Description

located on Island on Yerribi pond, in a camo container

What started out to be a restful day turned into going out with KittyKatch, Joolay and CBRCHICK to Yerribi Pond and watch them each paddle out in a kayak out to these 2 little islands to grab a GC cache, and thought what a great place to hide a GA cache as part of the State of the Nation game and on the other Island as courtesy and no confusion, so here we are at Rockabi Island hiding a cache for all to find. The container is a camo one for the area, well similar larger ones in the vicinity. Has log book but you will need to bring your own pen, what cacher doesn't have a pen???

Please return cache where you found it.

Sorry for the very late log! Forgot we found this on this day whilst doing the GC.com cache on the island very close by.
DSD found this cache by accident when he went over to look for the GC cache without a GPS. He thought he had found it but we worked out it was GCA instead!

Thanks for hiding, see GC7GDNN listing for pictures of our adventure

With a TOTT at ready access and transport now, I decided I would spent the afternoon grabbing some close, long unfound caches

This was #4 of the day, and the sole GCA cache. I haven't found many GCA caches recently. Strangely enough, I've been a few of this camo in the past week or so.. maybe that it's that I'm caching more!

TFTC DD!

We came to find the Capital Paddle cache on Yerrabi but realising there was a GCA as well made it twice the fun. Saw what I thought was the hide fairly quickly but there was nothing there. Scratched about a bit and found both parts of the camo'd cache but unfortunately there was no sign of an inner container or logsheet.

I know I like to be prepared but quite frankly even I'm surprised at how prepared I was today. Checked in the pocket of my life jacket and found a small log in a plastic bag purpose made for this cache! Laughing Replaced the cache and positioned the rock that was there on top of it to stop it washing out (which is probably what had happened). Think this is our first T5 GCA cache.... woohoo! #GA3370 - 09:15; Hatched a plan while travelling along the Hume Highway yesterday with with Sol de lune to tackle a couple of the 'island' caches this morning before there were too many muggles out to see us in the water. Met up at Lake Ginninderra and swam out to the island there for a couple, then on to Yerrabi for this one and a nearby GC cache. Waded out to the nearest island and headed east for this cache. Sdl already had this one, so I was solo here, but a short search soon turned up a familiar hide, and although infested with ants, the log was safe and sound. Signed the log, rinsed the ants off the container and rehid for the next finder. TFTC Darzee Di Very HappyClan Cerberus

I started work late today and it was such a lovely morning so I decided a paddle was in order. I have visited this cache before but without a pen. No such failure today. The island is a bit messy with litter, but the cache is fine. Thanks DD for the fun.

Left this one to last so I could swim out to it and cool off after a big day of caching. No-one around so it was quick change and then into the water. Bit cold at first but after a few seconds it was certainly worth it. Once at the island the cache was soon found and the log signed. Hung around the island for a few minutes enjoying the cool breeze before it was back in water and back to my towel and off home.

Thanks DD....a great little way to finish my day....and a great way to pick up about 150 dZ points.

At the end of a morning caching I decided to wade over to these islands for both the caches here. The worst bit was the foot of mud on the bottom of the lake on the way over. On the island, both caches were soon found, even the old one is mostly still there. The return went smoothly and I was on my way home for lunch.

Thanks

We had a lot of fun on kayaks with Darzee and helped with the cache hide, so claiming now that the FTF has gone. Lovely to be out paddling around the lake. TFTC Smile

Chooo ooo *FTF* on a breezy Sunday morning. I like this island - small but civilised, not like its neighbours! So a nice quick find here, before heading to the next one. Thanks for the cache DD.
