Logs
Out and about caching for the battleship games and this was one we found. Mr W was sent on the downhill trek. A bit slippery and wet underfoot, lots of water raging down the river after recent rains. TFTC

This was another cache I tried to find in the summer and oh I was so close last time. This time I went off with a fully charged phone and knowing the terrain I left more time to find this one than I did last time. When I got to GZ I realised how close I was last time but as cache was well hidden I would not have found it just by looking around. I'm sure the rocks on top of the cache will stop it from floating away when the river rises in times of flood! Getting back to the car was easier than getting down to the cache. Thanks for a fun walk in the reserve. Another Tassie Trekkers cache found today. TFTC

Hi Trekkers,
Now following the river around from the 'By the river cache' where the terrain was still tricky to navigate...but at least it wasn't uphill... yet.
Near gz the hint resembled a few spots but soon had the correct hide...which I still nearly missed as the cache was totally covered with rocks.
Having signed the log it was now to pick a grade back to the car...which turned out quite well.
Another excellent off track cache...much appreciated...though my knees were saying otherwise.....cheers ST.

Hi Trekkers
A great caching day today. Another day out with Budge and a total of 37 caches found.
Travel:
Left Huonville for Lenah Valley at 0515 hours, met the Blue Flier and then on to Launceston and return to Huonville at 2240 hours.
Another 14.53 kilometres were covered on foot requiring 19217 steps burning 2322 calories.
Weather:
Overcast and drizzly morning. A fine afternoon and a bit warmer.
Thanks to Budge for a great day, great company, laughs and above all else his friendship
The majority of caches found today were hidden by Tassie Trekkers and my thanks to them for their dedication to our SPORT and giving me as much fun as I had today (as well as the sore legs and aching body - cheers)
GA11680 "No Lighthouse to signal here"
This puzzle was a quick solve. Again, this solution was semaphored and flagged as a future find.
A gentle drive to get to a familiar car park, find GA11679 and GA11681; continue on and the fun continues as did the rock hopping. Slippery conditions due to morning drizzle added to the difficulty of this cache
Thoughts of the arrow were now gone!!
A quick find was had on this one; which was opposite to the slow trek to ground zero.
Thanks for the continued continuance of "sore legs" onset.
Sainted the cache at 1145 hours as the ninth find for the day.
Obviously, the river was not flooded which afforded us this find
Now up the hill and find an easier trek back to the car
TFTC and cheers

Should we have gone back up to the treck from By the River and the back down again? Maybe, probably, but did we? pftt! It was a hard slog and I think by this time TazScout was desperately wishing she has stayed home, in fact even Chinese water torture may have been easier to handle We pushed on and on, thankful not to take a tumble on some of the 'rocking rocks' or step down a moss covered crevasse. What a blast- NOW!
We had a big geometry discussion about prisms at this point after SSR read the hint. The GPS was as confused as we were so I pointed and said what about there, SSR checked and no it wasn't there but it was the next one along. Now how the hell do we get out of here? We should have brought a raft!
These last three caches were tough terrain, as we expected from the D/T and we were pretty knackered when we did climb to the track and follow it back to the cars But were extremely happy with our achievement. Thanks Tassie Trekkers for pushing me to the edge and not over it.
A comment to stainless steel rat on Thursday night turned into a plan rather quickly over the following 24 hours. After a later than expected Friday night I dragged myself out of bed while the clock still started with a 5, Urgh!
My first stop was the Rats Nest to pick up stainless steel rat and after loading his things in the car we departed at 6.05am. Our first stop was Mood Food for coffee and to find some lunch to throw in the esky for later, followed by a much needed stop at the train park in Perth (to offload the coffee), then it was on to the house of TazScout for another round of coffee.
We spent the whole day caching in various parts of Trevallyn Reserve and then picked up a few other caches as we left there late in the day. We found traditional caches, puzzle caches, a trig point, some moveable caches, a pod cache, a reverse cache, a beacon cache, a gadget cache, a night cache and a multi-cache. We also found a cache of EVERY terrain type from an easy T1 right through to a ‘fun’ T5.
After a late dinner in town, we returned back south with a couple of fresh air stops on the way. After dropping stainless steel rat back at his nest, I arrived home at 11.45pm absolutely exhausted.

This was the second of the harder caches that we had planned and we were glad to get this and its followers out of the way early in the day as we would have binned them when we were knackered later on, with Goose and Tazscout (who we picked up along the way), cache in good order, thanks, some hard work getting here but worth it in the end, some great views over the river as we made our way.
This trip was a spur of the moment thing only first dreamed up on Thursday night, GooseandEgg wanted to clean up a few new caches in the North so with the weather looking good for today we left home at 6am and got back home at 11:30pm. Thanks for great day out.

This was an other puzzle type we were familiar with so we had no difficulty solving the puzzle and getting the final coordinates. We sis however spend sometime using aerial maps to work out an access route. We knew that this would be a true terrain 4 cache and as one of our team members has restricted mobility we needed to have a carefully planned route. We knew we didn't have to worry about the CO's flood warning but the predicted high temperature could be a problem. We decided to have a go and see what happened.
We scrub bashed, bush bashed and rock hopped our way to the hide site and were delighted to find our GPS leading us straight to the cache. Cache and contents were in good condition. This is another beautiful spot. There were several little honey eaters flitting through the shrubs nearby and we had a thoroughly enjoyable rest after replacing the box. It was then time to make the return journey. We selected a route that was mainly under trees as the heat was intense once he breeze dropped.
Thanks for the puzzle and another challenging cache Tassie Trekkers. As well as providing good scavenge points for Tassie in the States of the Nation game this cache will also provide local cachers with a terrain 4 cache for their D/T grid.

In the general area chasing a few newly published Trekkers' caches. Thoroughly enjoy making my way thru this type of scrub, taking in the sights and sounds of all things nature. Made the final approach along the water's edge and again relished in the rock hopping - often surprised by my own level of fitness. At gz, the hint again offered a number of candidates with hidey holes. A process of elimination located another well hidden cache. Now for the walk back out.. thanks..!!
