Description

Something to add to the fun of geocaching on the Georges River

Despite what looks like a party zone, during the day this island is quite peaceful. Landing can be easily done approaching from south of the location...NOT from over near the GC cache. You will find the cache in the middle of a tree with 4 branches growing up from waist height nd covered in casuarina needles.

FTF Woo hoo..... just shy of 4 months unloved. I've been eyeing this one off for quite some time and never gotten around to go for a paddle. A little planning and an idea that could achieve both things I love to do on a Sat. morning. So after parkrun at Chipping Norton, a coffee and nom nom treats at the nearby growers market and a 2 minute drive to the put in point on the lake, I unloaded the kayak and I was off. Quite a strong cross wind and the sun glaring in my eyes, it was on just after 9am as I was paddling across the lake to the first target. The wind at least had kept the power boats away today so it was a peaceful and pleasant paddle to the GZ. Wow, this certainly could do with a CITO, and my hopes that this cache had not been discovered by the unsavoury muggles frequenting this area, fell. Has this cache survived so long unfound???
I held my breathe as I removed the camo. Wow, it lives..... and untouched too. Good job on hiding this out of prying eyes.
This really is a lovely spot, if only it was cleaned up. Thanks for the paddle cache, my favourite.
