Tonight on the way back from Christmas shopping in Burnie we stopped to look for this cache, it was spotted very easily as it was laying out in the open, so once we signed the log we hid it better to ensure it’s longitvity. TFTC

Thanks for the cache Robtas. Visiting the northwest coast for the weekend with RLD4963 to watch a friend's play. Decided to break up the drive home on Sunday with some geocaching. This was a nice place to stop (as there were a couple of other caches nearby). A nice easy find, cheers.

Out and about caching with Tassies Trekkers in the North West on a very windy afternoon. Many years ago when we were first caching in this area we tried to find this cache without any luck, today the DNF is now a find.
We are currently participating in the States of the Nation games running from 16 December 2017 until 21 January 2018.
States of the Nation is a real and virtual geocaching scavenger hunt where your home state will compete against other Australian states to find and hide geocaches. Over the 5 week course of the game there will be hundreds of scavenges that you can track down, find and convert into points for your state. Some scavenges will be easy. Some scavenges will be tough. Some scavenges may be impossible. Don't despair. You are not competing just for yourself; you are competing as a state.
There will be a number of scavenges released on a weekly basis but each scavenge will remain until the end of the game. This means even if you decide to join the game part way through, the early scavenges are still available for you to claim. Scavenges will require you to find a geocache, hide a geocache, attend an event or do something else completely different. The game focuses on all aspects of geocaching and so all cache types, sizes, terrain and difficulty will be up for scavenging. TrigPoints, Events, History, Virtual, Webcam, Podcache and Locationless geocaches are all scavengable, so you're not just looking for a box under a bush. Each week there will be a mix of physical, non-physical and locationless geocaches so even if you are not in a geocache rich area, use the locationless component of scavenger series to get out, find something to log and gain points for your state. If you watch the scavenges as they are released you might also spot the 'not so hidden' patterns and plan for future weeks of the series.
Hiding geocaches will also be a large part of the scavenger series, but please remember this is a game of geocaching and geocaches that you hide should be long lasting, be of good quality and you should be proud of what you hide. Please avoid hiding a geocache just for the day so your state can find it before you archive it. Geocaches that exist for a short period of time may result in any claims on that geocache being disqualified. Play creatively, but also play fairly. More geocachers hiding more geocaches makes for more geocaching fun.
Sorry about the lengthy logs. We are currently aiming for a virtual verbosity trophy. TFTC

Tricky access for a big fella with dicky knees but managed it. We even had a toot of a car horn as I struggled back from GZ. Wonder if they were cachers. Thanks Robtas, another one of your interesting spots.
I like your turn of phrase, Robtas. However- my old bones didn't want to jump over the blackberry ditch and there were cars everywhere so I felt a bit (!!!) exposed. Maybe another time I'll try much earlier and from a different approach.
Continuing on towards Penguin and this was my next stop. Grabbed the lighthouse trig and then headed down for this one. No real problems and the cache was soon in hand.
Thanks RobTas....
Thanks RobTas....
Another cache that hasn't been seen for a long time but is still in place. Bit of a hop through the blackberries on the grass to get to it though. TFTC
Found after a short search. Glad we managed to find this easily as lots of traffic on his road today. Thanks for organising the cache. TNLNSL. TFTC.

go Go Go is right this was a very exposed cache and the traffic around 5.30pm was more than a little daunting. Thanks for the cache
Yeah macs! We got it on our first trip geocaching. It is near to home and has been our 'kick off' into this fun family activity.

Easy find on the way back to the cachemobile after doing the trig point and cache above. TFTC
Well what a laugh this one was with heazle1 all I can say is go go go. You can't watch out for muggles cause there everywhere. Even honking there horns as they drive by. We were in hysterics. TFTC
Heazle1 found easy but had will.mott laughing and screaming at me to hurry up. got a toot from veola truck nice of him! it was a great laugh when we finally got back to the car.

I was living in Burnie when these bits of so called "art" were placed. There was a lot of uproar at the time as people believed that the money would be better spent on worthwhile things. Having found the cache and been up close and personal to this "art" my feelings have not changed. They are ugly bits of metal and no way reflect the true nature of Burnie. TFTC
Nice easy find while the boss was grabbing the trig

Interesting walk to the cache - even though we parked close getting to the cache involved a walk of much longer length
The walk back was easier as we decide to go straight up the hill.

Some people will search for caches anywhere they can just because they can and I did!!! I don't feel guilty either. Got a honk from someone that must be a cacher as he passed in his motor home. Logged the cache at 1118hrs and headed south. Thanks robtas.
Quick find on the way home. I have been meaning to do this for quite some time. GPSr was indicating GZ as 2.5metres North. TNLNSL TFTC
Finally a use for those rusty "art" pieces....

"Knock-off" time was not the best for trying to locate this cache - there was considerable traffic on the highway. I think we manged to locate this one and get the log signed without drawing attention to ourselves.
No luck with this one, despite the combined effort of myself and davedidit.
May need checking

Found this after visiting the lighthouse cache. Very busy highway and glad I found it rather quickly.
Found this one exactly where I expected it to be. Despite the traffic it was a nice easy cache.

Found, right where it should be. But not by me, I was too busy climbing the rocks to look somewhere else...

Speedy find indeed! Just as well with the amount of cars flying past at breakneck speed. We grabbed, signed and replaced as fast as we could.
Thanks for the cache.
Thanks for the cache.
I only picked this one up because I had to walk past it (twice) to get from where I parked the geomobile to the other cache near the lighthouse.
So there !!

have too agree with one other comment about being too easy

This location isn't really conducive to a prolonged search with the cars wizzing by and the exposed position next to the highway. But look extensively I did with the thought of a crush injury in the back of my mind - with all those rocks placed as they are up the bank. For a blatant driveby in this sort of location I'd like a hint please!!!
Drove right by, but stopped long enough to pick this one up!

A true drive by, put on a safety vest and hard hat together with a folder so I looked like a worker and no one took any notice of me loging this one.
I somehow managed to step out of the car and fall straight into the ditch. Not a very ladylike thing to do but found the cache so that cheered me up.
Thanks robtas

Got the goods in the end.

Found in the company of the CEyrettes after their little run in the Burnie 321. DEyrette found the cache relatively quickly much to the consternation of his sisters. Having kids scramble around the GZ seems to be a reasonable alibi to all of the passing traffic.
Cheers Robtas

Sorry for taking your cache, we thought you wouldn't mind and we were just having fun.
Took the cache because the location was disappointing and the only appealing thing about the cache was to find it first. Now it's found there really isn't much incentive left.
Placed cache back in its original horrible position.
Next time please write your name or mention geocaching somewhere, so that people in dire need of black canisters aren't tempted to nick it.
Cheers,
Hookline
