Description

AN AREA WITH SO MUCH TO DO

THIS PLACE HAS BEEN A PART OF MY LIFESTYLE FOR SO MANY YEARS.  IF YOU LIKE CAMPING FISHING EXPLORING OR PLAYING SPORTS THEY HAVE EVERYTHING HERE.  A PLACE JUST MADE FOR FAMILIES AND NO MATTER HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE THERE THERE IS LOTS OF OPEN SPACE LEFT FOR EVERYONE. A KIDS AND DOGS PARADISE.

THE CACHE IS NOT HARD TO FIND BUT BE WARY OF MUGGLES. IT IS now a micro.

Logs

It looks very much like this cache has been muggled.
We're archiving it to stop it showing up on maps and lists.
If the cache owner can confirm the cache is still in play or replace it, as the case may be it can be reactivated by posting an "archived" log.,

No luck for me today. and I went here with high hopes as No one was around on this wet winters day so I could search to my hearts content. However still no joy - if it truely is a difficultly of 1.5 then I fear it might be missing. I looked high and low but came up empty handed. It may need to be checked as it had been a long time unfound.

I read the hint "not on the stump", so I didn't search on the stump. Instead I searched the sides of the stump. When I didn't find anything I moved to nearby trees. I didn't find anything there either (I was thinking hanging bison tube). But I did find a ring on a tree where a bison might have been. See photograph. ConfusedSadCrying or Very sad

Looking in the wrong spot, but soon spotted it! Cache was soon in hand.
No log sheet and full of water, managed to find a small piece of paper and claim my find.

Quick grab on the way past from a Cub camp up the road. TFTC

05-Oct-14
A quick stop on our way back to Launceston after a long weekend of caching in north east Tassie. A quick find with the aid of an excellent hint. There were lots of caravans and campervans and people everywhere but we were able to conduct the search unobserved by anyone. TFTC

Dancing Replaced the cache which was gone. Hard to believe over a year since the last log and no DNF since.

29-Sep-11
Camped here overnight, couldn't catch a fish, but could catch a cache

21-May-11
A beautiful park made an easy find. Several camping muggles about but GZ was muggle free. A great overnight camping spot. TFTC

22-Apr-11
campsites full of people for Easter. tftc. will have to come back here in summer.

22-Apr-11
A lovely spot, filled with muggles enjoying the long weekend camping out in most of the areas, but fortunately only a handful in the area around GZ. Thanks for the hunt Robtas.

Found easily, log is damp but managed to sign with new pen

What a great spot to go, to If I had known about it earlier in the day I would have camped here. Found it easily but rodents have been chewing on the thin plastic lid letting water in thus the log was saturated, I left it in the sun for a couple of hours and was able to fill in log. Left waterproof penguin and took Spotted Quoll. I now have a pair that I will take to the mainland next week where they can mate to there hearts content (presuming their the opposite sex) otherwise they can just enjoy themselves anyway they choose.

18-Jan-11
Lots of muggles here today but no one in vicinity of Gz. TNLN. TFTC!

After a second look in the same spot came up with the goods.

Although the area was deserted today, the park would be a wonderful area for either a day visit or to camp. The trees in the area are magnificent, the oaks having lost nearly all their leaves to create a wonderful carpet underneath. A great variety of play equipment for the young, BBQ areas and well maintained facilities are a credit to those who manage the park. Today the river was flowing very swiftly following the heavy overnight rains - not safe to go to close to the river today. A great area, highly recommended for visiting. Oh, the cache was a quick find despite it being buried under layers of leaves and other debris.

27-May-10
Searched around the obvious spot and poked around under the leaves but couldn't locate the cache. Only DNF for the day.

This is one of those fascinating cheap camping places that we will definitely be revisiting. You have no idea of the scope of the place just driving by. A nice easy find once we got in there, although being such a warm day and a long weekend as well there was a few muggles about. Thanks for bringing us to this spot.

I've NEVER been here before, what a great place!

I reckon I've blasted past here literally hundreds of times, but never been in for a look.

CharlieRat found the cache while I wandered down to the river for a look.

Thanks for brining me here, we will be back again for a picnic or 3!

Camping here for a view days. Great site.

14-Feb-09
The cache was showing up somewhere to my right as I drove closer.
Suddenly around a sharp bend in the road there was a sign pointing to a park.
As I rolled in through the gate and past the shop I thought to myself "Bl**#^Y Heck !!"
So this is where all the mobile homes, campervans and caravans disappear to !!
There were hundreds of campers scattered around and yet the place wasn't crowded.
I strolled around and eventually arrived at GZ which was miraculously deserted.
This is one impressive campground and at only $3 dollars a night, no wonder it is so popular.
TFTC.

We spent a bit of time here among the picturesque natural setting and the muggle campers. A popular spot at this time of year. Paulus has been past this spot more than 100 times, but has never stopped until now.

Thanks for bringing us here ROBTAS.

Found this one after doing maintenance on Barrows Loop,
An easy find and a great spot for a visit,
Quite a few people camping out here at the moment,
Tried our luck in the river for a fish but they weren't very cooperative today,

TNLN Cheers ROBTAS

We love coming to this spot, had a BBQ and a kick of the footy then off to look for the cache, found easily but due to muggles canoodling on the river bank we had to take it back to the car to fill out. After a play in the playground we tried a walk by to return the cache but with no luck they had come up for air and were looking straight at gz. Got sick of waiting for them to leave so I had to call on all of my stealth commando skills to return it.... with the rest of the madchilli team in the car just about wetting themselves watching me and nearly blowing my cover with their laughter I returned triumphant with only minimal grass stains
Took Parents of Sam Geocoin

What a treat to find such a lovely camping spot. Beaut looking river with loads of trout no doubt....definitely coming back to camp once trout season opens. Don't know why you haven't shown us this before rob.
Well set out..in a large area. Now this beats those urban caches hands down...woo hoo! Also don't know why we haven't had an Event here...may be a good spot to stage Northern part of the Mega Event next year. GSAK has over 100 caches listed within a 40km radius. Very impressive spot...TNLNSL TFTEC....Robtas....Cheers....and wait for it...for me a robtas first...5 thumbs up.

Having this show up a couple of days before we were to be staying nearby had me all excited. At last I might get a first to find. With this in mind we set out early in the morning to get the FTF, only to find 3daygrowth had got there first. Sad Still, it gave us a chance to discover this lovely place which we didn't know existed.
We dropped Parents of Sam geocoin at the cache.
TFTC RobTas.

Having tried to log my drop of Parents of Sam geocoin, I've realised that I shouldn't have put it here as it's not listed on the groundspeak site. I would appreciate it if someone would move it on to a trackable cache!

Forgot to say, picked up the Whistler #2 Travel Bug.

What a fantastic little spot!
Where do you keep finding these places Rob?
Had a lovely walk along the river bank with the frost crunching underfoot.
Many thanks.
