This morning we were in Launceston to collect our tiles for our house, as we were early we grabbed a few select caches that would help with the Geosportz challenges.
We gathered the information from the signs to find the coordinates, then of to GZ where wemade a quick find. TFTC

Had the coordinates worked out about 18 months ago but never got around to making the search. This morning I made the find. A couple of jogging muggles passing by didn't notice me ratting around the undergrowth. Cache and contents were in good condition. Very Happy

Thanks for the multi, we found the info last night by torchlight a bit before the dwizzle started, but deferred visiting GZ until this morning.
Once the cache was located, AlbyDangles moved away a little to distract the muggle passers by.
Thanks for adding to our adventures during an fantastic weekend's geocaching together.

"Hello Tassie Trekkers thank you for the cache.

The information was easily found even in the dark but we left it till the next day to go and find it.

This morning EeePees didn't take too long before he had it found.

Found with EeePees during another fantastic weekend away.

Didn’t think we had this one right and we were right we missed a part of the solving clue and forgot to minus after we corrected our mistake we took off on the correct path and yippee found it!

Stuffed the co-ords originally.
Missed a part of the calculations.
Corrected said mistake and
Found it. Good cache #TFTC

Quick find once we realised that our calculations were out as we had missed a part of the formulas. Thanks Trekkers for putting us on track.
Cache all good, dry and well hidden

I had the coordinates saved from a previous visit, so I just went to the end of the mutli. Found the cache reasonable quickly and all was out, but a small possum or wallaby flew out from just near it and gave me a fright

TFTC.
Took the longer way to walk to this cache, and then it took me quite a while to actually find cache.
Found this cache on a 2 day trip to the NW, covering over 1000 kms and finding around 100 caches of both GCA and GC

20-Oct-18
Cache and contents replaced

13-Oct-18
Wandered over and grabbed the information for this one and then worked out where we needed to go for the final. Had only put half an hour on the parking metre so decided to drive rather than walk to the final.
Took a while to be able to look for the final due to the constant stream of muggles passing.
Finally it was clear in both directions and this very large container was quickly spotted. Unfortunately the contents were very wet and the log book totally sodden. We did manage to scratch our name in there though.
Thanks.

#GA2885 - 14:25; Arrived in Tasmania last Saturday and after a few days in Hobart we were now spending some time in Launceston. The geohoney was off with her sister and I had some time on my hands before grabbing lunch with an old friend. I collected the information needed to calculate GZ and headed there after bagging a couple of other nearby caches, but the GPSr wanted to take me out into the river silt. Grabbed a GC cache on the way back to the geomobile, rechecked my coords and was left scratching my head. Decided to PAF who had recently found this cache. Sol de lune soon put me right as I'd made a basic mistake and missed part of the calculation! Did the recalculation and after lunch headed out to make the find. Always enjoy a multi so took the time to check this one out. Worked out the answers ok, but with the GZ not being close by, it was back to the car and off to try and make the find. One at GZ, no problem, the cache was quickly found. Couldn't believe there was about two inches of water inside the container though. Everything was dry, so no problem, but where did the water come from???

Thanks TT...an enjoyable little multi with great meaning.....especially this month. Recommended

This one had me running around in circles because not once but twice I put in the wrong numbers, I actually walked past the cache hiding spot and thought that would be a much better place to hide a cache than where I thought it was!

Our final type of cache today is this multi. Parking was nonexistent near WP1 due to it being dinner time so we parked a little away and returned to the plaques. Our original coods put us in the river but we soon realized we'd missed a bit of the calculation and rectified that. Back in the car again and around to GZ. Well something moved in the bushes here and left us feeling a bit uneasy and we struggled to find the cache where we thought it was but SSR widened the search and soon called out those sweet words. I had glanced in there but dismissed it, oh well its found and I do love a multi.
Thanks Tassie Trekkers for this cache and the 30 or so others of yours we found today.

A comment to stainless steel rat on Thursday night turned into a plan rather quickly over the following 24 hours. After a later than expected Friday night I dragged myself out of bed while the clock still started with a 5, Urgh!
My first stop was the Rats Nest to pick up stainless steel rat and after loading his things in the car we departed at 6.05am. Our first stop was Mood Food for coffee and to find some lunch to throw in the esky for later, followed by a much needed stop at the train park in Perth (to offload the coffee), then it was on to the house of TazScout for another round of coffee.
We spent the whole day caching in various parts of Trevallyn Reserve and then picked up a few other caches as we left there late in the day. We found traditional caches, puzzle caches, a trig point, some moveable caches, a pod cache, a reverse cache, a beacon cache, a gadget cache, a night cache and a multi-cache. We also found a cache of EVERY terrain type from an easy T1 right through to a ‘fun’ T5.
After a late dinner in town, we returned back south with a couple of fresh air stops on the way. After dropping stainless steel rat back at his nest, I arrived home at 11.45pm absolutely exhausted.

