A cache for the GeosportZ 2018 Commonwealth Games Gold Coast Australia-Check out my gallery photos.

I won!!! I won!!! I won!!! Yes I know It's huge self praise for myself but I have competed in various Geocaching Australia competitions over the last 2 years since I started Geocaching and having done these kinds of challenges for GeosportZ 2016 as a newbie and came 4th, I knew with all my new skills that I could win this one. With hours and hours of map reading and cache listings noted down and no bedtime before midnight for 4 weeks and 1000kms driven, I can now rest with the knowledge I have won something in my life..bucket list ticked. I had my spreadsheet done this time instead of a lot of scribble in a book. Still had a book though I can't help old fashioned writing things down in my field notes book.

I travelled North, South, East and West of Brisbane and across the ocean to an island, paddled a kayak in a creek for the first time, did a chirp beacon cache for the first time. I had a lot of help from the wonderful members of Geocaching Logan group..Echocage1(Wrestling, met up at Mt Gravatt and wrestled the cache from me, Cricket accompanied me for the beacon cache and Shooting waypoints), Team Imbunda (Shooting, drove all the way from Capalaba to help me find this little micro in the rocks in the dark and Canoeing, Imbunda and Son met me here for my maiden voyage on a kayak and were so brave walking through the long grass on the islands barefoot!!!), The Roddy C'S(Cricket ,Chirp waypoints) and a hot tip from Patrol 14 for the Beacon cache in Toohey Forest. Without all their help I would not have got to stand on the winners podium.

A great big thank you to all of them and the awesome meeting we had with everyone wanting to know what I had to do and to help me out. Kind people who dropped everything to come and help, I am truly grateful to them all and the dedication these friends have to fellow humans totally has me welled up with tears just writing this. Truly valuable friends to have.

The cache is hidden in my local State forest and is a nice walk, just be mindful of Mountain bikers using the tracks here.

One last walk through this beautiful park before heading out of Brisbane. I'd noticed when I arrived that there were 2 unfound GCA caches close by. Beautiful walk in the morning and soon I was heading along a lovely ridge. Great hide and love the extra camo which should protect it from the elements. Thanks for the FTF prize. A really well stocked cache. Love the hide and location. Congratulations on your win and nice to meet you yesterday.
