Description

One of a series of eleven based on the rankings in the Australian Army

Military personnel are constantly being moved from post to post and those in this series are much the same

However, the Field Marshal has ordered that his troops needed a permanent base, HEADQUARTERS, for their benefit.

So, part of their duties is to return to headquarters, not at the given co-ordinates, by working out where the General had it built

They were merely given the following on a command sheet:

South (Warrant Officer)(Sergeant) (Field Marshal) (Sergeant)(Lieutenant)(Brigadier)

East (Private)(Warrant Officer)(Captain) (Lieutenant)(Captain) (Colonel)(Colonel)(Warrant Officer)

See if you can get to Headquarters before they do

(Check your answers with the geochecker on this page site)

Solved so long ago that I don't know how any more. I stopped up the road a bit and walked to GZ, where I had my doubts for a bit before looking in the right place.
Thanks.

Thanks for the cache OldSaint. Out today with RLD4963 and the GeoGSP. After a drive along the Plenty Link Road, we were now on the drive home and grabbing a few caches along the way. This was another puzzle that I had solved when it was first published, so I was happy to add this to our list of possible finds for the day. We had been to this area previously so we knew where to park. From there it was a nice quick stroll to GZ and the cache was found. All is good at GZ, thanks for the puzzle, Cheers.

Out and about with the Rafas for the summer GCA game, New Years Day caching with god company. Driving on a new road to me as I have never been out this way before. Nice views towards the middle section but concentrating on driving so missing some of the views. easy find with clues. TFTC TNLN log dry.

Drenched again but found the cache. Thanks

Researching several internet sites for these rankings proved confusing and difficult so aus resorted to the same method as whitwebbs and soon had the coords.
The bear got drenched looking for the cache. Once found he returned to the car so that the log could be signed without it getting wet.
We had intended going out to Lonnavale but decided to abandon our caching for the day and come back another time in better weather. Always love a drive into the Huon Valley.
Thanks for the puzzle and for the cache, Old Saint.

Hi OldSaint,
My 2nd last cache for the day but getting tired...muddy...been a hectic week.
This puzzle had me head scratching for awhile until realising the significance of some other data....great conception. I did have one minor brain fade after doing all the hard work but got there in the end.
At gz the well hidden cache was soon found...great to be at Army Ranking Headquarters which has sent troops state wide.
Thoroughly enjoyed the puzzle and cache....many thanks...cheers ST.

We saw there had been new caches published linking New Norfolk to Huonville so we thought we might head off and find them and quite a few others in the Huon area that had been published while we have been away. As we had planned to see the grandsons play their soccer matches it was nearly lunchtime before we made a start. Seeing the New Norfolk end cache had been found we decided to head to the Huon Valley area and then work our way to New Norfolk via the Plenty Link Road.
We solved this puzzle in the car at Brabazon point as we knew the wedding that had just started at the No campRING multi down the road would take a while. We managed to grab a couple of moveables from their hidey hole amongst the 30 parked cars and then headed to SSR's new cache.
This puzzle took some solving (which was good as we needed to fill in some time) but try as we might we could not come up with a list of rankings. We resorted to reading the descriptions of moveables published at the same time and what do you know a list of sorts started to appear. The geochecker finally liked our answer. We added GZ to the list and when we were back in the area the cache was quickly found and the log signed. TFTP

This was another cache that was on the new route we had added to our map for today's mission. As we did not want to leave a lone cache sitting by itself we decided to look for it on our way. We had solved the puzzle some time ago.

Accurate coordinates and a useful hint soon had us at GZ where we located a well hidden, good sized container. The container and contents were in good condition. After the Captain and Field Marshall had visited their mates at Head Quarters we moved on to look for another cache on our mission list.

Thanks for another well hidden cache Old Saint.

Found while out in caching in the Huon today with stainless steel rat (and others). We had a wonderful day but a head-scratching moment here. Luckily the CO was able to help up out when we struggled. Little did we know that we'd walked right by the cache not too long before Shocked Another cache type knocked off today. Maybe we should try a traditional next. Thanks for another good cache and your assistance OldSaint