After a bit of a mess up with the coords (my fault) we got to the correct area in the end and just as we were thinking it was going to be a DNF I found the cache a few meters from where my GPS put me, thanks for a great day out.
With Goose of GooseandEgg, cache in good order, thanks.
This trip was a spur of the moment thing only first dreamed up on Thursday night, GooseandEgg wanted to clean up a few new caches in the North so with the weather looking good for today we left home at 6am and got back home at 11:30pm. Thanks for great day out.

I had three goes at this one unfortunately the first time I did not notice the minus numbers and was on the waters edge. Daughter was waiting to go home so I gave up. The second time it was getting dark and I was actually looking on the wrong side of the track. Third time lucky in the daylight all was revealed I don’t think I will be so lucky with the gadget and reverse cache when I try again today.! TFTC Tassie Trekkers

In Launceston today to find some caches and try to dispose of some of the hoard of moveable caches currently residing in the boot of the cache mobile. Had worked this one out after our last visit to town but left it until the today to make the find. Just returning from finding another nearby cache when we spotted mr 2y'stassie just arriving, had a bit of a chat then on our way to the next cache. TFTC, haven't ever done many multis but points are good for the current game

Today we had to go to Launceston for a number of reasons. Chocolate_ali came with us but rather than cache, she went off with Mrs y'stassie on "secret mother-daughter business" leaving Mr y'stassie to look for the data for this multi-cache. The information was located quickly, the coordinates for GZ were calculated, entered into the road GPS and Mr y'stassie was off. As he parked the car, a familiar pair came into view. It was great to catch up with Sharnie's Tribe even though we had phone contact less than an hour earlier. After swapping some information about the best ways to approach various caches and discussing some unfortunate recent developments, we went our own ways. Accurate coordinates led to a quick find of a well hidden cache. It was good to see a large size cache. The cache and contents were in good condition.

Thanks Tassie Trekkers for the multi and for the cache hide.

In Launceston for Christmas lunch with the CO's so it would have been rude not to do their newly published multi. A quick gather of the information required and we were off to find GZ. A quick rummage under the bushes/trees and the nice sized cache revealed the log book. TFTM and for the great lunch.

I will use this find as part of the States of the Nation games currently running from 16 December 2017 until 21 January 2018.

States of the Nation is a real and virtual geocaching scavenger hunt where your home state will compete against other Australian states to find and hide geocaches. Over the 5 week course of the game there will be hundreds of scavenges that you can track down, find and convert into points for your state. Some scavenges will be easy. Some scavenges will be tough. Some scavenges may be impossible. Don't despair. You are not competing just for yourself; you are competing as a state.

There will be a number of scavenges released on a weekly basis but each scavenge will remain until the end of the game. This means even if you decide to join the game part way through, the early scavenges are still available for you to claim. Scavenges will require you to find a geocache, hide a geocache, attend an event or do something else completely different. The game focuses on all aspects of geocaching and so all cache types, sizes, terrain and difficulty will be up for scavenging. TrigPoints, Events, History, Virtual, Webcam, Podcache and Locationless geocaches are all scavengable, so you're not just looking for a box under a bush. Each week there will be a mix of physical, non-physical and locationless geocaches so even if you are not in a geocache rich area, use the locationless component of scavenger series to get out, find something to log and gain points for your state. If you watch the scavenges as they are released you might also spot the 'not so hidden' patterns and plan for future weeks of the series.

Hiding geocaches will also be a large part of the scavenger series, but please remember this is a game of geocaching and geocaches that you hide should be long lasting, be of good quality and you should be proud of what you hide. Please avoid hiding a geocache just for the day so your state can find it before you archive it. Geocaches that exist for a short period of time may result in any claims on that geocache being disqualified. Play creatively, but also play fairly. More geocachers hiding more geocaches makes for more geocaching fun.

Go Tassie! Go Tassie!! Go Tassie!!! Go Tassie!!!! Go Tassie!!!!! Go Tassie!!!!!! Go Tassie!!!!!!!

Gathered the required information before work, have visited the 'Rats' site in the past - an exclusive club indeed. Later on with the hunt for the finale, nice to see such a large sized cache, and with kid friendly swaps, there are so few in the greater Launceston area.. thanks..!!

We were out dogwalking this morning and noticed this cache pop up on our screens for the first time. Even better it includes the word 'area' for the States Of The Nation Game (Go Tassie!!). The dog wasn't quite sure where we were heading, but off to the plaque to collect some info and then a trek back along a well known local trail and we soon had the cache in hand. TNLNSL (between joggers).
Thanks so much Tassie Trekkers.
This is probably our 1st FTF in about 5 years.
