Description

The cache is NOT at the co-ordinates listed above.

This geocache was placed to assist Tasmania in the 'States Of The Nation 2017/18' summer game (Go Tassie!!).

Amongst many other challenges, geocachers are required to hide and/or log a series of caches, with points being awarded for size (the larger the better), difficulty, terrain etc.

So with that in mind, here's a LARGE geocache!

If you are not playing the game, well just have fun finding and logging the cache as per normal.

Once the puzzle has been solved (check with GeoChecker), the cache itself is a large plastic container. Get in quick as LARGE containers are easily muggled.

Also in order to prolong the hide as long as possible, it would be appreciated if you can cover the cache up again as best you can when re-hiding.

The cache can be found at...

S41 (Adelaide - 79.5).(Melbourne + Sydney + Hobart + Brisbane + Canberra + 103.7)

E147 (Launceston - 85.9).(Mildura + Alice Springs + Wagga Wagga + Townsville + Newcastle + 297.3)

Have fun!

This morning we were in Launceston to collect our tiles for our house, as we were early we grabbed a few select caches that would help with the Geosportz challenges.
we solved this one a while ago and today is the day to find it. a quick find TFTC

I thought this would be easy to solve but just couldn't get the right co-ordinates, so a message to the CO and DaFiChNi had me on the right track. Once solved, a drive, a walk and then an easy find. Cache is in excellent condition and well hidden.

These four geocaches have been in my solved pile for several months and today was the day to venture back into the reserve. Rain did not stop me and I went up and down tracks that had water gushing down so I ended up with quite wet feet! All the caches were in good condition and no water had got into the caches even though there had been quite s bit of rain overnight and today. Of course I took several wrong tracks and ended up doing over 14500 steps collecting up these four caches. Thanks for all the puzzles and caches put out over the summer, I have enjoyed solving them and the trek to find them.

Hi DaFiChNi Team,
Sorted puzzle awhile ago..so now off to gz. I ignored the zig zagging tracks as way easier to follow the arrow. Soon found the cache once at gz..a top cache...much appreciated...cheers ST.

Hi DaFiChNi
A great caching day today. Another day out with Budge and a total of 37 caches found.

Travel:
Left Huonville for Lenah Valley at 0515 hours, met the Blue Flier and then on to Launceston and return to Huonville at 2240 hours.
Another 14.53 kilometres were covered on foot requiring 19217 steps burning 2322 calories.

Weather:
Overcast and drizzly morning. A fine afternoon and a bit warmer.

Thanks to Budge for a great day, great company, laughs and above all else his friendship

The majority of caches found today were hidden by Tassie Trekkers and my thanks to them for their dedication to our SPORT and giving me as much fun as I had today (as well as the sore legs and aching body - cheers)

GA11377 "Triple J"
Unfortunately, I'm an ABC listener but got the gist of this puzzle quickly having already solved "Are we on the same wavelength."
Glad I didn't have to walk too far down the hill as I remember how steep it can get by doing caches here previously
However, the walk to the cache did not ease my already aching legs having done some caches near the river
Sainted the cache at 1228 hours as the eleventh find for the day.
TFTC and cheers

I am not a Triple J listener to be honest but I did get the gist of the puzzle without any issues. It was another one I did on a lunch break at work, well at work anyway Embarassed We'd had a tough morning in the park and I didn't fancy the walk to this cache now but determination kicked in and off we went. SSR had already found it but came for the walk. After a bit of a stutter at a multi track intersection, we were soon at GZ and I had the log signed while he stood back. As we walked back up the track I thought to myself' I would have sat in the car if I'd already found it.' Thanks for another great cache and puzzle.

A comment to stainless steel rat on Thursday night turned into a plan rather quickly over the following 24 hours. After a later than expected Friday night I dragged myself out of bed while the clock still started with a 5, Urgh!
My first stop was the Rats Nest to pick up stainless steel rat and after loading his things in the car we departed at 6.05am. Our first stop was Mood Food for coffee and to find some lunch to throw in the esky for later, followed by a much needed stop at the train park in Perth (to offload the coffee), then it was on to the house of TazScout for another round of coffee.
We spent the whole day caching in various parts of Trevallyn Reserve and then picked up a few other caches as we left there late in the day. We found traditional caches, puzzle caches, a trig point, some moveable caches, a pod cache, a reverse cache, a beacon cache, a gadget cache, a night cache and a multi-cache. We also found a cache of EVERY terrain type from an easy T1 right through to a ‘fun’ T5.
After a late dinner in town, we returned back south with a couple of fresh air stops on the way. After dropping stainless steel rat back at his nest, I arrived home at 11.45pm absolutely exhausted.

another large cache found while in Launceston for work another puzzle that took me awhile but I got there in the end thanks for the large geocache

We had limited time between family commitments and bowls to gather caches that we could use for scavenge points in the States of the Nation games. With the northerners and northwesters publishing puzzle caches profusely (and all with large containers) we set about solving them as profusely as they were being published.

