Description
This used to be a mystery cache, but since the clue caches kept getting muggled, I have archived them and this has become a traditional cache.
“Mooroolbeek” is thought to be the name given by the local Wurundjeri Aboriginal people ("moorool" meaning red and "beek" the earth). The name "Mooroolbark" was to be popularised with eventual European settlement in the late 1800s. A rural hub developed around the train station that offered rail access to Melbourne.
The container is a 2 litre ice cream container painted brown and original contents include:
- stickers
- yo-yo
- plastic soldier
- Malta pin
- Corona keyring
- blue squashy-face
- plastic wolf
- pair of Bombardier cuff-links
- and a BWS discount voucher

There's been no apparent response to calls for a CO check of this one and in fact, the CO hasn't logged on to the GCA site for nearly a year (13 March 2014) (or the GC site since July 2014 for that matter). With 3 consecutive DNFs from cachers who have a total of over 20,480 finds between them since it was last found on 6 June 2011, maybe it's time to bid this one adieu.
Three consecutive DNFs by well-credentialled finders since its last successful find over three years ago! Maybe it's time for a CO check at the very least to confirm that there's something still at the given co-ordinates other than blackberries to find.
Tried my luck but no luck to find it after search.

Trailrunning had asked me a couple of days before if I was free on Friday for a run. I had classes till early afternoon but once he told me its his birthday and he will be aiming for a 50 cache run, I knew I had to have a go at that, eventhough if it meant skipping class.
Aiming for a 50 cache run with only 7.5 hours was a little too ambitious. Of course we did not manage 50 but I got to about 35 which was pretty good. We had started off well in the start, but a couple of long trail runs, heavy bushwhacking and off-trail hiking really threw us off. It was a lot better slowing things down and enjoying the adventure than racing for time.
This took up alot of our time and in the end we gave up because we still couldn't find it after a long search. Being poked and scratched all over is no fun.

I had decided to take a day off from work (being such a wonderful day) and try for 50 finds in a day. Ultimately it was not to be for many reasons, including a few DNF's, the need to pick the kids up from school, and some difficult caches. In any event a good day was had by jsmyong55 and myself and this was one cache we were not able to find. We spent a long time here (too much in fact) scratching ourselves in the blackburries. We may be back with gloves and a blowtorch.

Went back with some gloves and located this brilliant cache. Cache is actually fine and in good condition. Blackberries have grown over to protect the cache. Left koala and took soldier.
Thanks a lot Team Roobak for the great cache and area to go and visit.

I arrived at this cache to find that the obvious place was covered in brambles and had become very unstable to access. Having not been prepared with gloves but still having a look in some of the obvious places led to an unsuccessful search. This area is amazing with views almost 360 degrees around the surrounding suburbs. Well worth stopping and will try again but owner may wish to check if this cache is still findable or maybe move it slightly in view of the natural environment changing.

I was originally at the nearby bunnings when I realised this cache was waiting for me to find it. I drove to the park where the geokiddies can play and walked up the hill to a great view of the area.
Thanks again to Roobok for the cache. TNLN.

Out for a walk with my lovely Geopartner today we decided to risk the walk up the hill before our slithery friends start to wake up. As other before us have observed, the view is really quite nice from up here. The cache was located and signed at 13:00

A nice quick find @ 18:15. Well, it was quick if you don't count that 300 metres up the hill! I guess the previously mentioned gate was further down the hill, but I found a convenient section of the fence that had been knocked out.
What a spectacular view in an area I hadn't realised existed. It was good to watch all the traffic and lights below - I must return in daylight and check it out from that perspective.
Thanks to Team RooBok for bringing me here. TNLNSL TFTC

Found at 13:40. Finding a way into the general area of GZ proved a bit of a challenge - should have paid more attention to Google Earth. Nice views. Left swaggie "Memories are made of this".

We didn't have the necessary info to complete this series but did collect all the clues, so after a phone call to a friend we inserted the said clues and soon found this cache.
Not a bad spot either and despite it being dark the view was pretty good.
Thanks indeed. A most enjoyable series

Thanks for this series. We completed it at night, daylight savings isn't working for long enough for us to get over here.
A great view from GZ and a nice hide.
Thanks, Robmc.

Found @ 19:25 with Davroy on our regular Tuesday night caching evening. Quick find once we had gathered the clues from the rest of the series. TFTC. TNLNSL
Found @ 1920.
Found with ggkof whilst on our usual Tuesday caching night. All the preliminaries done, it was off to this one. First the hill, then the fence, but no problems there. GZ was obvious, but where is the cache? Found in the first place I looked. The view at night is great.

Found @ 14:10. I was out at Lilydale for work with a colleague and told him about caching. I think we have another convert as he was very excited to find that the this existed. He was going to sign up tonight. TNLNSL TFTC

I found this cache with caughtatwork today. It was a bit tough climbing up the hill but when we got there I found the cache. It was very nice to look around and see all of the houses and things. Thank you Team RooBok.

Plugging in the clues collected from the first 4 of the Red Earth series, we were surprised to find the cache so close to number 4. Not to complain at all.
We trudged up the hill fearing the fence, but as we rounded the corner and saw the open gate we feared no more.
As we got to GZ there was really only one obvious place, but which tricky location would it be in.
GabGab came up with the goods at this location while I was around the other side.
I fear for this type of container. They are not waterproof and while the cache is out of the rain, condensation may build up and cause some issues as time goes by.
Took nothing, left nothing.
Thanks Team RooBok for this series of nice easy caches for a sunny Sunday afternoon.

I’d enjoyed the tour of the preliminary Red Earth caches this afternoon/evening, and really wanted to find this one before heading back home. Approaching GZ, I too thought I was doomed by a fence, but it appears that there has been public access to this area for quite a while. Not only is the view from GZ excellent, but it’s the manner in which the view is approached and presented that makes it even more impressive – well, at night, anyway! TNLN & SL at 7pm. Thanks Team Roobok for the cache – a top way to round-out the series! Regards, 38degsouth.

I've had the coords for this one since last Monday after doing the prelims, but the weather for the rest of the week was a bit ordinary, so I wasn't keen to do a pre-work motorbike ride to finish the series off. This afternoon, things had fined up quite a bit so I managed to slip away from home and do a few quick ones out this way. I parked at the recommended spot and, after a short walk, it looked as though I was heading for private property behind a chain-link fence. Luckily, there was a gate which looked as though it is permanently open and I headed through - to be greeted by some pretty extensive views of the surrounding area . At this point, there was only one spot where GZ could conceivably be and, after a quick search, the cache was in hand .

Thanks Team RooBok - a fun series which took me through some areas I hadn't visited before, despite living fairly close and travelling around here quite regularly.
