One of Australia's best known Dinosaurs is _________ and was discovered in 1963 by local grazier Doug Langdon in central Queensland. Doug found strange-looking rocks on the Thomson River which he sent to the Queensland Museum.
A team was sent out and 19 crates were sent back to Brisbane. Sixty per cent of the animal was found and it was the most complete dinosaur to have been discovered at that time.
The Dinosaur is named after the small town close by and it's species is named after Doug Langdon the discoverer. The fossils of this middle Cretaceous ornithopod are some of the most complete ever to be discovered in Australia,
and its sheer size (about 7 to 9 metres long and weighed approx 3 tonnes) made it a true giant of Australia's sparse dinosaur ecosystem. This dinosaur had a large bulge on its long snout between its eyes and its mouth, a beak, a flattened thumb spike, hoof-like claws, and teeth that worked like shears.
The____________would have lived in araucarian conifer forests near the edge of the inland Eromanga Sea that covered vast areas of central Australia 110 million years ago. The forest understorey would have included ferns, club mosses and cycads, and podocarps - all known from the area - in its diet. Although it was mainly a plant-eater, some scientists have suggested that, based on the shape of its teeth, the_____________ may have occasionally eaten some meat.

After flying in we grabbed our hire car and headed down this way to tackle these caches. We had solved all we could beforehand and the plan was to grab those, and the co-ords for the others out of the caches we found.
Not sure which way to go here. Route 2 was the suggested way in, but of course we couldn't find that, so we followed the path along the fence line to where we found the gate and then onto the path in the reserve there. Turns out it was a good way to go as we soon found ourselves at the cache and were soon signing the log. Cache and contents all good.
Thanks for another one Sambuccasam….
