A day trip to Waratah netted us a few finds but a few DNF's as well.
This one was a quick find but we did fail with the GC cache at the same location.
Very noisy here today with a large amount of water passing near GZ.
Thanks.

Quick stop by while in Waratah, and managed to find two locations in the same spot.

3 days off from work, and Geo Kid O joined me on a journey to Stanley and then down along the western explorer road towards Corinna. We have a great time finding a number of caches and driving a road I had not travelled on before.
The Western Explorer road was closed for a while and recently had been reopened with a new bridge near Balfour. Some very interesting sights along the way, with part of the road feeling more like a forest track, and other parts felt like a place where no one else has gone in the past, other than on the road. The open button grass plains were amazing along with the mountain views.
We stayed in Stanely, and the caches in and around Stanely were very good, including one walk to the top of the Nut. Gee that is a steep 400 metre walk.
Thank you for the cache which was part of our journey

Today we left Stanley with gooseandegg and Tassie Trekkers for a caching run down the road to nowhere onto Corinna, Savage River, Waratah and anywhere in between. We left Stanley and cached for 12 hours and had a thoroughly wonderful day out, despite the rain. The rain cleared by the time we got to Corinna and by the time we got to Waratah it was lovely in the late afternoon. A great spot for a cache. TFTC

#GA4071 - 13:30; Today's mission was to collect finds in the four remaining dragonZones on the Tasmanian 'mainland', so I headed off early for Rosebery, stopping off for a catch-up with a fellow cacher in Ulverstone on the outward journey. On the homeward leg now and reached Waratah, stopped off for this cache in a beaut little spot. TFTC sirius Tas

Our second ever GCA cache we found. We usually only use Geocaching official site (almost 2000 finds) but recently i have been fishing around in GCA. For us its a perfect alternative if there are no other caches in the area. We had done all the caches from official geocaching site, it was our last night here after a week and i thought i better check GCA. We had walked right past here 4 times already not knowing there was a cache here at that time.

We were in the area when this cache was published but as we didn't need a GCA cache then decided to leave it so that we could fill a gap in our Solstice grid later in the month. Today turned out to be the gap so after finishing our Monday tasks we headed to Waratah. It was overcast when we left Ulverstone and by the time we reached Burnie there were large drops of rain and the road was quite wet in places making for slippery road conditions that did not seem to worry the locals.
As we approached the intersection in Waratah we noticed that the Tasmanian Tiger on top of the convenience store had collapsed. We had thought it to be a solid structure not a blow up style object.
Once at the cache site we were able to search out of sight of the four workmen working on the water system. We soon had the cache container in hand but not before we had disturbed the large bees or wasps that have their home in the wall. Though they appeared agitated they did not seem to want to attack or bite. Container and contents were in excellent condition. We noticed Swampy and Toolbox had visited the cache several days ago.
Thanks for the cache in this pretty part of the park Sirius Tas. We hope that this cache will get lots of visits as cachers pass through.

Thanks sirius Tas for publishing this new cache while we were at the event. i saw the notification but didn't read it until you and grumbligrot disappeared across the river. Another west coast cache to add to our weekend of finds.
A quick find while at the Oz Day event, was great having a catch up with everyone, TFTC
We were at an event and saw some commotion. We just had to follow but struggled to get the log book!! Meanies!!

Whilst at the event we heard about this new cache.
As we were one of the last groups to arrive we assumed everyone had retrieved the cache
So we wandered off only surprised to find a blank log, so we will claim an {FTF}
Caches found 5, DNF 2, Left alone due to muggles 2

A quick find while at the event in Waratah. Great to have a new cache in the area and very good timing with several caching teams who target GCA caches in attendance. TFTC
