Goulburn to Canberra Rest Areas - Wheatley VC Lake George, New South Wales, Australia

We stopped here to stretch our legs on our way from Bowral to Canberra. After removing the layer of cobwebs we were able to add our name to the log.

Thanks for another cache MinnieK. It was very pretty here this morning. Last time we were here there was very little water in the lake. Today the lake was almost full.

Given, today’s plans had been cancelled, I decided on having a look at what caches were available to find and discovered a CITO on over at Lake George (which is just north of Canberra). Well there you go, that is where I’ll be heading today. I started the day off with B’fast at Yass Macca’s. Afterwards, I headed off and tackled the next leg of the All7, ‘Canberra Geocacher Power Trail’. Then I had a number of options to decide on what to find next. After some consideration, I decided on finding the DSD caches along that road called ‘Marked Tree Rd’. This was a great choice because it ended up with a perfect timing for the arrival of the event. I pulled up at the event location at 11:28am which was two minutes before the official start of it. Like I said perfect timing. The event was great fun and lots of rubbish was collected up. It was also nice to have finally found the other caches there as well (2 AL’s, a multi and a GCA trad). Once the event finished, I headed a little further south to get the new(ish) virtual cache and AL. Then it was time to head north again to Goulburn for lunch. I had a very nice lunch at ‘Trappers’. Then I headed off to find some more in the element series plus a couple of others that I was passing by. I also made one last quick find at about the halfway mark on the trip home. I ended the day with 2 DNF’s and 46 finds . TB visit on all found caches. A big thanks to the CO for adding this cache to game for the Geocaching community to enjoy. TFTE & TFTC’s!

A family trip to Canberra and Bright and there is always time to stop, revive, Geocache, Survive. Found with Zonic and Lachnic! It;s funny clicking on "worth stopping" because the whole idea of the rest area is to...stop!

Stopped on the way from Sydney and found the cache in good condition on a deserted rest stop.

I have been meaning to go to Goulburn for a while now, so with a few chores to do out that way I went today, and managed to grab a few caches along the way.

Out this way to fill in a date in the calendar and once at GZ the cache was soon in hand. Getting to the log was little tricker, although that was soon taken care of and my name was in the log sheet.

Driving past early this morning with the CO and so I stopped here for a nice quick find on this one. I quite enjoy these rest area caches !

Found 5:10pm with girlfriend. A quick find and a nice spot for a geocache. I like the views. Signed the log and then onto the next cache.

#GA2216 - 17:15; After a caching run north through Bungendore and on to Goulburn via the windfarms, Currawang and Komungla earlier in the week, today I did the run but this time through Tarago and Lake Bathurst to colect the remaining caches through that area. I had also dropped into Goulburn to revisit a couple of the local churches which have now become virtual caches, before hitting the highway and heading for home. I still needed a cache to close another hole in the dZ calendar and this was it. I managed a discrete retrieve, sign and replace, despite the muggle traffic in and out and I was also surprised to find a blank log sheet for another *FTF*. TFTC minniek
