Description
J & J's sixty-sixth geocache hide. A regular Sistema with a small rock climb to keep you on your toes.
The Port Germein Gorge winds it's way through the ancient Southern Flinder's Ranges. It runs between National Highway One near Port Germein, and Horrocks Highway near Murray Town.
It is one of several routes that traverse the Southern Flinder's Ranges, and was extensively used by bullock teams to transport grain from the eastern side of the ranges to Port Germein. The road was opened in 1879.
In 2014 flood waters damaged much of the roads through the gorge, and it was closed to traffic while a $2.4 million dollar upgrade was undertaken.
This gorge is best visited in winter and spring, when the creek may be flowing, to truly appreciate the beauty of the location.
You are looking for a square Sistema container painted in the usual J & J custom cammo paint. Sat loc will be flaky here, so please refer to the spoiler pic to get an idea of where you should be searching.
The cache contains a variety of trinkets and a log book, stash note, dessicant and pen. There is a pathtag for the first finder.
Happy hunting!

A nice spot and after a bit of climbing around I found the cache. Very quiet on this road today. Must have been a big job to build it!
TFTC
It was a fairly quick find, although I'd suggest future seekers note the terrain rating. I overshot a bit, saw a likely looking hiding spot, so doubled back only to find my likely looking spot empty. I then looked down and saw the cache at ankle level.
Access to the cache is perfectly safe but if you overshoot as I did, it quickly narrows up and a slip would be nasty.
An enjoyable cache, in an interesting location. I noted there was another FTF beckoning from down the road but thought I'd leave it as a lure to the next cacher passing by. FTF on a traditional in SA is a rare experience and grabbing both seemed greedy.
