Description
Backing Into Wongi is our first attempt at a Reverse Cache. The name is a little obscure. Can you work it out?
The cache container is at the published coordinates and is available at any time of the day or night - you do not have to contact the COs to get the cache container. To get access to the container you will need the combination of a lock.
Once you have retrieved the container you will have to find an object so that you can open the container. The required object is located at the coordinates written on the cache container. Be very discrete at this location as there can be regular pedestrian traffic.
Once you have signed the logbook, make sure that you resecure the cache container, rehide the object used to open the cache container, and finally return the cache container to its original hide ready for another cacher.

The day was a success with both purposes being achieved. No showers of any note made everything almost perfect. TFTC the cache
One of the target caches for the day, quickly unlocked the cache and returned to original location
Loved the hide for the first part of this cache; and luckily I didn't need to look up the postcode, it's still retained from my post office days.
However, the 2nd part eluded us the other night, and it took a second visit after confirmation from the CO.
Found it quickly the second trip. Turned out to be a few return trips between WPs though until everything was back in place.
The end of another long day, back to Motton now to cook tea - our last night.
Found with AlbyDangles on day Five of the 'Bust' leg of our "Kempsey or Bust" tour.
Cheers, EPs.
Well didn't we have fun with this one.
It took a couple of days but we finaly managed to sign the log book.
It was a bit of traveling for the box and then the key.

We opened the container and signed our name, then returned the object to its hiding place, then returned the container back to its locked compartment. Luckily the sprinklers were off so it was a dry return for the container and us. Thanks 2y’s for this great reverse cache we look forward to tackling the reverse the mount one in future.
With the coordinates obtained, I found myself heading down the hill, at a lightning pace. The coordinates for the tool were located at the exact place that I thought of to start with. The tool was quickly located in a nice sneaky hiding spot, around 3 metres from where the coordinates said. Back up the hill for me!
The cache was successfully opened, and the logbook was soon signed. Back down the hill again (only partially down the hill this time).
Thanks 2y’stassies for such an excellent cache, it was very fun to achieve, and it is great to have another smiley on the map.

This one looked promising so we headed off to the starting point. The information needed was attained and Mr Beetle headed off to get the required tool to finish this cache. He had a long wait then until my appointment was finished and we could head back and get access to the log book. All the time hoping that no one else was tackling this cache at the same time.
Nearly 2 hours from start to finish for this one.
A great cache, thanks 2y'stassies.
My previous experience of a reverse cache was terribly confusing, this was much easier to complete
States of the Nation is a real and virtual geocaching scavenger hunt where your home state will compete against other Australian states to find and hide geocaches. Over the 5 week course of the game there will be hundreds of scavenges that you can track down, find and convert into points for your state. Some scavenges will be easy. Some scavenges will be tough. Some scavenges may be impossible. Don't despair. You are not competing just for yourself; you are competing as a state.
There will be a number of scavenges released on a weekly basis but each scavenge will remain until the end of the game. This means even if you decide to join the game part way through, the early scavenges are still available for you to claim. Scavenges will require you to find a geocache, hide a geocache, attend an event or do something else completely different. The game focuses on all aspects of geocaching and so all cache types, sizes, terrain and difficulty will be up for scavenging. TrigPoints, Events, History, Virtual, Webcam, Podcache and Locationless geocaches are all scavengable, so you're not just looking for a box under a bush. Each week there will be a mix of physical, non-physical and locationless geocaches so even if you are not in a geocache rich area, use the locationless component of scavenger series to get out, find something to log and gain points for your state. If you watch the scavenges as they are released you might also spot the 'not so hidden' patterns and plan for future weeks of the series.
Hiding geocaches will also be a large part of the scavenger series, but please remember this is a game of geocaching and geocaches that you hide should be long lasting, be of good quality and you should be proud of what you hide. Please avoid hiding a geocache just for the day so your state can find it before you archive it. Geocaches that exist for a short period of time may result in any claims on that geocache being disqualified. Play creatively, but also play fairly. More geocachers hiding more geocaches makes for more geocaching fun.

Out and about with whitewebbs for a day of caching down the coast. Good weather and company made for a great day of caching.
Many thanks 2y’stassies for publishing this cache for our enjoyment and adding to our geocaching experience. Arrived at the posted co ordinates and soon had box in hand. Once at the next location we unlocked the box and signed the log. Returned the box ready for the next finder. Our 1st Reverse cache which we enjoyed. Cache and contents are in excellent condition.
Tassie Trekkers are now a locationless geocache we have published a 'Geocacher cache' - Travelling Trekkers GA10932 - so if you spot us in your area sign our log book and receive a code word to earn yourself a We were one of the lucky teams to receive a pathtag from Geocaching Australia for publishing a "Geocacher Cache" - thanks Geocaching Australia.
The States of the nation games are coming - join the fun from the 16th December 2017 - 21st January 2018

