Description

Its a purple dinosaur!

So ok I dont know what type of dinosaur this one is, I didnt really picture purple as a colour for these ancient creatures but who knows.  Maybe someone can enlighten me in the their logs for what this type might be.

For the mean time however, the only other purple dinosaur that I can think of is Barney!

The cache was created for the summer games of 2017/18 State of the Nation and was meant to be dropped in Victoria, however I didnt get a chance to put it out in time for either.  It therefore starts its journey in SA and there where he goes who knows!.

Find him, move him, selfie him if needed - Just please put him in places to keep him GCA active.

If you want to find more of my other listed dinosaurs please check out the following:

1st up I would like to apologise for keeping the movable for too long, could list many excuses & reasons but I won’t. I did this same long drive to drop off movables in this area 10 months ago & back then I was staring into lockdown with dunny paper like buying a gold bar / nugget & everything else flying of the shelves. 10 + months on I feel we are A lucky country (with some miss steps) – just look at the US & the EU & we are lucky.
So, no QR codes & masks needed today as I stayed away from all – breakfast (hot – toast & toasties & coffee machine) in the bush of the main HWY & rest break stops away from everyone, not even a service station needed - caches were in areas of low people numbers or nil. I set this capability up in lockdown. I look at it like traveling in remote areas you are away from everybody. At the moment I feel it is safer that way.
It was a GOOD long drive today – clocked up 730Km’s & very much enjoyed it with caches / trigs found
Now to the movable location: this is a side road of the main HWY

with COVID-19 & government sending messages not to travel & my work hours have been altered & reduced – I have a series of caches between home & work – I figured since I can do cache maintenance on my caches between home & work & go for a exercise walk in the park I will do this & get all my caches up to tip top shape so when the travel bans are lifted I know my caches are in good shape for others to find. The near by cache Plough and Harrow West - A short walk on the wild side 4 - In western Sydney Regional Parklands Abbotsbury, New South Wales, Australia By HansJJ on 22-Jan-19. Waypoint GA13514 which this movable was only 80 metres away. In this park I have 4 off AGC caches & I have lost 2 off them to fire in the big fires of the summer past which I still need to replace – I came here today to check on my cache & was very happy it was all right. I did notice the area here has been sprayed for pest plants recently so I figured it was time to find & remove this Micro movable before it is lost for ever.
I will only move this movable when the travel bans are lifted & I’m able to travel west to Bathurst or south to Yass & beyond – so I have it until then – many thanks – the movable is in tip top shape & log sheet is A OK

The game is coming to an end I have been fortunate enough to get to see a last minute cluster of moveabales brought down from Sydney. Even more impressive, they came despite a full car failure.

Found this one on the table at the event for Australia Day for the moveables. Thanks for the moveable which was one of 101 that made their way to Ebenezer. Good luck on any further moves

The latest Geocaching Australia game runs from 01-Dec-2018 00:00:00 to 31-Jan-2019 23:59:59 AEST

For each qualifying geocache that you hide or find during the game period you will be offered the opportunity to click on a ground tile and reveal what lies beneath.

A moving cache, by nature, may have been moved since you last determined its location. It may have been picked up but not yet rehidden so it's considered 'in-transit'. There is no foolproof method of determining where a cache is simply by the log types that have been placed against the cache.

Headed up to Ebenezer with LuckyL10n to attend the Aussie Day event. 45 degree day made for a bit of a fun trip, however it was pleasant in the winery building. A good few hardy souls were in attendance as well as over 100 moveables. Some good conversation with cachers not met before and a good couple of hours was had by all. The trip home was a little different to what was expected but turned out ok....

Thanks to all the CO's for the caches...

Attended the 'Australia Day Moveable Event 2018' and came face to face with other like minded cachers, one being another lucky (luckyl10n) and 101 moveables in the area. Many thanks to the CO's who have published them over time and others who bought them together for the event.

Found this one at the Australia Day Moveable Event 2018 event held at Tizzana Winery in Ebenezer. Another fantastic turnout at the event run for the current 2018/19 Journey or Destination game being run on Geocaching Australia which saw a total of 101 moveables come together. Thanks for sharing.

Barney and his friends were found whilst they were attending the Parkville mega event and whilst this was on there was also a GA event for all the cachers to meet up and then to see a huge collection of moveables. Barney was glad to see and we went of for a ride on the ebike and looked at some sights and grabbed a few friends for him to travel with. They also went on lots of tram rides in Melbourne and then to St Kilda which they were so excited about. They got to see a funeral procession in Bourke street for a cafe owner which was very moving. But then it was time to head to the airport.

After having brought Barney and his several moveables back from Melbourne i decided to head around the area today and drop them off so they could see this great state of ours and enjoy the many sights that there are to see. They really enjoyed their plane ride to Perth especially the view out of the window. They were excited to be in Western Australia and could not wait to look around and meet some new friends.
Thanks for Barney and meeting up with you ParisLaura ClappingClappingDancingDancingClan Minotaur

I travelled back home to SA from Perth for family reasons and decided that Melbourne is only a short hop from Adelaide, so I logged an attendance at the Parkville Mega event and headed over for 5 days in Melbourne. I hired an E bike and had it for 4 days so was able to get around to many places and grab lots of caches as well as biking from the Youth Hostel in North Melbourne to Parkeville which was only a short ride. I had the bike for 4 days and covered about 150km. I took the bike monday arvo and checked out of the hostel tuesday morning and decided to head out to Parkeville on the tram and grab this one and grab a few others as well. It was rather gloomy with the weather and after getting back into the cbd decided to ghead to the airport. Thanks for bringing me here and to this cache parislaura ClappingClapping

The day started with a dinosaur hunt that proved to be challenging. After recent rain the bank was quite slippery and there was water running though the rocks. We could not see anything and only ended up with muddy hands from poking in the crevices. We thought that Barney may have been picked up but Mrs Y'tassies, as is her way, decided on one last look. This time with the torch on her key ring. A flash of iridescent blue was spotted and after a poke with a longish stick she had captured a dinosaur.

We will take Barney back to the coast with us so he can continue his tour of the little island. A neat little cache ParisLaura and a challenging hide nutwood.
