Description
A cache for Kingston.....!
The City of Kingston area was originally governed by the Moorabbin Roads Board, which formed in 1862 and became a shire council in 1871, covering a large area of mixed agricultural and semi-urban land. After years of agitation, in 1917 the seaside town of Sandringham became a borough with its own council, and this fuelled the desire of those living in towns further south to combine their efforts and demand self-representation. This finally occurred in May 1920 and the "Borough of Mordialloc and Mentone" was formed. It became a town in 1923 and the City of Mordialloc in 1926.
In 1994, the Victorian State Government amalgamated local councils all over Victoria, as part of its local government reform. The new City of Kingston was one result, comprising all of the City of Chelsea, most of the City of Mordialloc, a substantial portion of the City of Moorabbin, and parts of the Cities of Oakleigh and Springvale.
The trauma of these forced amalgamations left the people perplexed and they didn't know where they were. As a result, there were no GCA caches placed in the area for fear of sparking more upheaval and confusion among the good people of the borough!
It's more than 20 years since the great 'reforms' of 1994 and things have settled down, so the time was ripe for a new cache in town. Enjoy!

A nice location for a geocache. We walked across from the close by other Geocaching Australia cache and had this one in hand in only a few moments. We actually took a look to make sure there way nothing at home before we plunged the arm in for a grab.
Took nothing, left nothing.
Thanks Luckyl10n for this geocache down this way. Always a pleasure.

GAFF 1
The offer came from ahomburg to fill a vehicle for a spot of caching after the CITO in Braeside Park, so Jascat, leafotwind and I piled in and headed off for a variety of finds.
A couple of cheeky GA grabs in Highton Reserve while wandering around added to our tallies. ahomburg quickly pulled this one from its hiding spot as soon as we got to the coordinates. Thanks, LuckyL10n.
GCA#380
After a little poking around we located this cache and extracted it from its hide. Container and contents were in good condition. Thankfully the area was muggle free. Everyone seembed to be at the swimming centre.
Thanks for this cache LuckyL10n. We appreciate the effort you and Sol De Lune have gone to in placing caches in zones where there are no DZ cache hides. We do hope the locals get out and find them soon.
Now the cache has been found I can make my claim as well. The idea of cache was it increase the Geocaching Australia presence and to add a cache for others to find in this zone. Great to see it was found quickly. TFTC LuckyL10n.
Back in Victoria and lucky to grab a [*FTF*] on this one.
