Description

Art - not always to everyone's liking.

Canberra has some new Art, (well, it was new in 2009) and that (still) deserves a cache.

What do you think? Like or loathe it? Take it or leave it?

This one, I like. Why, well unlike the ‘Metal Grass’ over on the Gungahlin Drive Extension, this one actually does something. Sure, we may need a little wind to make it move, but that’s something that Canberra has a lot of………hot wind.

When you log your find on, feel free to tell everyone what you think of it.

Onto the cache:

This cache is a single offset multi. Simply go to the posted co-ords, answer the following simple questions and then head off for a shortish 400 metre walk to find the cache.

Final Location is S35 25 ABC & E149 04.DEF

A = Total number of the letter J on the sculpture’s plaque.
B = Number of lines in last paragraph on the sculpture’s plaque.
C = Number of letters in the Artists first name.
D = Number of letters in the Artists surname.
E = Number of lights in concrete slab. (Any number between 1 & 3 should be ok......)
F = Number of letters in Sculpture name (-2)

Checksums:   S22 E33

Cache is micro – bring your own pen.

GZ can be a high muggle area at certain times, so have a quick look around before you make the final dash for it - then move away to sign the log.

(Please note:   As at time publication the log is an old one from when the cache was previously listed elsewhere.   I will change it over in due course)

I headed out for an afternoon after work trip to Lake Tuggeranong. I took my scooter to cut don on walking. This worked for all but one of the caches today. I enjoyed this area alongside many other park users and walkers, each cache offered a challenge and an interesting location.

I did not realise this was a straight copy, so went through the procedure and came to a slightly different hide. You have to keep you head in.

Thanks for the cache Sol de Lune

Out for an afternoon of caching and Pokémon with GLISS! Needing a bit of a walk we set out in search of this one. An interesting piece of art! And a nice fast find at GZ. Thanks for the excuse to enjoy the fresh air. Thanks for the cache.

Second of three multis that I need this week for my Research task. Information was gathered easily and I set off towards the GZ. Thanks to the clue the cache was found easily, once there, and log now carries my initials. However I did not return the same way. Because it was getting on towards dark, it was easy to see the oncoming traffic and I returned to my car safely. TFTM SL

In Canberra visiting some friends and doing a nearby GC 5/5 puzzle cache before heading to the Mega in Victoria.

Didn't have a vehicle so was busing it around the place and picked a showery day to do it. Got a bit wet whilst walking to this area from the bus but they cleared away before I left the area so was able to dry off in the afternoon on the way back into the city.

Had been walking around the area on the other side of the bridge when I noticed this cache so came over to it. Made the calculations at the listed coordinates and then walked over to GZ to make a quick find.

Log signed and cache returned as found.

Thanks for the cache.

was heading out of town on a cold wet day and decided I'd just get one cache. this was it. I'm not a huge fan of this at piece. i though it looked like a huge broken fan. i saw some wings at the bottom of the arboretum yesterday. i like those ones. dodgy log cause I'm tired. haha.
thanks. might pick up a few more on my way back through Sunday afternoon. depends on time... and weather.

#GA2579 - 13:55; After dropping the geohoney in the city for a bit of retail therapy, I set out on a caching mission. I stopped by this cache to fill another hole in the dZ calendar and had a distinct feeling of deja vu as I completed it. A nice new GCA cache in an area which could be considered as work in progress regarding GCA caching. TFTC Sol de lune Very HappyClan Cerberus
