Description
Logs
Gps had 10km heading into bush, very overgrown with blackberries. Read other logs but after 15min of searching still no luck
After finding Shortcut to Greensbush we continued our walk in the reserve. We enjoyed the taller gums and the shorter shrubs but our particular favorites would be the beautiful grass trees.
When we reached the boardwalk we were surprised to find our GPS pointing 10m into the bush. We decided to check under the boardwalk first. As there was no sign of the box under the board walk we decided to follow the GPS. We were about to leave the board walk when Mrs Y'stassie spotted something in the bush. On closer inspection it turned out to be the cache container.
The lid was loose and there was water in the container. Fortunately the log was dry. After signing the log we check to see if we had a smaller plastic bag - alas no smaller bag. We dried the container and returned the contents then put the lid on. It immediately pussed the lid open. We had great difficulty closing the box. We feel a smaller log book and bag would solve the problem of the popping lid. Once we got everthing together again we placed the container on the first bridge beam so that it was out of sight.
Thanks for this cache ikkibrady and for showing us this lovely reserve.

I have been staying with my auntie for a few days and we have been doing a lot of geocaching. Today we needed to come to Rosebud and she saw that ikkibrady had published some new caches. On our way home we stopped here. I had the GPSr but my auntie found the cache, while I was walking along the boardwalk with my uncle. I signed our names in first place in the logbook.
Thank you for this cache. We will find more during summer.

Last night while planning today's daytrip to Rosebud I noticed that this cache had been published a few months ago and was still unfound. It and it's partner would be the geocaching targets for my niece (PrincessFiona) and I.
Before geocaching this afternoon we had to attend the Rosebud Yacht Club Working Bee and do some maintenance jobs at our holiday-house. We then took a small detour along Browns Road so that we could pick up these caches on our way home.
After finding 'Shortcut to greensbush' we continued along the track, past an imposing collection of Grass-trees (Xanthorrhoea australis) until we came to GZ. A very short search by me resulted in another easy find. Again I handed the logbook to my niece and she was very excited when she saw the blank page and proudly signed our names in first place. FTF
On the way back to the car we stopped to further examine a number of the Grass-trees and noted their blackened, fire-affected, bases which gave them the obvious alternate name of 'Black Boys'.
Thank you ikkibrady for this cache. We are looking forward to finding more of your caches this summer.
