Description

The cache is NOT at the listed co-ordinates above.

This geocache was placed to assist Tasmania in the 'States Of The Nation 2017/18' summer game (Go Tassie!!).

Amongst many other challenges, geocachers are required to hide and/or log a Mystery or Unkown cache, with points being awarded for size (the larger the better), difficulty, terrain etc.

So with that in mind, here's a large puzzle geocache!

If you are not playing the game, well just have fun finding and logging the cache as per normal.

Once the puzzle has been solved (check with GeoChecker), the cache itself is a large plastic container. Get in quick as LARGE containers are easily muggled.

Also in order to prolong the hide as long as possible, it would be appreciated if you can cover the cache up again as best you can when re-hiding.

The cache can be found at...

S41 (Hobart - 910).(Sydney + Adelaide - 714)

E147 (Canberra - 661).(Melbourne + Perth + Brisbane - 1643)

Have fun!

It was my intention to look for caches in the Trevelyan Reserve. Having solved the problem quite some time ago and ascertained the corrected co-ordinates I made a quick find. Cache and contents are in good condition.

today we choose to target all the caches in the Trevallyn dam area, we attempted 14 caches with 13 finds and 1 DNF. it was a very hot waling along the trail so we were always on the look out for our slithering friends.
this cache was a quick find with accurate co-ordinance. TFTC Clan Cerberus

Drove to Launceston today to checkout a few shops and to have lunch at Hog's Breath Cafe. Decided to head over to Trevallyn to check out the dam and possibly pick up a couple of caches. Then headed home via Exeter. The main reason we went to Treyallyn Dam was to do a bit of recon work. I have never been there before. So I wanted to suss out the area so we can have a better plan to head back soon and walk the trails around the area.

Cache was in great condition, signed log and replaced as found. TFTC Clan Cerberus

I am not sure why I hadn't even tried to solve this one before I did the Triple J one...anyway, this was easily solved and as I had a day off, a bit of caching was on the cards. Cache found in very good condition...if only I had got into the Summer Series when it was happening.

A quick find after work as the geosportz games are coming to a close. I should have solved all theses puzzles first and then came out to find them. Luckily they are close to work - well within 15km. This one was one of the easier ones to find but in my haste to get back to the car I got tangled up in some branches and scratched my leg - must remember to wear long pants next time! TFTC

Hi DaFiChNi
A great caching day today. Another day out with Budge and a total of 37 caches found.

Travel:
Left Huonville for Lenah Valley at 0515 hours, met the Blue Flier and then on to Launceston and return to Huonville at 2240 hours.
Another 14.53 kilometres were covered on foot requiring 19217 steps burning 2322 calories.

Weather:
Overcast and drizzly morning. A fine afternoon and a bit warmer.

Thanks to Budge for a great day, great company, laughs and above all else his friendship

The majority of caches found today were hidden by Tassie Trekkers and my thanks to them for their dedication to our SPORT and giving me as much fun as I had today (as well as the sore legs and aching body - cheers) To DaFiChNi for their caches that made up the balance of those found today, our thanks - great fun solving the puzzles and finding your caches.

GA11376 "Are We On The Same Wavelength"
This puzzle was a quick solve. Always listen to the ABC no matter where I am, here in Tassie and when on the Mainland; so have listened to many of the stations mentioned
A gentle drive to get to GZ, unlike some of the others of the caches found today
A quick find. I have found some other caches in this area previously, mainly moveables
Sainted the cache at 1030 hours as the fifth find for the day
TFTC and cheers

While up North for a few days for family commitments (a 90th birthday) a few caches were found and this was one of them. We enjoyed solving the puzzles as they were published during the summer games, so it is now nice to be able to log the ones we were unable to complete during the games. A nice large, well stocked cache. TFTP

When you get a late Thursday night message "Hey wanna come grab some caches?" you clear up a morning to do just that. You also make sure everyone is coffeed up first of course! I couldn't stay for the entire trip but I had a few hours spare and finding some caches is better than finding no caches! TFTC

I'm usually on a different wavelength to most people which sometimes causes a few concerns Whistle but to solve this puzzle and to find it easily I must be on the same wavelength as you. You should be concerned Wink
Another great puzzle and good cache, Thanks DaFiChNi Team

A comment to stainless steel rat on Thursday night turned into a plan rather quickly over the following 24 hours. After a later than expected Friday night I dragged myself out of bed while the clock still started with a 5, Urgh!
My first stop was the Rats Nest to pick up stainless steel rat and after loading his things in the car we departed at 6.05am. Our first stop was Mood Food for coffee and to find some lunch to throw in the esky for later, followed by a much needed stop at the train park in Perth (to offload the coffee), then it was on to the house of TazScout for another round of coffee.
We spent the whole day caching in various parts of Trevallyn Reserve and then picked up a few other caches as we left there late in the day. We found traditional caches, puzzle caches, a trig point, some moveable caches, a pod cache, a reverse cache, a beacon cache, a gadget cache, a night cache and a multi-cache. We also found a cache of EVERY terrain type from an easy T1 right through to a ‘fun’ T5.
After a late dinner in town, we returned back south with a couple of fresh air stops on the way. After dropping stainless steel rat back at his nest, I arrived home at 11.45pm absolutely exhausted.

another night out in Launceston and what do you do on a night out in Launceston you go caching that's what you do nice puzzle and a nice big geocache thanks for the cache

In Launceston today to find some caches and try to dispose of some of the hoard of moveable caches currently residing in the boot of the cache mobile. Worked out the location of this one last night and very pleased that we would be in the general area so soon to make the find. This cache is our 2000th GCA find so fairly special for us! TFTC, the puzzle and the lovely big cache container

Mrs y'stassie was working at her computer (ongoing plotting for the States Of The Nation Summer Games) when notification of this puzzle came through. She got onto the right wavelength almost immediately and within a minute or two the Coordinate Checker had given the tick of approval.

Today we had to go to Launceston for a number of reasons. Chocolate_ali came with us but rather than cache, she went off with Mrs y'stassie on "secret mother-daughter business" leaving Mr y'stassie to look for this cache. He was pleased that he found a park very close by and after working out an access path consistent with his movement restrictions, Mr y'stassie soon found himself at the well hidden cache. It was good to see a large size cache. The cache and contents were in good condition.

Thanks DaFiChNi for an enjoyable puzzle and for the cache hide.

It's a long time since the DDTs had a FTF, but today at 2.45pm it happened! We were sitting in the Tailrace Park when the notification came through. DD immediately looked at the puzzle and thought what might this be??? Had she read either the name of the cache or the hint she would not have had to think so hard!!! Perhaps being a resident of Hobart helped the thinking process. Puzzle solved, we rushed here, found an empty log book and claimed first to find. Many thanks for the cache, and we will get on to logging it for States of the Nation.
