Description

Dugong Mother and Calf

I do like a good statue, and to my taste, this is a good one.

Dugong Mother and Calf is set on the Dripstone Cliffs, a favourite sunset viewing spot for many Darwinians and visitors to Darwin, and right beside the walking and cycling path that links the area with Lee Pont to the North and Nightcliff, Parap and Darwin to the south.

Rope from retrieved ghost nets, one of the hazards reducing the Northern Territory's dugong population have been repurposed by Darwin Artist Aly de Groot to depict the pair.

The site is very easy to access on foot, by bike, and there is ample parking nearby.

To claim this cache in style, come late in the day, bring a folding chair, some nibbles and your cold beverage of choice. You'll have no trouble finding a great spot nearby to sit and take sustenance and refreshment while you enjoy the sun dropping into the Timor Sea.

To log this cache as found, add a photo of yourself and the statues, or your GPS and the statues, or a screenshot from your phone showing your location adjacent to GZ.

Attended my very own first eveNT at Dripstone Cliffs and it went a bit longer than I thought which was thoroughly enjoyable but made this task a night time task. I included not only my ghostly self but also my Geocaching colours Jar openers I made for eveNT attendees.
