One of several puzzles worked out whilst sat having lunch near to the Disappearing Tarn waiting for a large 'socially un-distanced' tour group to move on - they obviously didn't get the memo that we're in the middle of a pandemic! Anyway, the puzzle was soon solved and an easy find was made later in the day. Luckily, I wasn't sprung as the track had been very busy today, but by the time I got here most people had gone. Another fine container, TFTC!
Cheers,
The Hancock Clan

G'day again today g&e, thanks for the cache, although I would have struggled with this puzzle, except for the helpful CO!
Today I needed to get out after being stuck indoors unwell for the last few days, and Mrs EeePees was keen for a shortish easy walk, so we choose Milles Track.
Used the hint to decide where we needed to look, so as not to trample off the track in too many unnecessary directions, and then a very quick find.
The saved this one to break up our return walk, so this was the final find of four for today's short amble.
It was nice and quiet up here today, no wind, and a nice mostly dry track. Most enjoyable.
Thanks for the adventure.

Journey or Destination
Game Period: 01-Dec-2018 00:00:00 to 31-Jan-2019 23:59:59 AEST
It is sometimes said [citation needed] that the game of geocaching is not about the destination it is about the journey. This game is about the choices you make in the experience of the journey or the destination.
On your entry to the game you will be asked to create a playing field with a number of ground tiles. Your playing field is a grid 20 x 20 ground tiles making a total number of 400 possible steps you can take on your journey or destination. You choose whether you want to find and follow the path or whether you wanted to meander around. A playing field is unique to each player so there is no benefit in teaming up to beat the system through brute force.
For each qualifying geocache that you hide or find during the game period you will be offered the opportunity to click on a ground tile and reveal what lies beneath. There are a number of different ground tiles that will be revealed when you click on your playing field. It should be noted that there are no punishments for clicking a tile but there will not always be the reward you were hoping for as you reveal each tile.
Dirt. The ground beneath the ground tile is just plain old brown dirt.
Dirt with some points. The ground beneath the tile is brown dirt but it has some points associated with it.
Concrete. The ground beneath is part of the pathway that will lead you on your way to your destination but has no point value.
Start. A concrete ground tile that has a blue map marker.
Destination. A ground tile that has a green map marker.
Meandering around and avoiding the path will accumulate points that will be used to place on you the ladder of wanderers. The more you stay off the path the higher the number of points you will accumulate and it will be your journey that will be the determining factor in whether you place into a prize winning position. You are free to select any ground tile to click on; they do not need to be next to each other.
Trying to find the path may mean you strike out on the dirt until you eventually come across the path and as a geocacher who can't say that this isn't a tried and true method. Once you find the path however will you try and follow the path as it changes direction around your playing field? Do you go North, South, East or West to try and find the next concrete tile along the path? If you head one way are you heading towards the start or towards the destination? When you do happen upon the destination tile then you will automatically be in a winning position.
At any point you are free to change from the journey to the destination and vice versa but you won't be able to regenerate your playing field. You are also free to keep playing as long as you have qualifying geocaches, accumulating more and more dirt tile points and placing you higher and higher on the ladder.
Qualifying geocaches fall into two categories. Finds and Hides.
A qualifying find is a geocache that meets the following criteria:
The geocache is listed at Geocaching Australia
The geocache has a hidden date prior to the game commencing
The geocache was logged by you on the Geocaching Australia website during the game period
The geocache was physically found by you during the game period
The geocache is not owned by you unless it is a moveable geocache
The geocache has not previously been found by you during the game period
The geocache is one of the following types:
Burke and Wills
Moveable (you will qualify only once for a find on a moveable geocache)
Traditional
TrigPoint
Augmented Reality
Beacon
Gadget
Multi-cache
Night Cache
Podcache
Reverse
Unknown or Mystery
A qualifying hide is a geocache that meets the following criteria:
The geocache is listed at Geocaching Australia
The geocache has a hidden date after the game has commenced
The geocache was published on the Geocaching Australia website during the game period
The geocache has a container size of regular or larger (Note: A regular geocache has a volume of 1 litre or more)
The geocache is one of the following types:
Moveable
Traditional
Augmented Reality
Beacon
Gadget
Multi-cache
Night Cache
Podcache
Reverse
Unknown or Mystery
The game tracking mechanism relies upon your honesty when logging geocaches as found or hidden.
The games administrators will undertake verification of a statistically significant number of logs.
Players who continually log inaccurate information will be disqualified from the game. The game administrators decision is final.
The game administrators will subtract qualifying hide or find geocaches from your tally if they are found to be not genuine.
The game administrators reserve the right to provide clarifications to the rules at any point during the game.
Don't forget to claim your limited time game trophies, if your qualify, while the game is in progress. Once the game completes the ability to claim your trophies is lost for ever.

