Description

Wonderful 360 degree views of North Canberra and beyond

This cache is part of the ACT Puzzle Series No.1.
The clue underneath the lid will help lead you to the final cache location in the series.
The other caches in the series you will need to find are GA11961, GA11969, GA11970, GA11977 and GA11978.

Once you have found all six of these caches, you will be able to find the final cache in the series, GA11959…….which is located at S35 16.ABC E149 04.DEF

The summit of Mount Ainslie is a favourite place to go to take in the views. For a much better view you can park at the suggested coordinates, and start the 15 minute walk along a track from the trailhead to GZ and you will have views in all directions.

Parking:  S35 16.119 E149 09.607   There is an area that you can pull off here and park on either side of the road and take the walk to the trailhead.

Trailhead:   S35 16.135 E149 09.575

Doing a nice hike around these parts with Wilma and Hoppy when we got close to the top of this hill we came up to search for this cache. Unfortunatly without sucess. If it was close to the 2 trees here it is probably gone. There is some muggle activity near GZ where people have made a stone circle for a fire place. My guess is that they discoved GZ when doing so, It could also be that. I just didn't widen my seach radius enough (I did about 10m all around before I called it).

Thanks for the cache, a great idea for a joined cache.

lovely location and gorjuz views. Found this little one a few metres away. Happy Easter. Fav for the location. TFTC.

This cache should have been safe to handle, as it hasn't been logged for almost ten months Very Happy. It had me going for a moment, but once I read that the coordinates were good I was able to reduce my search to a small area. I soon spotted the hide. It took some jiggling to remove both the cover and the cache. Cache and log are good. Great views from here.
This was the last cache to find in this series and now I have the final coordinates.

I was up here today, so called in to find this cache. Spent quite a while checking various rock crevices before finally spotting it - should have trusted the coordinates in the first place!

Very clear air today made for great views.

Thanks,

Now this is what caching is all about......

A neat walk...not that far that you end of hating it, but enough to feel like you've done something. A neat location with views that are worth the effort to get to. A hide that is not hard, but hidden well in the conditions (took me a good 20 minutes to find it) and then you can take time to enjoy the surroundings. Everything you want really....well, me anyway.

Thanks KK.....a really enjoyable cache. Recommended

Found via helping KK put this out. Waited for FTF before claiming. Great walk and excellent views.

Probably the longest one for the puzzle series. I did not choose the right footwear this morning, so the approach from the carpark was.. painful

Anyhow, hunted around and around and around. GPS was not helpful, but eventually gave me a 1m location. Lifted a rock and saw a cache poking out. As TE mentioned, that's quite well concealed!

Chooo *FTF* on a lovely Thursday morning! Decided to give these latest caches a go, so planned a circular drive to cover them all. This was #6. As I mentioned at #2, I think I was suffering rock blindness today... Spent a fair bit of time searching in ever increasing circles... Eventually decided to see if I could get another hint. Well, yes, that is what I was looking for, but somehow, then I found it! Coordinates are accurate, it's just I'm amazed that regular sized container fit in there Very Happy . Thanks Kittykatch! Now off to the final...