Spotted a few more GA caches that had popped up on the radar which were mainly moveables but in a good position to satisfy one of the dragon zone requirements.
Other dragon zone requirements had to be also met, which included the day of the week plus the day of the month. Sunday had the least dragon zone finds and the 19th of the month had only a couple of finds, so it looks like the dragon zone stars had aligned for today.
The only problem with the weather would be too warm, though all the caches were mostly drive bys, so no real problem there.
Once again, as soon as I had put my hat and boots on, Murder(the younger of the two canine family....4 yo) started to get pretty excited as he just loves both bush walking and travelling around in the geo fourby.
My eldest canine...Sirius...is now too old(16y 10m) to leave the comfort of his bed in front of the wood heater...which has an electric blanket( not needed today though) of course which he just loves and is great for his arthritis. Having walked 100's of km's with me geocaching over the years up numerous mountains, bush walking along many trails plus along vast stretches of beaches etc while geocaching, he has certainly earned his rest..an amazing companion who never gave up no matter how hard it got for him...a truly remarkeable and treasured companion.
The first moveable was "School" which was placed opposite the Burnie High School. Approaching gz and with very accurate coords, I soon spotted the little blighter hiding on the steel fence along side the now disused rail line. Many thanks 'Old Saint' for placing and maintaining the cache for us all to enjoy. Reckon this little cache will take a trek back down south to South Arm where it can travel the 250km dragon zone requirement...cheers ST.
The 2nd GA cache on my travels was 'Postman Pat'.On approaching gz all was quiet but my blind/dumb streak seemed to cut in as my initial search was on the wrong fence. Turned around and omg...how did I not see that?.. gees, even Murder would have done a better job of sniffing it out...lol. Great job with the cache too and this is one cache I can say is surely muggle proof. After manipulating the required part I soon had the log book signed. Many thanks Sharnies Tribe for an excellent gadget cache....cheers ST.
The 3rd cache....'y's Stay At Home'...a moveable...was out along the Bass Highway near Sisters Creek. Once nearing gz a familiar guard rail hide was soon spotted for a quick find. Thanks for the cache 2y'stassies...cheers ST.
The next moveable cache was 'Golden Weeper' further west along the highway past Sisters Creek. Nearing gz the guard rail hide was soon spotted and the cache was quickly found. Thanks for the cache WazzaAndWenches....cheers ST.
The next moveable cache...'Barney the beach bum'... was further west along the highway near Rocky Cape.Once again the familiar guard rail hide was soon spotted and the cache was soon in hand. Thanks for the cache Friesianess...cheers ST.
The 5th moveable and 6th GCA cache for the day...'GoldeGn GeGnome'....was out along the road into the Rocky Cape National Park.Once near gz, accurate coords found the Gnome hiding at the base of a eucalypt tree, under a fern. Thanks for the cache...'DDT's....cheers ST.
Arriving back home I had 3 more caches earmarked. The 7th cache was 'Backing into Wongi'. Arrived at gz to find a very cleverly constructed hide and after a small amount of manipulation I soon had the cache with a set of coords to find the vital part required. Set off late Sunday arvo to find the 2nd gz all quiet. Required part found, log signed and then returned the cache to its original position. Many thanks 2y'stassies for a great reverse cache...my first which I thoroughly enjoyed...cheers ST.
We decided we would see where this one would lead us so arrived around 8am I guess. Having read the cache page properly we came prepared and soon accessed the brilliant start to this cache. We plugged the next stage into the GPS and were torn, it was not in the direction we wanted to go and we wanted that first to find. Of course with what we had in the car nobody could have beaten us so potentially we could have gone and done other things and come back to it later but that would be unfair so we went to find the other piece of the cache. I took a round about way because I believed we were headed somewhere slightly different (I had too many waypoints hanging off the one cache) but was soon corrected by my co-pilot. Being a quiet Sunday morning we were able to get very close to this end of the puzzle and had soon accessed the cache and a blank logsheet and a surprising FTF at 8.10am (according to the time on a photo I took). Of course, we had to make a quick run back to return 'part 1' and had a quick chat with Mrs 2y'stassies, knowing we would catch up again in a couple of hours.
Thanks 2y'stassies for a very enjoyable reverse cache and I can certainly recommend it.
We got off to an early start thanks to an early night, after the big day yesterday we were still out of our accommodation well before 8am, last night seeing that this one was still unfound we made it our first of the day so we could see if FTF was still up for grabs.
We pulled up at part one and thanks to accurate coords I soon had the bit we needed and was back in the car in no time at all, we worked out where the other half was and went with the idea of getting it now.
So it was a quick drive to those coords and managed to put the two together and we were pleased to see that we were still FTF, we had feared someone else had got it and not logged yet but we need not have worried, we added our names to the log before closing the cache up and replacing part two.
A bit of a drive later we returned part one where we were discovered by the CO's as they congratulated us on our FTF, a quick chat later in the rain and we left to find some more before meeting up with the CO's later today.
Thanks for the great cache.