Hello gooseandegg thanks for the cache.
This puzzle had me stumped for a long time before asking for some help.
This afternoon after work I found it easily.

After attending Goosandegg's event yesterday evening we stayed over night with our son before heading home. As we needed a GA Dragon Zone cache find today we decided on an early morning walk on the mountain. We had collected the other caches along Milles track during the States of the Nation game but somehow managed to leave this one off our to find list and maps.
It was a beautiful morning on the mountain, crisp and clear with mist wisps in the valleys. We were accompanied by the twittering of small birds, little scurrying animals and the gurgling sounds of the flowing water. We were surprised to see how much the area had dried out since our January visit.
We spotted a likely hide as we walked even though our GPS said we were over 30m away. Mrs Y'stassie decided to check it out before going any further and sure enough there was a large container safely tucked away where the hint said it would be. Nice to find such a large well stocked cache container in a good hiding spot. Container and contents were in good condition.
Thanks for this cache Gooseandegg we enjoyed our morning walk. This find will also fill another day in our Summer Solstice grid.

We headed out to the mountain today to find five new caches that had been published while we have been away up North. Thanks OldSaint, Stainless=Steel-Rat and gooseandegg for creating caches which have multiple options to use in the States of the Nation games. We also scored as a bonus the first to find on OldSaint's newly published "The Photographer" cache.
We tried to solve the puzzle but had to resort to contacting the CO for a bit of a hint, which was graciously given. Coords now in the GPSr we made a quick find of a large and well stocked cache. We thoroughly enjoyed our walk on the Milles track.
On our return we stopped at the springs where we thought we might get a coffee but alas the "shop" wasn't open. I dont know why it wasn't open as it was like Flinder's Street Station, people and cars everywhere. They missed out today on lots of business.
We did however find a goose and a rat in search of coffee as well. I said I can show you mine if you show me yours (moveables that is) and the Event was published, moveables sighted, signed and some taken to be moved. So all up we had five finds, 1 event attended and eight moveables to hide.
We left the mountain hiding moveables all the way down that hadn't been collected by other attendees, so hopefully the elevation will help others in the games. We con tinued on to the Domain to find another OldSaint cache that had been published Christmas Eve and then over to Howrah to hide a couple more moveables before heading home. As we hadn't had lunch and it was getting late afternoon, we stopped at the grocer at Lauderdale only to find it wasn't open. We are not having much luck spending our money today! Sorry about the lengthy logs. We are currently aiming for a virtual verbosity trophy. TFTM
The States of the Nation games which we are currently participating in are running from 16 December 2017 until 21 January 2018.
States of the Nation is a real and virtual geocaching scavenger hunt where your home state will compete against other Australian states to find and hide geocaches. Over the 5 week course of the game there will be hundreds of scavenges that you can track down, find and convert into points for your state. Some scavenges will be easy. Some scavenges will be tough. Some scavenges may be impossible. Don't despair. You are not competing just for yourself; you are competing as a state.
There will be a number of scavenges released on a weekly basis but each scavenge will remain until the end of the game. This means even if you decide to join the game part way through, the early scavenges are still available for you to claim. Scavenges will require you to find a geocache, hide a geocache, attend an event or do something else completely different. The game focuses on all aspects of geocaching and so all cache types, sizes, terrain and difficulty will be up for scavenging. TrigPoints, Events, History, Virtual, Webcam, Podcache and Locationless geocaches are all scavengable, so you're not just looking for a box under a bush. Each week there will be a mix of physical, non-physical and locationless geocaches so even if you are not in a geocache rich area, use the locationless component of scavenger series to get out, find something to log and gain points for your state. If you watch the scavenges as they are released you might also spot the 'not so hidden' patterns and plan for future weeks of the series.
Hiding geocaches will also be a large part of the scavenger series, but please remember this is a game of geocaching and geocaches that you hide should be long lasting, be of good quality and you should be proud of what you hide. Please avoid hiding a geocache just for the day so your state can find it before you archive it. Geocaches that exist for a short period of time may result in any claims on that geocache being disqualified. Play creatively, but also play fairly. More geocachers hiding more geocaches makes for more geocaching fun.

