (Maureen O'Sullivan), a young woman whose father was an old client of Nick's. The man, Clyde Wynant (the title's "thin man"), was supposed to be on a secret business trip and promised to be home before his daughter's wedding, but has mysteriously vanished. She convinces Nick to take the case, much to the amusement of his socialite wife. It starts out as a missing person case, but when Wynant's former secretary and love interest, Julia Wolf, is found dead, evidence points to Wynant as the prime suspect. Dorothy refuses to believe that her father is guilty. The detective uncovers clues and eventually solves the mystery of the disappearance.
The murderer is revealed in a classic dinner party scene that features all of the suspects. A skeletonized body, found during the investigation, had been assumed to be that of a "fat man" because it was wearing oversized clothing. The clothes are revealed to be planted, and the identity of the body is accurately determined by an old war wound in one leg. It turns out that the body belongs to a "thin man": the missing Wynant. The real killer is uncovered at the dinner party, before he almost takes the life of someone who knows too much.

Received a phone call from B & W this morning re our Dyson vacuum cleaner; stating the repairs were done and that it could be picked up after lunch.
So decided to leave early and do some caching before making the required pick up.
Drove from Tubesville (Huonville) to the big smoke (Hobart) and made the Domain my first port of call.
Arrived at GZ and parked almost next to the cache after finding GA10521 "Tanked Again!" and hiding another cache.
Just began my search when a muggle walked up the nearby road
Delayed the search for a short time.
Search began again
A find was made at 1329hrs, Sainting the cache at the same time.
Now to collect the vacuum cleaner
TFTC and cheers
OldSaint.
