Description

A cache set during the States of the Nation summer game

This traditional cache is hidden in a spot with a fabulous view over the town of Burnie and it's port.  There are other caches hidden close by and the area has been a favourite drop off / pick up spot for moveable caches over the years.  In the interest of the longevity of this cache, please make sure there is noone observing you as you hunt and rehide the cache container carefully.  The cache contains a logbook and pencil and a few small swaps.

Have fun!

Staying nearby we headed out to find some local caches and this was one we found. Always a great spot to return. TFTC

I have never been to this lookout before so it was the two GA caches which brought me here. Great views over Burnie. No muggles about except one council worker on a lunch break in his truck. The cache was a quick find. cache and contents in good condition. Very Happy

Tonight we found this cache while in the area getting the sotn cache, we needed a large cache to complete our research tasks, on walking towards ground zero a likely hiding spot was spotted, out suspicions were right as there was the cache container well hidden. We signed the log the off to find the sotn cache TFTC Clan Cerberus

Arrived here late in the day to find a group of young muggles hanging around up top. They were probably a bit suspicious of why we were down in the scrub and not on the lookout but luckily we were just out of their sight at GZ.
A quick and easy find and also grabbed the nearby SOTN cache while here.
Love getting 2 GCA caches for one stop.
Thanks Sharnie's Tribe.

Needing a large cache for our crazy quest for different types in a day, Muggle Hubby had the privilege of signing this one whilst I was taken further up the hill to the Trig Point.
I must say we have very impressed today by the number of large caches we have found today.
Thanks Sharnie’s Tribe for another good cache

This cache was just outside the area brush cut, but the brushing cutting made access very easy
TFTC.
Took the longer way to walk to this cache, and then it took me quite a while to actually find cache.
Found this cache on a 2 day trip to the NW, covering over 1000 kms and finding around 100 caches of both GCA and GC

Yep, a bit of altitude for this one...compared to my last find. Visited this location on my last visit to the south island to grab the trigs and another trad....so good to come back to check out that view again.

No problems with the cache, the hint made sure I didn't go too far off course. Log was signed and then it was back to the car and off to somewhere else...

Thanks for another one......and also the re-visit....

On approaching gz I thought the area was on fire but once on top I could see the fire over near Heybridge.
Soon found the cache with accurate coords...with all being in top condition.
Always worth a drive up here for the great view....many thanks Sharnie's Tribe for another top cache...cheers ST.

Hi Sharnies
A three day trip to the North West Coast of Tasmania

Travel:
Started at Huonville through the Lakes Highway on the central Plateau to Deloraine and out to Sisters Beach; back to Somerset for the night. Various places visited through the next day finding caches, mainly in the Penguin area and back to Goat Island Reserve for the night.
Day three, I was caching around Ulverstone and then back to Huonville.
Total kilometres travelled was 1006 kilometres
Found 16 caches during day 1, 26 on day two and 12 on day three – total 54 found and two DNFs.

Walking:
Over the three days, I took 32664 steps burning 5791 calories to cover a distance of 25.51 kilometres in finding the 54 caches.

This cache:
I had just finished finding another cache in the area and had got to ground zero for this one when a muggle car arrived at the car park. Should I look or wait, or will they come and muggle me. LOOK – just put it back in its hide when they started to wonder to the lookout. They were from QLD and I enjoyed my chat with them.
I patted their flee bag and they reckon I was the first he hadn’t ripped apart; I retorted it was the first that hadn’t lost its head – All good fun: Thanks to you both.
This cache was a quick find. Absolutely loved it!!
It was Sainted at 1033 hours
The view from up here is always good
TFTC and cheers

We were glad we had left finding this cache until today as we needed a cache with CORS in the name for a scavenge claim. We have often visited this area over the last eleven years as there have been a number of GC and GCA caches hidden in the area at the top of Round Hill in the vicinity of the lookout and the communications towers.

We parked in the spot near the picnic table and walked down to the site of the hide. Accurate coordinates had us stop right in front of the hide. We had to take a second look to be sure this was the hide. When the stones rolled away we spotted the good sized container tucked neatly away. On opening the log book we were surprised to find a blank front page so we will claim {FTF} at 19:55.

After signing the log book we replaced the cover material and made sure the hide was as natural as when we found it. The view from here is also worth visiting for.

Thanks for the cache Sharnie's Tribe it will provide us with some useful scavenge points for the States of the Nation summer game.