Having been with the CO when he placed this I waited till the FTFers and others had found this cache before going back at the end of a long days walking on the mountain to add my name to the log.
This was one of those perfect looking locations that was screaming out for a cache, so Goose of Gooseandegg was very happy to fix this with a large hide.
Thanks for the cache.

This cache was found at the end of a great day of walking on Kunanyi/Mt Wellington in the company of SSR, goodesandegg, EeePees, and Membsec (and I dragged one of my adult sons along as well ) for the New Years Eve mountain walk and meet up event. After a successful day, when we got to the bottom of the Ice Houses track the party went in a few different directions to nab a last cache or two close to the Springs before we headed home for the day. I was keen to find some recently placed mystery caches along the Milles track, however after having recently leaving my GPSr behind on a beautiful but infrequently visited beach on the east coast (which has now been found by another geocacher - Yay!) I was GPSr-less, so was extremely thankful for a fellow member of the party to accompany me along the track so that I could find these caches. This puzzle - well it puzzled me I had no idea where to start. Luckily, during the event a really cool fellow geocacher mentioned a place on the information superhighway that might help me, so I was able to eventually get some numbers from these very weird letter combinations that got the thumbs up from the geochecker. Thanks for the placing a cache here along this lovely walking track gooseandegg!

I struggled on the puzzle for quite a while before stumbling upon the solution. Old Saint and I were retrieving this cache (our second for the day) when I spotted what I thought was a muggle approaching. Turned out to be RebornCyclist who joined us for the remaining caches. Reborn told me how he managed to solve the puzzle which was a completely different method to what I used - I suspect he did it the way it was intended to be solved. Thanks GOOSEANDEGG for a fun puzzle, a good sized cache and a great location for gz.

This one was a lot of fun - I cracked it the hard way, and only afterwards resorted to technology to find the source.
Out today, I thought I would walk out to the last cache and work my way back, but I ran into OldSaint (how many caches have we met at?!) and half of DnA! (we know each other well from another sport) and fell into the comfortable routine of walking and chatting.
They were kind enough to include me as join *FTF* on this one, too.
Thanks.

Hi Goose
I was sitting in front of the computer solving the new puzzle caches hidden by gooseandegg and Stainless-Steel-Rat when the phone rang. DnA! had been doing the same thing and enquired how I was going on them. We conferred and he asked “Do you want to go and get them?” We agreed to meet at the Springs on Mt Wellington at 1530 hours; neither of intending to cache today!
Weather:
A beautiful day at Huonville very hot – twenty six degrees here. There were few clouds in the sky.
Temperature at Longley was twenty two degrees: on the mountain walking the track it was a very pleasant eighteen degrees Celsius as we searched for the caches in the shade of the trees.
Not a sign of rain as we searched for GA11305, GA11306, GA11307 and GA11308.
Travel:
Drove from Huonville to the Springs on Mt Wellington and returned to Huonville.
For the day, it took 3720 steps burning 1282 calories to cover a total of 2.84 kilometres and find four caches on foot. I drove 67.1 kilometres for the day; a total of 69.94 kilometres for the whole caching day.
GA11307 “Milles Track, Rock over Creek”
Having arrived at the car park at the Springs, Mt Wellington; awaiting DnA!s arrival, I started to put the co-ordinates for each of the four caches into my GPS. The wait was only a short one; upon which we moved our cars to the higher Springs Parking area.
Climbed the steps and began our walk along the track completely ignoring GA11305 on the way to our first find, GA11306. A very pleasant walk with great company.
The cache was Sainted at 1550 hours. I had gone to the top for this one and I heard DnA! mention the word “MUGGLE” – not the case, Reborn had caught up to us here so his name was added to the log as we signed – the three of us remained together for the remainder of the finds
A joint *FTF* with DnA! and RebornCyclist – THANKS.
All the protocols were completed and it was time to head to the next cache, GA11308. By now, I had covered a distance of 1.07 kilometres using 1384 steps and burning 1083 calories.
Really enjoyed the exercise and being back in the scrub - THANK YOU
This cache will be used as part of the States of the Nation games currently running from 16 December 2017 until 21 January 2018. As the new caches have so many options, a decision will be made as to which scavenge to use it against. It is nice to have a choice. Thanks.

Thanks.
If you’re not participating, get into the game and help Tassie come first please.
These caches will also help collect points for the Dragonzone Game.
HAPPY NEW YEAR
TFTC and cheers
