Description
The Monaro Highway is a busy highway linking Canberra to the snowfields in Winter and the far south coast of NSW in Summer. Many of the points of interest along this road have caches which highlight them. This cache is another along those lines.
This cache is located at the entrance to the Canberra Gliding Club’s airfield at Bunyan. The club flies its gliders here on most weekends. The location is noted for its high altitude flying when the strong north westerlies blow over the Australian Alps. But they fly in calm weather too with training flights in their two-seater sailplanes and air experience flights are often available. They welcome visitors. So, after your cache find, if the gate is open, go in and have a look and a chat. For more info, see www.canberragliding.org.

Another quick find here after finding the other cache across the track. No aircraft to be seen here today...

A quick find here today although the ground was very wet and muddy.
Thanks for the cache JayOmegaTor.
The ground is very wet, and the grass is knee high, with uneven ground hidden underneath - not a terrain 1 cache now, in my opinion.
Thanks for this cache, JayOmegaTor!
What a fabulous day today. Blue skies, sun, beautiful green rolling hills and successful caching experiences. It was so good to be able to set my own timetable and not worry about holding other people up. I love the social aspect of town caching but the solitude of rural caching is so calming.
Today’s trip from Canberra to Jindabyne, Bombala, Cooma and home again involved 18 caches – 8 GCAs and 10 GCs as well as covering two new dragon zones. Many thanks to all the COs, especially DSD who helped me out to ensure I didn’t have to record any DNFs, for placing and maintaining these caches adding to my enjoyable caching experience.
Thanks
Albida
BTW I placed two caches close together to test the relative popularity of GC and GA caches. The GC cache has had 70 visits. This one only 6.
Thanks
Albida