We decided to take a couple of days to make our assault and this was one we found on our trip. The weather varied from warm to hot, to dry to wet to torrential rain, to a change of clothes in the empty car park in Trevallyn Reserve (nearly considered "Nude up for a smiley" but luckily we changed our mind - not enough points on offer for that one!)

We thoroughly enjoyed solving the puzzles and the tour through the Geocaching Australia and Geocaching.com toolboxes.

Thanks to the cache owners for their hardwork in creating and hiding the large caches.

Sorry about the lengthy logs. We are currently aiming for a dragon zone virtual verbosity trophy. We have just received the 100 word trophy, so now aiming for the 150 word trophy. For all new GCA cachers, a warning, write a decent log to start with in case you want to get these virtual trophies down the track. Having now passed 2000 GCA finds with a lot of one word logs (on many moveables) makes for a lot of typing now!

We are participating in the States of the Nation games which are currently running from 16 December 2017 until 21 January 2018 and we will use this find against one of the scavenges.

States of the Nation is a real and virtual geocaching scavenger hunt where your home state will compete against other Australian states to find and hide geocaches. Over the 5 week course of the game there will be hundreds of scavenges that you can track down, find and convert into points for your state. Some scavenges will be easy. Some scavenges will be tough. Some scavenges may be impossible. Don't despair. You are not competing just for yourself; you are competing as a state.

There will be a number of scavenges released on a weekly basis but each scavenge will remain until the end of the game. This means even if you decide to join the game part way through, the early scavenges are still available for you to claim. Scavenges will require you to find a geocache, hide a geocache, attend an event or do something else completely different. The game focuses on all aspects of geocaching and so all cache types, sizes, terrain and difficulty will be up for scavenging. TrigPoints, Events, History, Virtual, Webcam, Podcache and Locationless geocaches are all scavengable, so you're not just looking for a box under a bush. Each week there will be a mix of physical, non-physical and locationless geocaches so even if you are not in a geocache rich area, use the locationless component of scavenger series to get out, find something to log and gain points for your state. If you watch the scavenges as they are released you might also spot the 'not so hidden' patterns and plan for future weeks of the series.

Hiding geocaches will also be a large part of the scavenger series, but please remember this is a game of geocaching and geocaches that you hide should be long lasting, be of good quality and you should be proud of what you hide. Please avoid hiding a geocache just for the day so your state can find it before you archive it. Geocaches that exist for a short period of time may result in any claims on that geocache being disqualified. Play creatively, but also play fairly. More geocachers hiding more geocaches makes for more geocaching fun.

Always enjoy the challenge of a puzzle cache, well, especially when I can nut out a solution. Crunched some numbers and came up with a viable location. Off for the hunt, a nice easy find.. thanks..!!

In Launceston today to find some caches and try to dispose of some of the hoard of moveable caches currently residing in the boot of the cache mobile. Worked out the location of this one last night and very pleased that we would be in the general area so soon to make the find. Really enjoyed the walk in to this one, no scrub bashing for us, we did it the civilised way! Took a moment on the way back to the car to watch an echidna doing his thing, cute creatures and the more ants they manage to gobble up the better. TFTC, the puzzle and the lovely big cache container

Mrs y'stassie was working at her computer (ongoing plotting for the States Of The Nation Summer Games) when notification of this puzzle came through. Having just completed another similar puzzle by the same COs, she also got onto the right wavelength (in a different part of the radio frequency spectrum) almost immediately and within a minute or two the Coordinate Checker had again given the tick of approval.

Today we had to go to Launceston for a number of reasons. Chocolate_ali came with us but rather than cache, she went off with Mrs y'stassie on "secret mother-daughter business" leaving Mr y'stassie to look for this cache. Mr y'stassie is not familiar with the full range of tracks in the area but with a combination of using parts of the bike tracks, cross country and scrub bashing, he got to GZ after about 10 minutes or so. Accurate coordinates led to a quick find of another well hidden cache. It was good to see another large size cache. The cache and contents were in good condition.

Thanks DaFiChNi for another enjoyable puzzle and for the cache hide.

Amazing and unheard of - a second FTF for the DDTs in just over an hour! We were sitting logging 'Are we on the same wavelength' when this one came through. It caused us a little trouble, which turned out to relate to DD having Geochecker fat finger, rather than to any issue with our research and calculations. Another issue arose when we left our geovan with DD leading on down the wrong (or least optimal) track, so that some cross country negotiation was needed - which fortuitously put us right next to the cache. Naturally, although we hadn't seen anyone on the tracks, cycling muggles appeared as we retrieved the logbook so we tried to look
