Description
A simple multi cache published during the States of the Nation summer game
GZ will find you in the Burnie Park at the new addition at the back of the cenotaph. The divided wall was added recently and makes a lovely frame to the existing structures. The published coordinates will take you to the plaque at the end of the western half of the wall where you will find the answers to ABC. The answers to DEF are on the plaque on the end of the eastern half of the wall. The coordinates of the cache container can be worked out from a careful reading of the information on each of them and can be confirmed using the geochecker.
The cache is hidden at S41 02.ABC E145 53.DEF.
A = Corporal Cameron Baird was born in 1_81.
B = He died in 201_.
C = The number of letters in the name of the village where he died, minus 2.
D =The number of letters in the last word of the second paragraph.
E = 2_2 people from Burnie are estimated to have enlisted in World War I.
F = The number of letters in the first word of the third line in the last paragraph.
The cache is hidden a short walk away, happy hunting.

Think I took the most round about, difficult way to get there possible.
Oh well, getting back was easy.
Thanks.
Found on a caching run down the coast. When we visit Burnie we usually visit this park always a good place to stretch the legs and this cache gave us the oportunity to do just that. A straight foward multi resulting in a quick find. Cache and contents in good condition.

After finding the answers, it was off up the hill where the cache was found after a short-ish search. Log was signed, cache replaced and then it was back to the car.....grabbing another one as I went down the hill.
Thanks for showing us this area Sharnie's Tribe. Recommended for the history value...
A top cache which makes you think how lucky we are today because of those who fought so many yrs ago, with so many paying with their lives...a great tribute.
Many thanks Sharnie's Tribe for another top cache...cheers ST.
A three day trip to the North West Coast of Tasmania
Travel:
Started at Huonville through the Lakes Highway on the central Plateau to Deloraine and out to Sisters Beach; back to Somerset for the night. Various places visited through the next day finding caches, mainly in the Penguin area and back to Goat Island Reserve for the night.
Day three, I was caching around Ulverstone and then back to Huonville.
Total kilometres travelled was 1006 kilometres
Found 16 caches during day 1, 26 on day two and 12 on day three – total 54 found and two DNFs.
Walking:
Over the three days, I took 32664 steps burning 5791 calories to cover a distance of 25.51 kilometres in finding the 54 caches.
This cache:
I found this multi most interesting. Walking through the park to the final waypoint, all I could think of - "LEST WE FORGET!"
It was Sainted at 0813 hours
The near by scene was pretty

After visiting Spotlight we headed through Burnie to look for this multi. We had not been in this area since this memorial was added so it was nice to come back. We collected the information, recalculated the final coordinates and headed to GZ. It was quite hot in this part of the park and there was no brezze so we were both looking for some shade as we approached the hide.
Accurate coordinates Had us at GZ with the cache container in hand. For the second time this morning we found ourselves with a blank log book and a {FTF} at 11:40. After signing the log and replacing the container we sat down to enjoy the view and the light breeze. We commented of the fact that we could smell roses but the rose garden in the park was at least 300m away. Maybe there were roses in the gardens overlooking the first part of the park.
Thanks, Sharnie's Tribe for another interesting multi cache that highlights one aspect of Burnie's military history. Thanks also for a cache with useful points for the summer games.
